Ric is tied up in Alexis’ basement, but is Drew in the most danger as he racks up enemies with betrayals, threats and revenge plots? Will Judge Heran’s death pave the way for Willow to get the kids back? Let’s discuss that and much more in a new General Hospital commentary for the week ending August 29, 2025.
Dear readers, I have been begging for someone in Port Charles to be tied up and gagged, but it wasnโt Ric. When I saw Ric getting the treatment that Drew so richly deserves, I was peeved. I was screaming at my TV, โIf you kill Ric and not Drew, I am DONE with you!โ But who am I kidding? I’m never done with General Hospital. I’ ‘ve been watching for 40 years through magnificent plots andโฆnonsense like Casey the Alien.
The most hated man on General Hospital
It is a little frustrating when the fans universally hate a character so much, but the writers continue to destroy them until it drives half of their audience away. We used to love Drew. He was a good guy. A hero. A military veteran. Now heโs the vilest person in town.
When Drew and Alexis sat down to discuss Scout, I did not anticipate that Drew would issue restraining orders against all of Scoutโs relatives to alienate her from everyone who loves her. How can he not look at Scoutโs life and see how wrong that is? Sam raised Scout, and her aunts and Grandma were a big part of her life. Drew wasnโt. Some of that wasnโt his fault of course, but ever since heโs been back in town, she hasnโt really been his priority. Heโs doing things that are cruel and controlling. Drew is just cruel now for the sake of being cruel. Power has gone to his head, and he is mad with it.
The root of Drew’s evil
I kept believing that some crazy soap explanation was coming. Perhaps Drew was someone evil in disguise like Shiloh. That would explain his twisted obsession with Willow. Or maybe Helena is still alive and had Drew under mind control and was forcing him to do bad things. Perhaps Drew was switched out in prison with someone else, like maybe Jason and Drew had a triplet. Right? Shouldnโt we know how the formerly nice guy Drew turned into a monster?
But dear readers, I have given up thinking there is a reason. It seems our General Hospital writers just decided to make Drew a villain and will never explain themselves. Maybe we are forever stuck watching him torment the good people of Port Charles. Or maybe not. Multiple people have threatened to kill him this week, and I hope one of them makes good.
Bound and gagged
But itโs Ric who got tied up. Sure, he angered the wrong bad bitches, but heโs not on par with the evil Congressman Cutthroat. If anyone on the canvas needed to be chained in a basement, it is Drew.
Maybe the writers have their reasons. Maybe this incident with Ric might be the catalyst they are using to reunite Liz and Ric. I know a lot of you have strong opinions about that, both positive and negative. Frankly, I could go either way. I thought Ava and Ric could have been dynamite together and fun to watch, but now that Ava clocked him in the head with a paperweight and chained him up, I donโt see a reconciliation coming. And I do think Liz brings out the best version of Ric, but how long can he keep it up?
Ric’s vanishing act
Since Lucas let Liz know that Ava and Ric are through, I think Liz will be suspicious when Ric doesnโt come sniffing around her and possibly go looking for him. If she found him chained up, would she take pity on him and cut him loose? Since Lucky confided in Liz about Kristina cutting the brake lines on Ricโs car, she might possibly side with Ric at first. But if Liz discovers that Ric parlayed his near death into 10 million dollars by blackmailing Alexis to embezzle from the Cassadines, sheโd be done with him. Again.
Right now, Liz is under the impression that Ric is working for Willow pro-bono, when in fact heโs being paid by Nina. Ric has several secrets he is keeping from Liz, so I think their long-term romance potential is pretty low.
General Hospital’s bad romance
Speaking of low, Willowโs self-esteemโฆ โIโll come back to you if you get my kids back,โ Willow promised Drew. So, she is willing to go back to a cheater who slept with her mother and kept it from her, kept her from seeing Michael in Germany, told Wiley his daddy didnโt want him anymore and a host of other sins. And she is willing to take him back? Girl, get some counseling, I beg you.
Liz tried to reason with Willow and remind her how Drew has ruined Willow’s life, but Willow has been sucked into his vortex again. When Willow told Liz that Drew keeping her from Michael in Germany was a good thing I gagged on my decaf coffee. โIt means heโs POWERFUL.โ No, it doesnโt, you crazy whack job. Willow is out of touch with reality. I am sad that Chase vouched for her, because that will make him look crazy, too, when he tries to adopt a child.
Poor choices, poor mother
Willow taking Drew back does not make her a good mother. She thinks it proves that she is willing to do anything for her kids. Instead, it makes her unstable. Michael is totally right about Willow; she is not steady enough to care for her kids in a rational manner.
Katelyn MacMullen is doing a wonderful job portraying a woman on the edge. Willow’s desperation shows through in every scene, every glance, with darting eyes, quivering lips and shaky hands, the once confident Willow is like a bad clone of herself that got all the neurosis and none of the charm.
Being with someone as manipulative and selfish as Drew changed Willow but not for the better. I thought she finally saw it, and I was so delighted, but the minute Drew swooped into General Hospital making promises, she believed him all over again despite the fact that he had promised her those things before and failed miserably.
Chase talked to the judge during Friday’s episode, and I fear he may have gotten himself into something he didnโt intend. The judge who took the bribe (from Sidwell) thought Chase was snooping into her, when in fact it was just Chase tying to play hero.
Portia makes a bad situation worse
None of the people in Port Charles ever learn any lessons.
Portia lied to Curtis repeatedly and dragged Curtis, Trina and now poor Aunt Stella into her mess with Drew and she has the audacity to act all hurt and jealous over Curtis calling Jordan to try and help Aunt Stella. โIf you walk out of this office right now, then our marriage is over!โ Portia warned Curtis. Um, okay Drama Queen. Did you expect Curtis to let his 75-year-old Auntie rot in jail to appease your insecurities? It sure didnโt take Portia long to turn to Isaiah forโฆcomfort. Curtisโ warm fingerprints were still lingering on the doorknob when Jordan threw herself at Isaiah.
While all of this nonsense is going on in General Hospital, real people are in real medical crisis. Like Maxie.
Goodbye, for now
Thanks to an evil deed by Sidwell, Maxie is in a coma and being sent to Massachusetts for treatment. But instead of standing by her good friendโs family as she is wheeled out of General Hospital, the Co-Chief of Staff is having a nooner with Isaiah up against her office wall.
The goodbye scenes with Maxie and her loved ones did me in. Bradford Anderson as the heartbroken Damien Spinelli made me wish they would write more tender scenes for him to play because he is absolutely brilliant at emoting. Oh sure, heโs great comic relief and a fun character. But just like Liesl Obrecht, some of our quirkiest characters are also extremely skilled in dramatic scenes. I hope Bradford submits those scenes for Emmy consideration.
Another standout performer this week was Kristina Wagner. When she referenced Maxie and BJโs transplanted heart I was already crying. No soap plot in history ever destroyed me like that one did. I am already anxious for Kirsten Stormsโ return. It will be epic!
Torn between two lovers
Now that we know that Ryan Paevey is back on General Hospital and Nathan West might be alive and somewhere out there, I wonder when we will see him. It seems odd that they would bring him back just as Maxie was leaving, unless they plan to drag this story out until January, which is highly possible.
It would be a powerful storyline if Nathan comes home, gets to know James and Maxie wakes up and thinks she is dreaming when she sees her two boys together. But what about poor Spinelli? He loved Maxie before she knew Nathan existed. Iโd hate to see him left high and dry. We need a new love interest for him. Someone unexpected.
An unexpected silver lining
I also appreciated the scenes with Brook Lynn and Lulu, two arch enemies who decided to make peace to be united for Maxie and her family. How long will their truce last? I donโt know, but when I saw their two hands and Maxieโs hand all touching in a friendly pile, I teared up a little.
Another good soapy moment
In another tear-jerking storyline, Gio celebrated his deceased motherโs birthday by lighting a candle for her. Both Brook Lynn then Dante stopped to share memories of Camilla with Gio. It gives me hope that this storyline is finally taking a step forward and that eventually Gio and his birth parents will work things out. Giovanni Mazza has turned in stellar work, as has Amanda Setton and Dominic Zamprogna.
Once the three of them finally forgive and accept one another, itโs going to be a happy holiday season at the Q house.
General Hospital’s Friday cliffhanger
It appears that Judge Heran has met with an unexpected end, as the body Danny and Rocco found floating in the harbor had the same top as the judge. So, definitely either Sidwell or Marco offed her in the hopes of still being able to frame Sonny for the bribe in the custody hearing. But will Sonny’s new pasta pal ADA Turner believe that Sonny did this, or will she help him clear his name?
What will happen tomorrow dear readers?
Will Nathan ask Maxie for his badge back when he visits her? Are Lulu and BLQ destined to become besties? Will Molly rewrite her cowboy romance and add a trollop named Ava into the story?
Is Britt going to use that secret burner bat phone Jason gave her? Will anyone ask Gio what his favorite pizza is before Thanksgiving? Are Rocco and Danny going to tell anyone that they found a body in the water?
Will viewers forgive Kai and let him have Trina back now that he knows Drew is evil? Will Outback sniff out the truth about Sidwell and Professor Dalton? Are the soap gods going to let one of the women in Port Charles whack Drew?
Will WSB chief Jack realize his second in command Collette is a double agent? Will anyone suggest that the WSB offices use security cameras in Jackโs office like most everyone does these days? How long will Cody talk about what a loser he is when everyone in town thinks he is a wonderful guy? Will Ric turn Kristina in as soon as he is released?
Will you also check out Dan J Krollโs latest Beyond the Gates commentary, The person I thought you were?
Only tomorrow knows dear readers and I will tune in tomorrow as long as there are tomorrows.
Tamilu
This column has been edited since its original posting to note that it was Lucas, not Isaiah, who told Liz that Ric and Ava broke up
Chase is an idiot. Did he learn anything from his disasterous relationship with Nelle?
I was baffled when Curtis called Jordan after Stella was arrested. She was with the DEA, a federal drug enforcement agency. Stella is being investigated by the state. That doesn’t make sense either since she is accused of fraud against private insurance companies.
It’s pretty ridiculous to think that Brennan would give Joss the combination to his office safe and just as silly for Pascal to think that someone else would know the combination.
How exactly is Sidwell going to get controlling interest in Deception? Once they had the IPO it became a public company and Tracy somehow owns 51% of the stock. So, unless Sidwell can buy up Tracy’s shares, he can’t control the company. I am so tired of all things “Deception”. At least with Aurora, they had Michael buy up a controlling share of the stock in order to take over the company.
If Marco were telling me that the judge was bribed I would wonder how he could possibly know and the logical answer would be that he or his father was involved with the bribe. When Sidwell tells Marco that they have to get to the judge before Sonny, doesn’t Marco realize that his father is talking about eliminating the judge? So much for Marco being a good guy.
So the judge is killed and we know that they want to blame Sonny, but there’s the little problem of the judge calling Sidwell right before she is found floating in the harbor. It’s as simple as checking the judges’ phone call log which is routine police work these days. Even the PCPD can do that and while Sonny kills people , he’s not sloppy.
Sorry, but Isaiah is a dog, a bird dog! He’s been sniffing around Portia for a while now, just waiting to jump her bones. Not a good guy.
They are stretching how much influence Drew really has. He has had no credible evidence for anything that he has accused people of doing except for Portia.. He can’t possibly prove who bribed the judge since Sidwell told Marco that the bribe was untraceable. But, he probably knows it was Sidwell… because how would Marco know?
I have a short attention span and cannot remember what Sidwell’s plan was in bribing the judge. Was he going to actually frame Sonny for that? Or was he going to use the suggestion that Sonny bribed the judge to get Sonny to sign over his territory to him in fear that the custody case could get reopened? Marco clearly wants option one. But if Sidwell was going to option two, the burden of proof doesn’t need to be as high.
The one that annoys me is this idea that Ava’s video and Ric’s car would hold up as evidence in a court case. Ava nullified that as soon as she stashed both of them. Even if the video’s authenticity can be determined, it is useless without proof Ric’c car was tampered with. Ava may be able to present the car with a cut brake line, but, this far out, it can’t be proven WHEN it was tampered with. Ava very well could have asked the guy who stored the car for her to cut it. Of course, we know she didn’t, but a jury would not. With Ava’s history of dishonesty, she is not a credible witness. Ava has always had a tenuous understanding of how the justice system works, and Kristina is a dingdong. So if they’re confused, OK. But Alexis is a lawyer.
I think I can let that go because Ric being handcuffed in Alexis’s basement for month has the potential to be great soapy fun. I mean, these are all terrible people, but if anyone deserves to be held captive, it’s Ric. Not only as karma for the panic room, but because he kept provoking all three of the women involved. And he’s a sleaze. So I’m willing to suspend my disbelief at the weak plot points (including wondering how he’s going to go to the bathroom) and sense of morality to see where this goes.
I had the same thought about the bathroom, lol!
Okay, so Willow and her pretzel logic idiocy about going back to Drew and blurting out she still loves him, and whatever kink she has for manipulative sickos and mistaking that for power — yikes of course but I’m at the point where I really could not care less about Willow herself. At this point she and Drew deserve each other — Willow, you do you, you literally made your bed.
But in all the many fine and impassioned points both Nina and especially Elizabeth tried to make to Willow, the HUGE one that was missing for me is – how on this blessed earth could anyone even consider letting that cruel, evil, unbalanced man be in the same house and have daily presence and influence over raising those kids????? “I’ll do whatever I need to for my kids” — ummm, except give them a decent home life and shield them from lunatics who will use them at the drop of a hat for whatever nefarious plot they have going at the moment? Poor Wiley and Amelia, and the Drew murder mystery (and Willow being committed for deprogramming) can’t come soon enough for me!
First off, Isaiah did not tell Liz that Ric and Ava broke up. It was Lucas. Also, I thought GH announced that Ryan Paevey is coming back as a NEW character, not as Nathan West. If you know something the rest of us don’t, please share. I hope I am wrong, and you are correct.
I can’t speak for Tamilu, but I will say that I don’t believe Ryan is returning as a new character. I think he will be back as Nathan. That suspicion was only reinforced when Nathan’s name was mentioned during Maxie’s sendoff.
Soaps are infamous for the Beetlejuice effect. Ceasar Faison’s name has been thrown around a lot too lately.
I haven’t been keeping up much with casting news. Have they said how long Ryan Peavey’s run on the show is going to be? Or how long Kirsten Storms will be off?
It doesn’t seem to make too much sense to bring Nathan to PC if there’s no Maxie there. So if Nathan is coming back, it’s more logical at this point in time for him to show up at the 5 poppies with Britt. That implies a longer run since he has to eventually go see his mother, son and Nina. And Maxie if she’s not going to be out that long.
I know this is a soap and these characters and situations are not real. However, some of these characters are CHILDREN. I do not want to see kids hurt or put into potentially dangerous situations, even if they are not real. I certainly hope the writers DO NOT let mentally unbalanced Willow get custody of Wiley and Amelia again. I am all for those kids having their mother in their life but not UNTIL Willow gets psychiatric help.
If Drew wants Scout to grow up resenting him, he’s doing a heck of a job. She wants to see her brothers, aunts and grandmother. What’s Drew going to do, tell Scout that none of them want to see her anymore? Pretty soon, we’ll have to add Scout to the list of people who want to see Drew gone.
Happy LabraDoodle Weekend!!
That’s what it is at MY House, anyway.
I’ve got Three Large Doodle Dogs.
Anyway…
Next, on “What’s My Coma??”
So, are they shipping Maxi off to Lulu’s Coma Resort?
Has NO ONE thought to snag that Jar O Spackle that we ALL know is the cause of Maxi’s Latest Coma?
Spinelli asks “Why Can’t they do Coma Care here in Port Charles?”
Dude, the Doctors at GH haven’t even figured out how to use STETHOSCOPES!!
Send Maxi to Boston if you want her to live!!
And while you’re there pick up some Clam Chowdah and Lobstah Rolls.
And don’t forget the Malt Vinegar!!

Can EwDrew stoop to any New Lows??
Sure he can!!
Where did he get Restraining Orders banning Scout’s Entire Extended Family from coming within 500 Feet of her??
What Judge would issue Multiple Ridiculous Documents like that??
All Ludicrousness aside, WHY didn’t Alexis grab one of the Forks on the table there and Stab EwDrew’s Beady Bugged Out Rat Eyes multiple times?
About time Cooty put his shirt back on.
Run, Molly, Run!!
Ava better get out of there and find Ric before NutKrissy does something Stupid.
Like stab Ric with a Letter Opener.
Well, Heeeere’s Ava!!
Oh, look, Ava clocked Ric in the Noggin with a Snowball!!
Hey, since ShrewLu and BLQ have called a Short Truce, maybe BLQ will fill ShrewLu in on how the Invisible Bailey-Lu (currently being Baby-Sat by Invisible Charlotte) got her Name!!

Omg this whole WSB Barbie and Ken thing is Beyond Stupid.
Send Joss home and End This Nonsense.
I was almost hoping that Thug would drive his Sonic Screwdriver into Vaughn’s Temple and End Our Misery.
Yeah, then we’d have to listen to Joss sniveling because yet Another Bed Buddy Bit the Dust.
Then There’s That.
They NEVER should have Bumped Uglies.
I think they both know that now.

What Chase is doing, approaching the Judge in Willow’s Case, is Totally Illegal.
Well, maybe not TOTALLY, but, yeah.
It’s known as Ex-Parte Communication.
And it’s a Bozo No-No.
Chase should Arrest Himself.
Why not? It wouldn’t be any more Ridiculous than anything else going on in Port Chuck.
Or, Croatia.
Or, Spoon Island.
Or Washington DC.
But I digress.
~~
Ooooo….
Maybe Kai, now that he’s Eavesdropped again, and heard the “Real EwDrew” (at least the 2025 Version),
perhaps Kai will be the one to Eliminate Drew.
Or maybe Liz, after talking to Wallow.
Wallow really belongs in the Loony Bin.

“Stand in Line, Sistah!!”
By the way, it was Portia who threw herself at Gannon, NOT Jordan.
Though he was probably wishing it was Jordan.
– [ ] Iโm tired of the Portia/Curtis/Jordan mess. Jordan was finally getting a storyline and a love interest. She and Isaiah were popular, but General Hospital pulled the plug on them. They moved Jordan into Sidwellโs storyline and made Isaiah everyoneโs sounding board. What a waste of talent.
– [ ] Nathan should remain dead. If Ryan Peavy is returning, he should be portrayed as a different character.
– [ ] The Gio paternity storyline has lost its momentum. While the acting is commendable, the show veered off course by prioritizing Brooklyn and Luluโs verbal sparring match and introducing an unnecessary storyline involving Rocco, Britt, Dante, and Liesel.
– [ ] No, I donโt agree with Trina forgiving Kai, even though I suspect this is the direction the show is headed. From what Iโve read on social media, Iโm not the only one who feels this way. This angst and redemption arc for the couple might not be hitting the way the show intended.
– [ ] Drew and Willow have consumed too much screen time, and itโs time for a change. We need a who shot or killed Drew storyline soon. The current storyline has dragged on for too long and needs closure.
– [ ] Good acting can only carry bad writing and storytelling so far on any show.
I’m disappointed Isaiah and Jordan ended as well. And confused because I thought they were just taking a breather while she investigated Sidwell. I did not like how Jordan got pushed aside to pair up Curtis and Portia. But what’s done is done; and Curtis, despite being a hottie, has shown himself to be judgmental, hypocritical and whiny. Jordan can do better.
I can almost guarantee that Curtis and Portia will agree to give their marriage yet another chance. Which will leave Portia, who just expressed her happiness at no more secrets, covering up the tryst with Isaiah. Because the show made a point of Portia and Cutis sleeping together just a week or so ago and because being a medical professional with a history with unexpected pregnancy is apparently no guarantee someone knows how to use birth control (I’m talking about you Elizabeth Webber!), I would also not be surprised by a who’s the daddy storyline.
Another couple I’m disappointed in: Marco and Lucas. I like the actor who plays Marco so there was potential there. But now, just no. Marco is an awful person, and Lucas is going to look foolish for the righteous indignation spurred by Marco’s mistreatment. My fear is this is a basis for making Brad look not so bad by comparison so they can reintroduce that character. Which is fine as Britt’s bestie and a troublemaker, but as a mate for Lucas, again, please no. I often wonder if I’m a hypocrite because what Brad did with Wiley may not be that off from what Bobbie did with baby Lucas. But in the end, Lucas’s parents were dead, and Bobbie’s and Tony’s marriage didn’t last anyway–though for different reasons than the illegal adoption. What Brad did was just terrible and led to a lot of pain on Lucas’s part. I don’t want to see them back together. What ever happened to Felix? He’s a nice guy and super cute. I don’t see why Lucas can’t pair up with him.
Very much agree with your column Tamilu (and I too think that whoever Ryan comes back as, he will ultimately end up being Nathan even if he starts out as a reanimated corpse with Faison’s brain mapped to it).
While I enjoyed this week, I found myself wanting a fast-forward button to get PAST many of the storylines I fear are coming such as
(1) an affair between Willow and Chase (who will be vocally and self-righteously accusing Michael/Sonny of bribing Heron and then killing her),
(2) an affair between Dante and BrookLynn (which will happen just as BLQ and LuLu are becoming close so that the affair triggers a big blow up between them and re-sets them to bickering high school girls (again) and will result in BLQ being pregnant),
(3) DrEW’s murder and the resulting mystery (he’s already making the requisite “I’m going to kill you” rounds among his enemies) and the bungling of the same (I would be SOOO pleasantly surprised if the writers managed a satisfying murder mystery for a change) (my bet – Willow will off him but won’t be suspected forever)
(4) whatever sanctimonious defense Lucas mounts of Marco as he actively works to help his dad take over Sonny’s territory all in the name of avenging his mother’s death by accidental overdose AND the scenery chewing acrimonious scenes between Lucas and Carly
I realllllly hope I’m wrong about all of these – especially about the Chase/Willow stuff. When Chase first came to town, he was very sneaky in working Nelle to get to the truth (of course after having told of having been her stooge previously). I wish that savvier Chase would reemerge with Willow instead of the rose-colored-eyeglass-wearing, boy-scout-on-steroids we’re seeing. I GUESS we’re supposed to think Chase has a HUGE blindspot for Willow because she was so kind to him (ish) when he was dying.
I actually like the Ric-in-the-basement storyline because it came up out of left field and was not as excessively telegraphed (for weeks) as most GH “twists.”
There are not enough train cars to do a murder on the Port Charles Express given the number of suspects who have either threatened Drew, or are angry with Drew, or perceived that Drew has threatened them. This could turn into a plausible :”who shot Drew ( nod to Who shot JR Ewing) which is very possible. The pomposity and sheer chutzpah of Drew these days is to the point of laughable. He does not realize that he is a servant of The People the way he throws his title around and acts as if he is already sainted.
The list of people who need to go back to school, or therapy, or get slapped up the side of the head with a “snap out of it” is also growing. Willow leads that list – this woman needs help. Desparately. Chase needs to be suspended pending completion of detective school – he is clueless around Willow as he cannot read her at all. At least Liz sees Willow for the mess she is! But…Liz also needs to advise her to get help of the professional kind – as a friend and not necessarily as her boss. Portia needs for someone at the hospital to do a separate audit and hang her out to dry. Portia is now to the point of ridiculous. She does not act self centered like other characters who are, but she is the most narcissistic character on the canvas at present and that is saying load considering who is up there with that same title.
Alexis, Krissy and Ava needs to cash in their chips, replace Ace’s money, destory the car and let Ric go, staying “bygones” as this little fiasco of imprisonment of Ric has gone too far. It is silly.
My winner of the week is Cody – bless his heart – he got caught and called it what it was and why he was doing it. He cares for Molly and is tired of being the bad guy. I hope it works.
I probably am the only one who thinks this. I do not see why Michael won’t allow supervised visitation for Willow and the children. If she could have an hour a week supervised, maybe she would calm down and be patient until the next hearing. I know it is more dramatic for the story to ban her from the children. But it is unrealistic and not necessary. As a mother, I do have sympathy for her desire to at least see her children in a structured setting.
I agree with part of this but for a different reason. The last year has been very tumultuous for Wiley and Amelia, and I am not sure the best thing for them is to be abruptly cut off from their mother. She can’t be trusted on her own, but I agree that a court or CPS monitored visitation may be advantageous for the children
However, no visitation was a decision by the judge. Who was paid by Sidwell. Michael has said he’s not allowing Willow to see the kids because he’s following the judge’s order to the letter. Is he being disingenuous because that’s what he wants to do anyway? Maybe, but I think it’s more likely he’s falling back on that reasoning because he’s not sure what to do. It can’t be an easy thing to tell your small children they can’t see Mommy when they ask about her. And we know they’re asking. He also knows Willow is unstable and correctly believes she was the one moving baby Daisy around. If that got out, Willow would lose her job, could be charged with trespassing at the very least and no one would ever give her custody unless she got psychiatric help first.
I will also say I do not think a court monitored visitation would calm Willow down. She would resent the restrictions. And I don’t feel sorry for her. She’s made her own bed, refuses to take responsibility for that, won’t course correct, doesn’t understand how her actions affect her children and has not shown any consideration of fairness towards Michael where custody is concerned. The only slight sympathy I have for her is that she’s disassembling and does not know she needs to get help. You know what they say–people who are crazy don’t know they’re crazy. I don’t think she will be receptive to options for treatment were Elizabeth or Michael to suggest it. This may have to go pretty far for her. Maybe court ordered if she really goes off the rails. Or Nina can have her declared incompetent and commit her like Alexis was considering for Kristina.
I don’t remember the judge forbidding visitation for Willow. I thought that was Michael’s decision. Maybe I just don’t remember it exactly. Yes, Willow is emotionally unstable and should not have the children for long periods unsupervised. But brief, regular supervised visits would benefit everyone.
As Willow was melting down in the courtroom after Michael got full custody, the judge said visitation would be decided at a later hearing and after the kids were evaluated by a psychiatrist. That she didnโt grant visitation on the spot seemed odd from characters such as Lucas to Chase and, in hindsight, signaled that there was more to the judgeโs decision making process than met the eye
So itโs not like thereโs a restraining order or anything. But when Michael says heโs following the judges guidelines, that means no visitation until after the October hearing. He doesnโt know the judge was bribed so itโs a valid approach to defer to her expertise. Does he have some leeway there regardless? Probably. Thereโs also that issue of the kids psychiatric or therapist appointment that, as far as we know, hasnโt happened. If Michael is going to follow someoneโs expert guidance, thatโs who he should look to.
