The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmys nominations have been announced. It its first year of eligibility, Beyond the Gates scored 16* nominations. Long-time top-rated The Young and the Restless leads the pack with 18 total nominations.
Beyond the Gates has made quite the splash in its inaugural year of Daytime Emmy eligibility. The CBS soap opera landed a whopping 15 nominations, including a nod for the top prize: Outstanding Daytime Drama Series.
The show’s cast was also honored with eight nominations in the various acting categories.
Beyond the Gates earned its first-ever Daytime Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress (otherwise known as Outstanding Lead Actress) field when the nominations in the category were revealed on July 13, 2026. Karla Mosley was nominated for her work as gun-toting, golf club wielding Dani Dupree. Her on-screen mother, Tamara Tunie, also earned a nod for her work as the Dupree family matriarch Anita Dupree. Despite their lengthy careers in daytime, this is the first time both actresses have received a Daytime Emmy nomination. Tunie was pre-nominated for her work on As the World Turns in 2003 and 2004 as Lead Actress and Supporting Actress, respectively.
Beyond the Gates also picked up two nominations in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category. Timon Kyle Durrett scored his first nomination for playing the gruff attorney Bill Hamilton. Mike Manning picked up a nod for his work as intrepid reporter Bradley “Smitty” Smith. This is the first nomination for Durrett. Manning is a two-time Daytime Emmy winner for her role on the streaming soap The Bay. In 2021 he was awarded the Outstanding Performance By a Supporting Actor in a Daytime Fiction Program for his portrayal of Caleb McKinnon. A year earlier, he took home a Daytime Emmy as a producer when The Bay won the Outstanding Digital Daytime Drama Series.
In the Outstanding Supporting Actress, Trisha Mann-Grant was the show’s sole nominee, earning a nomination for her trippy performance of Leslie Thomas or, as she is known affectionately LSD (Leslie/SherryDana).
It was again double the pleasure, double the nominees in the Outstanding Emerging Talent field. Beyond the Gates stars Ambyr Michelle and Arielle Prepetit earned their first-ever Daytime Emmy nominations. Michelle was honored for her work as Eva Thomas and Prepetit for her work as Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne.
Beyond The Gates was also represented in the Outstanding Guest Performance. Jasmine Burke landed a nomination for her portrayal of June Hughes.
In the technical categories, Beyond the Gates also made a splash. The show’s Writing Team earned a nomination. Surprisingly, though, the show as overlooked in the Directing Team field.
Other tech awards included Outstanding Music Direction and Composition and Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup for the episode that featured the Articulettes concert, and Outstanding Technical Direction and Video and Outstanding Lighting Direction for episodes revolving around the second half of the Articulettes concert and the tribute to Barbara Mitchell. The show also was recognized in the Outstanding Casting category.
So about that asterisk… In what appears to be a new category — Outstanding Arts and Popular Culture Program — the weeklong special that aired before Beyond the Gates debuted, Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood, also received a nomination. The show was produced by Entertainment Tonight so it technically doesn’t count toward Beyond the Gates’ tally.
A rules change this year allowed shows to submit more than one episode in the technical categories. The Young and the Restless seems to be the only show to capitalize on this, with multiple nominations in for costuming and set decoration.
Nominations are based on material that aired between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025.
The ceremony is set to take place on Friday, October 30 at the historic Hollywood Palladium
in Hollywood, California. If you are looking forward to seeing the ceremony broadcast on television… well, you are going to have to figure out how to install the Emmy app your television. The ceremony will once again be a stream-only affair.
