General Hospital Commentary: Love, loss, and frozen heads

The Quartermaine family was shaken to their core when their beloved matriarch Monica passed away. Meanwhile, trouble brewed as another Faison appeared to return from the dead. Is that what Britt has been hiding? It was a week of love, loss — and frozen heads. Let’s discuss all that and more in a new General Hospital commentary for the week ending September 19, 2025.

Buckle up, dear readers, there’s a lot to unpack. General Hospital was positively soapy this week between Liesl and Brittโ€™s long-awaited reunion that went sideways, a shocking return from the dead and Ninaโ€™s long overdue confrontation with Willow. However, it was Monicaโ€™s sudden passing that truly tugged at the heartstrings and gave us some truly touching moments. Let’s start there.

The moment weโ€™ve all been both dreading and waiting for arrived when General Hospital finally addressed the passing of our much-loved Leslie Charleson. Her alter ego, Dr. Monica Quartermaine, peacefully passed away in her sleep. Earlier that morning Monica had enjoyed a visit with Scout and Wiley before the children had scampered off to their first day of school. It took eight long months to get here, but it was handled beautifully. The scenes have been incredibly bittersweet in large part due to the moving flashbacks. Both Jane Elliot and Steve Burton have blown me away with their powerful performances. I’m sure that’s partly due to their own very real grief over losing Ms. Charleson.

It seemed fitting that it was Jason who had found Monica. I’ve always believed that Jason was the true love of Monica’s life. She loved her other children — Dawn, A.J., and Emily — but not the way she loved Jason. There was always something special between Monica and Jason that everyone could see.

I left Drew off that list intentionally. Monica didnโ€™t raise him, and I firmly believe that she grew to detest the man he became once he returned from Pentonville. Drew severed whatever maternal affection Monica might have had for him with that family crypt fiasco.

Tracy and Jason remember Monica

There were a lot of people who loved Monica, and who Monica loved, but Jason and Tracy were without question the two most important people in her life, especially in recent years. It’s why I found their scenes especially poignant as they tried to process losing Monica so suddenly. Yes, Monica had been in poor health in recent years, but there was no sign that her death was imminent. It’s for that reason that both Jason and Tracy were blindsided by Monica’s passing.

The scenes between Jason and Tracy were beautifully written. Kudos to the General Hospital writers. I had tears in my eyes from the moment Jason broke the devastating news to Tracy. When Tracy asked Jason for a hug — and he wrapped his arms around her — I lost it. Sadly, it’s moments like this that brings people together. It breaks my heart that it’s under such awful circumstances. I felt it to my core when Tracy told Brook Lynn and Ned that she’s lost so many people then proceeded to list them. Edward and Lila, Alan, A.J. and Luke, just to name a few.

Poor Tracy. I hope Gio lets her in because she’s going to need all the support she can get. Tracy and Monica might have been bitter rivals many years ago, but they each grew to dearly love each other. They were sisters in every way but biology.

A mother’s love

Monica never gave up on her son, even when Jason pushed her away and embraced a life of crime and danger. I knew that Jason would one day regret the distance he had put between himself and the woman who had raised and loved him since he was a baby. That said, I also know that Jason and Monica managed to get back to that mother/son relationship, especially in the last decade. Jason was there for Monica when she struggled with alcohol addiction and needed to go into rehab. I also know that Monica must have been overjoyed to have Jason move back into the Quartermaine mansion with his son. I’m deeply grateful that the writers gave us that.

Two moments this week that had me sobbing. Like straight-up ugly crying and blowing my nose. The first was when a grief-stricken Jason quietly admitted that he had never really cared that he couldn’t remember his life prior to the accident with A.J. — until that moment. “I wish that I had memories of growing up with Monica as my mom. I should have asked her when I had the chance,” he said. “You can ask me,” Tracy gently replied. “She told me practically everything.”

Later, when Jason sat in the gatehouse hoping to feel closer to his mother, he tearfully said, “I’ll miss you, Mom,” and added in a broken voice that he loved her. This is why I watch General Hospital. I’ve been a loyal and steady viewer since before Jason was born, so I know his history with Monica and her love for him. Jason meant every word that declaration of love.

If you’re interested, you can check out the tribute I wrote for Leslie Charleson back in January where I cover some of Monica’s early history.

Meanwhile, Drew is sitting in General Hospital stewing in his hate. Any hope that his brush with death would be the wake-up call he needed to turn things around were completely dashed when he tried to pin the shooting on Michael without caring if Michael was actually guilty of the crime. Drew would happily send an innocent man to jail in order to steal Michael’s children and hand them over to their mentally unstable mother. Next, Drew rejected Danny’s pleas to let Scout spent time with her Quartermaine relatives. Drew blamed Jason for Drew’s cruel choices, so Danny wisely left.

Unfortunately, that leaves Scout stuck with Willow. Anyone who thinks Willow should be around children is willfully ignoring all the warning signs. I’m pretty sure Drew suspects Willow of being behind the troubling incidents with Daisy. Additionally, Willow’s courtroom breakdown, which led to a brief hospitalization, shows her inability to handle stressful situations. We also learned this week that Willow is perfectly happy to exploit Scout’s situation to bypass a court order. I hope Sam haunts Willow’s dreams.

It’s clear that disaster is looming on the horizon. Willow should be in a sanitarium not watching over Scout. The only person who seems to genuinely have Scout’s best interests at heart is Danny. Everyone else is putting themselves first, including Alexis who has turned into a walking felony to save Kristina from Kristina’s worst impulses.

The truth hurts

I’m no Nina fan, but I did appreciate her attempt at tough love by calling Willow out for all the selfish and boneheaded choices Willow has made in the name of loving Drew. Yes, it should have happened months ago, but it’s doubtful it would have mattered. Nina is right. Willow wouldn’t care if Drew had a freezer full of heads in the basement. Willow is completely unhinged. She blames Nina for not telling the truth about Drew from the start, while at the same time giving Drew a second chance because he fills her head with empty promises and lies. Willow is in full self-destruct mode, and she won’t stop until she hits rock bottom.

More and more, things point to Willow as the shooter.

What was Willow doing at the Q mansion?

Not for a nanosecond do I believe Willow returned to the Q mansion to fetch something for Scout. What was it? Scout’s favorite water bottle or some such nonsense? No, Willow was up to no good, which is why she snuck onto the grounds undetected. Otherwise, she could have simply asked a guard to fetch Scout’s new favorite thing. Does Willow have the gun that was used to shoot Drew? ๐Ÿค”

Regardless, that little stunt is going to come back to bite Willow. At some point, Chase is going to remember that Willow does indeed know how to sneak onto the property and evade the security cameras. That she made it to the kitchen without being discovered. It will give credence to the accusation that Willow was the one who had messed with Daisy. Chase might not like it, but he won’t be able to deny that he caught Willow in the act of skulking.

Scout’s song

We also learned this week that “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” was Drew’s ringtone for Scout. An important detail that Kai and Trina remembered hearing when the shots were fired. Does Willow have the same ringtone for Scout? My kids and I use the same ringtone — The Andy Griffith Show’s theme song — for my husband, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility. Perhaps it was Willow’s phone — not Drew’s — that we heard as the shots rang out.

Brittโ€™s reunion with Liesl took an ugly turn when Britt cruelly lashed out at Liesl for being a rotten mother. Donโ€™t get me wrong. Liesl was far from a good mother throughout Brittโ€™s childhood, but Liesl and Britt had put all of that behind them long ago, and they had grown close especially in the last few years before Britt โ€œdied.โ€ What happened? Why is Britt acting like none of that happened?

Is Britt trying to protect her mother from the mystery man known as โ€œhimโ€ or has Britt reverted to her old miserable ways? I hope not because belligerent Britt is not enjoyable to watch.

I didnโ€™t always like Britt. Back when she stole Lulu and Danteโ€™s embryo, I absolutely despised her. But she found her way to redemption and actually seemed to learn from her past transgressions and mistakes. When the Hook struck (I still believe the true killer was Esme Prince, but Heather took the fall for her evil daughter), Britt was a much different person than the woman who had taken Rocco from his rightful family.

Letโ€™s be clear about something. I donโ€™t care if Rocco was an embryo or a newborn. He was kidnapped. He was, is, and will always be Lulu and Danteโ€™s son. This idea that Britt should have a place in Roccoโ€™s life just because she gave birth to him is vile. That goes double for her referring to him as โ€œBen.โ€ That was a name given to him by his captor, not his parents. Roccoโ€™s name reflects his true heritage, not the one that Britt tried to impose on him.

The Britt that Jason fell in love with knew that, and she deeply regretted what she had done to Rocco.

Will the real Britt please stand up

I donโ€™t know why Britt has returned to the bitter ugly person she once was, but I donโ€™t like it. She’s as delusional as Willow is to think that she could be reinstated as a doctor at General Hospital without even having her medical license. I’m also disappointed that she didn’t see what Lucas did when he pointed out that Britt didn’t seem to have any symptoms of her Huntington’s Disease. Is that because the medication she’d been taking had cured her or because she never had it?

I’ve long suspected that Britt had been poisoned with something that presented as Huntington’s. Why has this not occurred to her, especially now that she is symptom free? Remember, Victor was in play back in those days and he knew about Britt’s ‘illness’ before it was public knowledge. Victor is also a known associate of Cesar Faison.

It’s a soap, so these things — and much more — are entirely possible. That brings me to Nathan.

Friday’s episode ushered Ryan Paevey back onto the canvas when Lulu happened to come across a single vehicle accident and an unconscious man behind the wheel of the truck. I swear, nothing good ever comes of soap opera people driving. Anyway, Lulu opted not to move the man in case he had a neck injury, so she never saw his face. It wasn’t until the mystery man arrived at General Hospital that we got some answers.

Lucas immediately recognized the patient. When Anna and Dante got a gander at him, it was clear that Nathan West was back from the dead. While I’m delighted for Liesl, and that James will have the joy of meeting his dad, I’m going to need some answers. Britt has them. It’s time for her to fess up because I have a sneaking suspicion that Nathan is going to wake up with a case of amnesia.

All of this is connected to the mysterious “him.” Given that there are two Faisons back in action, it’s a good bet that “him” is a Faison too. Pleasedon’tletitbePeterAugust ๐Ÿ™

Joss and Moondoggie VaughnDex took some time out from their spy games to get their groove on at Bondi Beach. Their first mission was pretty much a bust within 24 hours, Jason knows Josslyn’s secret, and they nearly got killed, but did that stop them from getting in a little surf time? Nope, not at all. Heck, they didn’t even bother to debrief their boss before jetting off to Australia.

It’s a good thing Joss and Vaughn are soap spies because they’d never make it as real spies. Yet, despite all of that Vaughn was promoted to Brennan’s right-hand man, and Josslyn gets to continue posing as a college student at Port Charles University. Josslyn is confident that Jason will keep her secret, which he will until he can’t. Josslyn will soon get a lesson in where Jason’s true loyalties lie. Spoiler alert: It’s Carly. It’s always Carly.

Luckily for Jason, Carly is going to have a bigger target when Josslyn’s little bombshell drops. Brennan would be wise to find a rock to crawl under until the dust settles. Wait until Carly learns that Brennan recruited Josslyn after covering up Josslyn’s role in Cyrus’ death.

Is anyone else wondering what the ladies are doing about Ric’s basic needs like food, water, and using the bathroom? At some point they will have to unstrap him from the table so he can answer nature’s call. If not, they are going to have a stinky mess to clean up.

It was strange that Willow would tell Scout that they would be staying with Willow’s “friend, Elizabeth.” I can remember when Scout referred to Elizabeth as “Aunt Elizabeth,” but that was long before Willow entered the picture and acted like Scout wasn’t related to Elizabeth’s middle son, Jake.

Aren’t congressional aides fingerprinted? I would think that Anna’s forensics’ team would have made quick work of matching the fingerprints on the bat to Kai.

Shame on Cody. As Molly wisely pointed out, Outback looked healthy and well cared for. He should have taken her to a shelter where they could get the word out. If no one claimed Outback, then Cody could have adopted the pooch. Cody did redeem himself by asking Gio to donate the reward money to a shelter.

We love reading what other fans have to say about the show, so please scroll down to the Comments section and share your thoughts. It’s at the bottom of this (and every) column.

“I thought it was odd when Kai said he thought Alexis had a key to Drewโ€™s house. Just canโ€™t imagine Drew giving Alexis a key to his house.” — JDF

“Perhaps the gun was Drewโ€™s, and Willow grabbed it because she knew where it was.” — Lorene

“DrEW (like Peter before him) has been written as so one note since he became a villain, and for me, that makes him unwatchable. I literally fast-forward almost every scene heโ€™s in because I feel like I know exactly what is going to happen/what heโ€™s going to say.” — Linus van Pelt

Hope she's good 'cause I really liked Scarlett. (I'm predisposed to like her because I like her dad, Billy Burke.) ๐Ÿ™‚ Have they aged the character up any?

    Thank you for an excellent column. IMHO – Steve Burton has a solid emmy reel from Friday’s episode. The regret was palable. And Danny is an excellent support system too. O/T – has anyone noticed how that young actor has picked up on SBu’s mannerisms as Jason. It was like watching Jason implore Drew to do the right thing for his daughter.

    Liz – we should have fun with the “freezer full of heads” comment. I can visualize Ezra, Stella, Curtis, Portia, Nina, Willow in a freezer – balloon heads wtih stick bodies, with Kai the one who has made the escape from the freezer to become his own person. What are your thoughts?

    I really wonder where TPTB are taking Willow’s mindset these days. She is becoming very shady. Not as bad a Nelle, but like you – what was she doing sneaking into the Q house? Will Chase’s brain wake up and go into dectective mode to realize that MIchael’s suspicious are correct as far as Daisy, and that Willow could be the lead suspect in the shooting too?

    So Happy Fall on Monday as we buckle up and hold our tissues for the Funeral at the end of the week. I hope Tracy (JE) is given the honor of the Final Goodbye to a wonderful soap character who evolved into a character of strength and unconditional love. Monica – I can see you in heaven with Alan and those pillow clubs, duking it out and then laughing and hugging. Thank you.

      Thank you! Hmm, the frozen head idea sounds like a perfectly ghoulish idea for a Halloween column! ๐Ÿ˜‰
      I honestly don’t know what the writers are doing with Willow. Is this going to be the new normal for her or is this all part of an epic reveal (she was the shooter, and she’ll do it again) before carting her off to Ferncliff for a nice long vacation and deprogramming of Dawn of Drew. My hope is for the latter.
      Next week is going to be amazing, I’m sure. I just have to remember to grab another box of tissues when I head to the grocery store later.

    I’ve been saying all along the gun used to shoot Drew belongs to Drew! Willow has a key to Drew’s house, and she would know where Drew kept his gun. I believe she let herself into the back door, got the gun and then hid because she heard Trina and Kai come in. Not long after, Drew got home, made himself a drink, went to the safe, took out Willow’s engagement ring and then went to the fireplace to congratulate himself that all his plans were working out. Obviously, the person who shot Drew was standing in back of him and the only entrance to the house from that angle was the FRONT door. However, it was raining out and if the person just walked in seconds before he was shot, Drew WOULD have heard the door open. But he didn’t. Therefore, the person was already in the house! Willow. As soon as she shot him, she hightailed it out of there because she KNEW Trina and Kai were there and was afraid that they’d see her. I believe YOU are right Liz and when she shot Drew her phone rang with Scout’s ringtone. I also think Michael got there and possibly saw Willow leaving. He got back into his car and took off following her back to GH before he went home. Willow definitely went back to the Quartermaine’s to plant the gun in Michael’s room to frame him. I HOPE this all comes out BEFORE the visitation hearing so she ends up in Ferncliff. It’s where she belongs. I do NOT want to see someone as unbalanced as Willow get any visitation with her children.

    • Liz Masters

      All very plausible. It looks like the writers are feeding us a few clues each week, so I’m eager to see what we get next.
      I love your theory about Michael seeing Willow. That would be something if he were trying to protect her because in the end she’s the mother of their children and Drew pushed Willow over the edge.

  3. JDF

    One of the things that I’ve always liked about Steve Burton was his ability to convey emotion without saying a word. That made him the perfect choice to be the one to find Monica.

    Who ever shot Drew is not a very good shot. Why has no one brought that up? He was shot at close range and once when he was motionless on the floor. That alone rules out multiple characters.

    I just don’t get the Ric in the basement story. Ava, Alexis, Ric and Kristina are all guilty of crimes and can’t implicate each other without implicating themselves. If it’s about the money he stashed, a call to Spinnelli could take care of that. He could hack Rics’ account and get the funds back.

    I couldn’t really figure out why Sonny would make it seem like Drew paid off the judge since Michael got custody of the kids. Maybe to make it look like Judge Heron double crossed Drew and that gave him motive for murder. But Chase, Willows’ new champion, saying that Drew paid off the judge so Willow wouldn’t get custody and then have to be more dependent on Drew was kind of out there.

    Tracy implied that “Monica’s house” and all things should now go to Michael. That makes me think it is not going to happen. The rumors are that ES is coming on board as Monica’s sister. I hope not. I am so tired of long lost children that we never heard about, like Monica’s daughter Dawn, showing up out of nowhere and siblings that were never even hinted at being made up. Please, how about an original idea for a change.

    My Views on the Week, jotted down as I watched…

    Next, on “Agents Barbie and Ken’s Australian Honeymoon”…
    This whole Premise is So Stupid.
    Oh Boy, OverLord Droopy Dawg Sez:
    “Y’All can Have At It for the Next Twenty-Four Hours, and After That, Youse Two don’t even KNOW each other!!”
    ::Droopy Dawg leaves::
    Joss to Vaughn: “Did you remember to buy Condoms? No? No matter. I’m a Athlete!! I don’t Ovulate!!”
    Famous Last Words.
    Gonna be a Little Spy Baby Down the Road apiece.

    Slightly OT:
    I’ve recently been rewatching “Whiskey Cavalier” on Tubi– Terrific Show, reminds me of The Avengers –only lasted One Season (2019), sadly.
    What a Fun Show! I was so mad when it wasn’t renewed!
    Anyway, the GH Writers should Binge Watch Whiskey Cavalier if they want some “Spy Stuff” ideas.
    I mean, it’s Ridiculous Stuff as well, but it’s Well Written Ridiculous Stuff.

    Frau Blรผcher and The Britch.
    Just like Old Times.
    I can’t say I half blame Liesl but she was a bit harsh.
    Hopefully she’ll come around.
    Or…Fail To Do So.
    Speaking of Coming Around, nice the way Stone Cold just ::POPS:: Up at Pier 54 where Britta just happened to be Brooding.
    Fascinating, since most folks in PC Brood on Pier 55. If they’re not getting Shot, Stabbed, Kidnapped, or Blown Up.
    ~~~
    I have to say that while I’m enjoying the change, it is a little weird to see Krissy arriving at Ava’s apartment, and they actually seem to be In Cahoots.
    Across town, Molly is meeting with Liz to ask about Ric’s Whereabouts….
    But seriously, has Ric peed yet?
    Has he had anything to drink? Has he eaten? Bathed? He must Stink.
    Whew.
    ~~~
    Now I’m no fan of Ninny, nor am I a fan of Wallow, but I loved their little tรชte-ร -tรชte Re; EwDrew.
    Not that it did any good.

    This Week, on “It’s Me Or The Dog!”
    Great show. Love Victoria Stilwell.
    But I Digress again.
    Gio??
    Just KISS the Anti-Emma Already!!!
    ~~~
    Boy was I relieved to see Outback at Cody’s Hoagie.
    Too bad he doesn’t have the Brains to realize the dog is Cared for and Belongs to Somebody.
    Except ShrewLu is too busy worrying about UnDead Britt to help look for her Son’s Lost Dog.
    Oh, she’s “Allowing” Charlotte and Rocco to post flyers.
    But other than that, ShrewLu don’t care about anyone but ShrewLu.
    The only reason she’s “allowing” Charlotte to even THINK about visiting Val is because Carly talked her into it.
    ~~~
    Why, after 15 years, does Britt suddenly care about Rocco, insisting on calling him “Ben”?
    Why are we starting THAT again?
    Oh, right.
    Because The Writers Hate Us and We Can’t Have Nice Things.
    ~~~
    Back to “It’s About Time”
    No, not the One Season Comedy about Astronauts who Time Travel to Prehistoric Times…remember that? Imogene Coco was the Mama Cave Broad.
    Anyway.
    Monica Finally Expired.
    Not to be cold, but we’ve been waiting for this since at least January.
    I’m guessing Monica had a DNR.
    Right, Jason just happened to find it on her desk.
    Why did the EMT’s have a Defibrillator to collect a Deceased Patient?
    Of course, they need to call it in to GH and have an ER Attending pronounce Monica over the phone (they can do that), then they (in the Emergency Department) need to report Monica’s Death to the Sharing Network (whether she’s a Donor or not, they would discuss this further with the Family if she qualified, but she might not due to Advanced Age).
    And, of course, the Medical Examiner needs to be called, and Monica’s Primary Care Physician would have to sign the Death Certificate.
    Anyway, that’s how it’s often done in the ER where I work…
    Of course, this is Port Charles, so all of those Laws and Protocols will likely be ignored.
    But I Digress. Again.
    Back to Cooty and OutBack.
    So this Jerk, who has his nose all up in Everybody’s Business, has NO IDEA that this dog has been living first with Anna and Emma (and Gio), and most recently with ShrewLu and her Semi-Invisible Kids?
    This is so aggravating.
    Should be interesting seeing Britt do ER Intake.
    I’m guessing that means Triage.
    If she’s doing Triage, it’s good practice, and she’ll have so much fun with Obnoxious Patients.
    The Writers need to watch “The Pitt” if they want to get some ideas.
    But I’m sure they won’t.
      I was really annoyed with Cody’s attitude. My worst nightmare is that my sweet Cleo gets loose and ends up lost. She’s got a very strong prey drive, so she’d chase something into the woods and then suddenly realize she’s lost. I would be absolutely devasted me — and Cleo too — if someone decided to keep her without making a reasonable attempt to get her back home. Cleo is chipped though. Shame on both Emma and Lulu for not taking care of that. They’ve both had plenty of time to get that done.
      • Missez Premise
        Good to “see” you, Liz!
        My dogs are all Microchipped.
        Plus, their collars are all embroidered with their full names and my phone #.
        I was really annoyed with Cody’s attitude.
        Stupid Man Thinking.
        Good thing Molly came along…
        I’m not surprised that Lulu didn’t think to get the dog microchipped.
        Her character has become extremely selfish.
        Emma, however should know better and have had her chipped the minute she decided to keep her.
        • Michael
          It’s also time that they recast Dylan quartermaine. There’s literally another q out there with tons of potential.
      • JDF
        Wasn’t Cleo the name of the “talking” dog on the old Jackie Cooper TV show?
        • Liz Masters
          Yes, it was!!
          I named my Cleo after the Greek muse Clio, but I changed the spelling to honor two very special family dogs born 35 years apart. ๐Ÿ˜€
      • Kathie
        I canโ€™t rememberโ€”when Outback first showed up, were Emma & Gio able to find her previous owner?
        While I agree it would have been wrong for Cody not to attempt to find out where Outback came from, I kind of think sheโ€™d be better off with him. Heโ€™s good with animals, has the Quartermaine grounds for her to explore and is around a lot. If she hasnโ€™t taken the dog to get microchipped, bought tags, taken her to obedience school and still let the kids take her out without a leash, Iโ€™m not inclined to think Lulu knows what sheโ€™s doing. I also think getting a dog only because your kid wants one is not the best idea. Seems wiser to let Cody keep her at the Qs where Rocco can see her when heโ€™s with his dad or Danny. Rather than the other way around
        BTW, I was very proud of myself for returning an escaped dog home a couple of days ago. It was kind of an easy oneโ€”I was pretty sure I knew where he lived, was only half a block from his home & he followed me there. But Iโ€™ll take the win. This is not the first time Iโ€™ve come across a solo dog while jogging. I canโ€™t usually do anything about it when itโ€™s a little one who wonโ€™t let me near it & Iโ€™m a mile or two away from home with nothing with me to capture it
    I love your Gidget and Moondoggie references! One of my all-time favorite movies! I named my beagle Gidget ๐Ÿฅฐ. Think Gidget and Moondoggie will come back married so they canโ€™t be split up?
    This was a very well done and emotional week. Kudos to all the actors. Many Emmy nomination reels earned this week.
    I so enjoy reading your column every week. Keep up the great job!
      Thank you so much!
      Even as a kid I loved classic movies, and the Gidget movies were some of my favorites. Love the name Gidget for a dog! ๐Ÿ’œ
    I’m going to be very disappointed if they do not bring Kin Shriner back as Scotty to attend Monica’s funeral. They’re so few left from that era that will be a real shame if they don’t include him.
    I was more on Brittโ€™s side vs Liesel. Obrecht entertains me as much as the next person, but I donโ€™t think she has any business passing judgement on anyone who is not the worst of the worst. She said it herself in a recent discussion with Annaโ€”for keeping Robin from her family who thought she was dead, Obrecht kind of had this coming. Not to mention the karmic payback for decades of selfish, cold, critical parenting of Britt. That doesnโ€™t go away just because youโ€™re nicer for a couple of years.
    Obrecht has also been very disingenuous with Rocco. She presents herself as a good natured grandmotherly type but sheโ€™s not any more Roccoโ€™s grandmother than Britt is his mother. Sheโ€™s conveniently left out from Roccoโ€™s history that the embryo theft was her idea & that she kidnapped Rocco after Britt got busted. She was very honest with Rocco about Brittโ€™s flaws, but she was silent on how she contributed to themโ€”and how they mirrored her own. So anyone who wants to remind Obrecht of certain truths has my support
    As for Brittโ€™s attitude, I agree she should tone it down. But Iโ€™m willing to give it a minute. Sheโ€™s got to be out of practice on her social skills after being isolated for a couple of years. Sheโ€™s understandably reluctant to trust Jason, and sheโ€™s not getting the best reactions from everyone else. Dante & Lulu acted like Satan walked into the hospital, her mother slapped her & every one else has acted like they preferred her dead. Which is partially Brittโ€™s fault for being abrasive, but itโ€™s still kind of harsh. I disagree with Carly that Britt had to die to get appreciated for saving Jossโ€™s life. It was still a courageous act to intervene. Lulu looks to be trying to make peace on Monday, so hopefully Britt will be more agreeable when she doesnโ€™t feel defensive
    By the way, I guess we could debate whether or not Esme was responsible for some of the early hook attacks, but there is no question Heather attacked Britt/Joss. We saw her remove her mask afterwards, and Esme was busy jumping off the Wyndemere parapet at the time
      I don’t get the sudden shift about Rocco. Both Liesl and Britt had a much different attitude about Rocco before Britt returned from the Five Poppies.
      James is Liesl’s grandson. Would she feel the same way if someone had stolen James as an embryo, kept him from his family for nearly a year, and then popped back in and tried to play Oma and Mom to him 14 years later? No, she would go full-blown supervillain on them.
    “Iโ€™ve long suspected that Britt had been poisoned with something that presented as Huntingtonโ€™s. Why has this not occurred to her, especially now that she is symptom free? Remember, Victor was in play back in those days and he knew about Brittโ€™s โ€˜illnessโ€™ before it was public knowledge. Victor is also a known associate of Cesar Faison.”
    I can definitely see Victor doing something like that๐Ÿ˜†
