General Hospital Commentary: Dirty Laundry

It was a week of bombshells and confrontations as secrets were revealed. Trina learned that Brook Lynn was in the mystery car the night of Jordan’s crash, Anna followed Peter’s deadly advice and lured Britt into the woods, and Drew took delight in letting Willow know that her days playing congresswoman would soon be at an end. A General Hospital commentary for the week ending September 11, 2026.

The Eagles were right; people love dirty laundry, especially fans of soap operas. This week there was plenty of that on General Hospital, and boy, did it have viewers talking. There’s so much to get into, so let’s kick things off with Brook Lynn’s secret bombshell, which dropped when Chase confronted his wife in the Quartermaine kitchen about being the mystery driver that Jordan nearly plowed into. Trina overheard all of it.

Life In The Fast Lane

Folks, I love Trina. I have from the beginning, but lately, I don’t recognize her. There was a time when Trina had incredible empathy, understanding of human nature, and an unlimited supply of kindness. She’d get mad, but it was always justified and tempered by a willingness to forgive. How many second chances did she give crazy Esme? Certainly, more than I would have given that devious viper.

This week, it felt like that Trina is long gone.

The Secret Is Out

Trina overheard Chase confront his wife about Jordan and Curtis’ accident, and Brook Lynn’s near-fatal collision with necking duo. Trina was livid and she angrily followed Chase and Brook Lynn to the living room to demand answers from Brook Lynn. Jordan, Kai, Gio, Emma, and Tracy were gathered around for the showdown as Brook Lynn was forced to admit that she had been the other driver, but Brook Lynn rushed to assure all that she’d had no idea there had been a crash. She explained that she hadn’t seen nor heard anything to indicate the other driver had wrecked. Brook Lynn had assumed the other car had gone around the bend and driven off. Trina didn’t believe Brook Lynn, which surprised me because Trina knows Brook Lynn better than that.

Usually, I love scenes like this, but not this time. What in Brook Lynn’s history suggests that she would knowingly leave two injured people on the side of the road and not call for help? Nothing that I can think of. Yet Trina is convinced that is exactly what happened. We saw the accident unfold, so viewers know just how wrong Trina is about this.

I’m Sorry

I appreciate that Trina loves her father and is heartbroken that he’s in jail, but where Trina lost me completely was her unwillingness to see Brook Lynn’s side of things. Yes, Brook Lynn could have gone to Curtis and told him that she’d been the other driver, but Brook Lynn had a lot riding on how Curtis would take that news. She feared that no one would believe that she hadn’t seen the accident, and she would be wrongly accused of leaving the scene of an accident and failing to report it. That would have destroyed any chance Brook Lynn and Chase had of adopting Phoebe. A baby that Brook Lynn loved and had bonded with.

Given how quickly Curtis and Jordan accused Isaiah of leaving Curtis and Jordan to die, and how everyone is questioning Brook Lynn, I can’t say that Brook Lynn was wrong. Her fears were well-founded.

Two Wrongs

The thing is, Trina seems to put zero blame for anything on Jordan or Curtis. Not for the accident nor for the punch. To hear Trina tell it, Brook Lynn was flying down the road like the wicked witch of the East, saw the crash, and left Jordan and Curtis to die. The reality is far different. Jordan could have killed everyone if Brook Lynn hadn’t swerved out of the way. Jordan should thank her lucky stars every day that the worst she got was a scar on her face.

Also, it’s just plain shoddy police work that the police didn’t come knocking on the Q mansion’s door. They had a complete list of registered black BMWs, including Brook Lynn’s. Brook Lynn was not legally required to report that she was the other driver. How do we know that? Justine was only able to charge Brook Lynn with damaging the guardrail and failing to report it, which is more than Jordan was charged with!

What is crazy about that is that Justine wouldn’t have known about Brook Lynn’s role in damaging the guardrail if Brook Lynn hadn’t reported it.

Glass Houses

Frankly, Trina doesn’t have any room to point fingers at anyone. The irony (and hypocrisy) was not lost on many of us as Trina lectured Brook Lynn about being a coward, all the while Trina and Kai remained silent about Willow’s role in Drew’s shooting. Meanwhile, everyone – including his family — believed that Michael had done the deed. Heck, people still think Michael shot Drew. For months, Scout was left in the care of Willow, while Drew sat confined to a wheelchair in a locked in state. Did Trina and Kai speak up? Did they go to the police? No. Had they, Drew wouldn’t have been drugged by both Willow and Nina, and he wouldn’t have been thrown into a lake and left to drown.

Granted, Trina and Kai don’t know yet what Willow (with a big assist from Nina) did to Drew, but they did know that Willow had tried to kill him. How could they have they possibly believed that she would treat him right when he was powerless to defend himself? Brook Lynn had no way of knowing that Curtis would punch Isaiah. That’s generally not how people resolve conflict. It’s how bullies behave. I hate what General Hospital’s writers have done to Trina. She’s as insufferable as Curtis is these days.

Handsy Curtis

It really irks me that Curtis and Jordan have not once, in the telling of the events, mentioned how handsy Curtis was being, and that they had kissed throughout the drive. Neither was being responsible. He kept distracting Jordan and she let him. She never said, “Hey, let me drive” or “Stop, I’m trying to drive here.” She didn’t even pull over so they could get it out of their systems and continue on without endangering other drivers. Instead, Jordan smiled and kept taking her eyes off a dark and winding road where the speed limit was well above 25 mph.

I also don’t recall hearing Jordan or Curtis acknowledge that they could have killed the other driver in a head-on collision. They almost brush aside Jordan’s culpability in the accident as if her injuries somehow mitigate her guilt. This wasn’t a case of them serving to avoid hitting a deer or hitchhiker in the road. They were making out, and the car went left of center. They are darn lucky they didn’t kill Brook Lynn and themselves.

The Punch

Let’s be honest, Curtis has been looking for an excuse to punch Isaiah since he met the guy. Curtis assumed that Isaiah was the other driver based purely on circumstantial evidence and because it gave Curtis the excuse he’d been looking for. Curtis punched Isaiah because Isaiah said he would be a better father to Des than Curtis would be. It wasn’t about the accident. It was about Des.

Now, I realize that Brook Lynn had been drinking prior to the near collision. Was she legally intoxicated? I doubt it, but it doesn’t matter because once again, she was not the one who crossed into oncoming traffic. When she arrived at Charlie’s Pub, no one seemed to be concerned that Brook Lynn might be drunk, and she even talked to Dante, who is a cop.

General Hospital’s Blame Game

If things aren’t crazy enough with this ridiculous storyline, Isaiah immediately painted Brook Lynn the villain too.

I was gobsmacked. Isaiah actually believes that Brook Lynn owes him an apology. Excuse me? She owes you nothing, sir because she did not punch you. Nor was she legally obligated to report that she was nearly struck in a head-on collision. Again, Curtis didn’t punch Isaiah because he was mad about the accident. Curtis socked Isaiah because Isaiah brought Des into the argument.

The Lulu Factor

If anyone owes Isaiah an apology it’s Curtis. Followed by Lulu. Why has Isaiah left Lulu completely off the hook? Isaiah’s name could have easily been cleared if Lulu had just confirmed that Isaiah was at her house at the time of the accident treating Rocco for an infected cut. Absolutely no one would have disputed that story because Rocco had been seen at the hospital for that very injury. That was the official story, what the medical records showed, and what Liz would have attested to if Curtis had asked questions.

All Lulu had to do was go to Curtis privately and tell him that Rocco cut his hand, it got infected, so she decided to call her brother’s friend to treat it instead of schlepping her son back to the hospital. I will never understand why Isaiah didn’t ask Lulu to clear his name of the false allegations.

Your Cheatin’ Heart

If things aren’t bad enough for Brook Lynn, her marriage is over. She doesn’t know it yet, but Chase does. He sees a way that he can walk away — and sleep with Willow — without being burdened with a pesky guilty conscience. Chase is such a dirty dog.

As soon as Chase had the chance, he beelined to the gatehouse. Of course he did. Chase has been engaging in an emotional affair for many months now. Ever since Willow was accused of attempted murder. Even before. I firmly believe that Chase checked out of his marriage when he learned that he couldn’t father children and then Gio was revealed to be Brook Lynn and Dante’s son. Chase never got over the realization that Brook Lynn had kept that secret from him.

No Going Back

Even if the marriage could be saved, I don’t want that for Brook Lynn. Chase showed what a lousy husband he was when he ran to the police station and ratted out his wife over what is definitely not a crime. My hubby would help me bury a body. Actually, he’d do it for me, mainly because I’d be worse than Ava at digging a hole. What makes Chase’s action worse is that he hasn’t said a peep about the very real and incriminating evidence of Willow from the night of the shooting vanishing from police custody. Where’s the search for the truth there?

It’s such a betrayal, and Brook Lynn deserves better than a faithless husband like Chase. Everything Brook Lynn has done — even the stupid things — she has done to protect her marriage. The same can’t be said for Chase. For example, the man always seems to lose his shirt when he’s around Willow, a woman his wife feels so threatened by that she desperately tried to set her up for a public scandal. My hubby would have put the damn shirt on and left. He definitely wouldn’t stand around comforting the hussy or helping her unpack. Chase did all that and more.

Will The Real Killow Please Stand Up

I have to hand it General Hospital’s writers. They have united many viewers in our disgust over Chase’s behavior and our desire to see him get exactly what he deserves. He has been positioned perfectly for the truth to blow up in his face. Chase thinks Brook Lynn is bad, wait until he learns who the real Willow is. I’m going to relish every blessed second of those scenes.

Bang! Bang! Peter Is Gone — Again

In a truly chilling twist, Anna finally dealt with her Cesar Faison/Peter August problem. She got a helping hand from Jason, but at what cost? I suspect his relationship with Britt. More on that in a minute. First, let’s discuss the trap — and the tarp.

After weeks of Peter whispering in Anna’s ear to kill Britt, Anna lured Britt to an isolated spot in the woods where she had laid out a tarp. Britt walked right onto the tarp and asked Anna why the remote location to update Britt on the hunt for information about Cassius. Anna pulled out a gun and answered, “So no one can hear you scream.” Britt had all the survival instincts of a newborn deer. Surprising, given all that she’s been through and who her parents are.

Britt, the first red flag was Anna agreeing to help you. The second was the secrecy she swore you to. The third was arranging to meet in the woods. The fourth was that dang tarp!! Luckily for Britt, Jason easily figured things out and saved the day. He talked Anna down from shooting Britt and instead, Anna shot at the apparition of Peter.

General Hospital Bids Farewell to Peter August — Again

I love a good villain, and as much as I absolutely hate Peter August, he is a perfectly evil villain. I applaud the writers for bringing Peter back to stir up trouble in a creative way that made sense. Anna’s mind had been fractured by Cullum’s diabolical plan to drive her insane, so I was able to buy that Anna had visions of Peter giving voice to her darkest thoughts.

What I had trouble with is the aftermath. Symbolically killing Peter by shooting the apparition feels a bit anticlimactic after months of buildup to make a move against Britt. In real life, I don’t think hallucinations work like that unless they are drug induced. That said, I am glad that Anna didn’t actually shoot Britt, and Anna will now be going to therapy because that definitely is an important part of the healing process. However, why did neither Anna nor Jason question if those hallucinations — and the impulse to murder Britt — might be part of Cullum’s programing? That kind of kill-switch would have been the soapier twist.

The Britch Is Such a Britch

While I’m asking questions, I would really like to know why General Hospital’s writers make it so hard to like Britt? Whenever they have an opportunity to redeem the character they choose to do the opposite. Of all people, you’d think that Britt would have some empathy for Anna and how Cullum — and his minions, her brother included — had tortured and manipulated her. Britt is a doctor. How do you deliver babies yet have no compassion for a traumatized woman? As a medical professional, Britt should understand better than most how fragile the mind is. Additionally, Britt spent years being lied to about having Huntington’s disease. She was haunted by the inevitable and horrific end that she faced as the disease progressed. Can’t Britt show even a bit of understanding for the fact that Cullum exploited Anna’s weakness the way he did Britt’s?

Being Forgiven but Never Forgiving

I loved that Felicia reminded Britt that Britt has repeatedly benefitted from people forgiving Britt for some of the truly heinous things that Britt has done, starting with stealing an embryo and passing it off as her own to trap a man into marriage. Britt should have had her medical license revoked for life and be sitting in jail until the end of time, but instead she remains a free woman with a job at General Hospital. Britt has always been given a second, third, fourth, etc. chance when she asked. Always.

What Anna did was terrible. And yes, it was criminal. But no one got hurt — except a hallucination. Anna didn’t shoot at Britt and missed. She shot at an apparition away from where Jason and Britt were crouched. Britt definitely has a right to be angry and worried, but she should also offer some of the grace that Britt herself has benefited from. At least Anna is taking charge of her mental health by stepping down as police commissioner and seeking professional help. That’s more of a penance than Britt has paid for the things she’s done including working on a cold-fusion project run by a rogue WSB Director.

Lucas stepped in and tried to be the voice of Britt’s better angel, but everything he said fell on deaf ears. When Britt saw Anna, Britt vowed, “She will pay for what she’s done.”

The End of Jason and Britt

I’ve seen the writing on the wall for a while now that Jason and Britt are over. They’ve spent very little time together since his return from Jakarta, and they have only kissed once or twice since confessing that they love each other. Now, Britt wants Jason to back her up about Anna and go to the police. Jason would never do that, and any woman who loved him would never ask that of him. He doesn’t betray friends like that. Yet, that is exactly what Britt expects Jason to do.

When Britt explained that she was worried about Maxie’s children (James and Bailey Lou) as well as herself, Jason assured her that Anna was getting help. Britt wasn’t satisfied, and she kept pushing. “Anna is dangerous and she needs to be locked up,” Britt told Jason. “No,” Jason replied. “No, the truth is Anna was reacting to the trauma inflicted on her when she was being held captive under Wyndemere. I mean how could you even say that you want her locked up or prosecuted for what she did when you knew she was being held prisoner and you did nothing to save her?” Jason argued. He has a point.

No Backing Down

There was a lot of resentment and anger behind Jason’s question, suggesting that this is something that has been bothering him. Jason is not going to bend on this, and I suspect Britt won’t either.

Willow’s Dirty Deeds

That brings me to Drew and Willow’s little visit in Drew’s Willow’s local congressional office. I loathe Drew with every fiber of my being. He is vile and rotten to his core. The way he treats Scout is deplorable and shameful. But… I love how he makes Willow squirm. Their scenes on Friday (September 11) were everything! Drew knows that Willow’s fixer is dead, so she has no protection. Neither does that idiot mother of hers. “Listen to you. So confident you’re going to get away with everything. You probably think that if I come after you, you can just retreat behind your mother’s inherited fortune, and nothing will touch you. Well, good luck with that. You might just find yourself unprotected and out in the cold a little sooner than you think,” Drew warned Willow.

Killow’s Downfall

I’ve been waiting for Willow’s downfall ever since it was revealed that she shot Drew, and every time it looks like it’s about to happen, I’m left disappointed because inevitably it never happens. But this feels different. Drew has already taken steps to frame Nina for Jack’s disappearance when he planted Jack’s wallet in Nina’s car. It’s clear that Drew intends for Willow to go down with her mother.

That day will be here sooner than even Drew realizes because acting Station-Chief Baines is already asking questions about Jack’s absence and closing in on Nina. Carly made sure to tell Baines all about Nina’s heated exchange with Jack, and Nina’s threat. Meanwhile, Outback is on a mission to dig up Jack’s grave, and we all know how clever and determined Outback is when she sets her mind to something.

Port Charles Potpourri

Some quick thoughts about other things going on in and around Port Charles.

Cassius, Cassius, Cassius

There’s quite a bit of talk about Cassius lately. Does this mean Ryan Paevey will be back on our screens soon? I kind of hope so, with all the JJE stuff going on. I know Cassius is older than Josslyn, but I can’t deny that there’s potential there, especially given the way Josslyn talked about Cassius when she opened up to Jason.

Sparks Fly

I love Rory Gibson. He has chemistry with a potted plant. Did I see sparks fly between Michael and Jordan? Yes, but I’m not sure I’m ready for a romance between the two. Jordan needs to put on her big girl pants and take responsibility for her own role in the accident first.

The Day The Music Died

Dare we hope that General Hospital is correcting course and putting an end to Gio and Trina’s newfound dreams of hitting it big in the music industry? Trina announced that she is done with music thanks to Brook Lynn’s betrayal, and all I felt was giddy with delight. Maybe going back to her first love — art — will help Trina heal and realize that the person she’s really angry at is her father for letting his temper get the best of him.

“I actually thought that Drew was intending to bury Brennan on one of Sonny’s properties, as it would help solve his and Ava’s “Sonny problem”. When it was revealed that he decided to bury Brennan on the property that used to be owned by the Quartermaines, I figured that Drew doesn’t really like them either, so if any of them take the fall he would be happy with that. Now with him putting the wallet in Nina’s car, it would likely look like either Nina and Willow did it together, or Nina did it to protect her daughter in some way.” — Kam
