It was an explosive week with plenty of twists and turns. Are the writers paving the way for Maxie’s return? Will things between Jason and Britt heat up? Let’s discuss that and more in an all-new General Hospital commentary for the week ending December 6, 2025.
Dear readers, I am a sucker for dogs. When I saw Emma and Gio march in triumphantly with all the freed lab animals, I was delighted. But it wasn’t just because of the adorable canines, it was because General Hospital actually wrapped up a storyline! Emma came to town to prove Dalton was testing on dogs, and instead of just dropping that story into the wind when Dalton died, the writers wrote a scene of closure for us, and I wish to personally thank them.
Hothead Dante
Even though that scene was so satisfying, Ric reminded them that they had made Gio an accomplice by bringing the dogs to Sonny’s house. And it was one more reason for hothead Dante to judge his eldest son. I cheered Rocco on when he reminded Dante that he wasn’t always father of the year. Dante abandoned his family in service to the WSB and Rocco made sure Dante knew that his leaving cost Lulu and Rocco.
Maybe that realization will be the thing that softens Dante’s heart and helps him move past his anger towards Gio, a genuinely nice kid who occasionally makes the same kind of sketchy choices that we all made when we were twenty. I mean, when you were twenty did you think about all the ramifications of your decisions? I didn’t.
A little praise
Also, just a shout out to Finn Carr who has been absolutely nailing every scene as Rocco in this storyline. He has a beautiful gift. Finn is such a natural actor that he’s believable in every scene. Many young actors come out of the gate wooden and stiff, and you can see then acting. But in all of Rocco’s scenes, everything flows out of him as if those are his own words and emotions. In fact, the General Hospital casting director should cast all TV shows because they clearly have an eye for emerging talent.
An explosive week on General Hospital
Reader’s, it’s okay if you are screaming at your computer right now, “Why are you talking about dogs and kids instead of…” (fill in the blank!)
It was an explosive week in Port Charles! Where do I begin? My notes are a jumble of bullet points that are all unbelievable!
- Cyrus and Esme haunting Laura!
- Bloody Valentin showed up at Carly’s! How did he escape?
- Nina and Portia were on the verge of a catfight. (Until Portia revealed that she’s pregnant.)
- Drunk Britt!
- Another Molly and Cody miss!
- Ava is now the stable relative for Lucas.
- Trina discovers that her mom is pregnant and catches Curtis and Jordan kissing.
- Sonny and Laura are being blackmailed by Sidwell and his creepy toady Ezra.
- Ace sighting!
- Kevin finally comes home!
- Ned is home from the hospital, and there was singing on Thanksgiving!
- Willow actually went through with her wedding and married Drew! She looked beautiful but cold. Micheal was lurking outside and I couldn’t decide if he was hurt or furious or both.
- Jacinda and Michael continue to get closer. Michael’s best move would be to propose to Jacinda so she can’t be forced to testify against him.
- Curtis hired Ms. Wu to put a hit on Drew! (But then chickened out!)
- BLQ and Gio forge a real mom/son relationship.
- Carly grits her teeth through her dates with Jack pretending she still likes him.
- Brennan threatens to send Josslyn to Finland and admits that he sent Vaughn away.
How can we possibly unpack all of this?
More has happened on General Hospital this week than has happened on The Young and the Restless in a month. I wish more people knew just how fantastic and addictive General Hospital is right now. I was delighted to see General Hospital was top of the charts on Hulu and that more people are streaming it. It’s been on the upswing lately and I want to tell all the people who gave up on it to give it another try!
And the Emmy goes to …
But back to the week.
Genie Francis has given one powerhouse performance after another. Her scenes with Sonny and her scenes with Kevin are Emmy worthy. Genie Francis has been breathing life into Laura since I was in high school and she still has that fire in her. The things she can convey with just a gasp or a glance should be studied in the finest acting academies.
Sidwell really has Laura. She’s stuck. If she confesses, she runs the risk of no one believing her, and if she does nothing, Sidwell owns her until the end of time. Same with Sonny. Sidwell already told Sonny if he kills Sidwell, that all the evidence he has will come out. Chances are if he has evidence on Laura and Sonny, he probably has a photo of Jason dragging the body away to the Pine Barrons, or the train station, or wherever the Port Charles crime families dump their bodies now.
Murder for hire — or not
Which brings me to Ms. Wu. All this time we wondered who shot Drew, and then we saw Curtis making a deal with Ms. Wu, whom we believed had left town for good!
But Curtis swears he pulled out of the deal, and if Ms. Wu’s men had tried to kill Drew, he would be dead. Thus, we are back to square one and unsure who actually pulled the trigger. SO many twists and turns. I still hope it’s Willow. But it will probably be Jacinda – so when the writers decide to reunite Willow and Michael, there will be a way to send Jacinda away. I am enjoying watching Michael and Jacinda build a relationship, even though I am convinced she’s not his endgame.
Talk of Maxie
Readers, I hope it’s a good sign that everyone has been talking about Maxie on General Hospital this week. Does that mean we are on track to have her back in January? I am so enthusiastic about her impending reunion with Nathan. If he is Nathan. We still don’t seem to know for sure, and Nathan doesn’t seem all that curious to find out where he has been.
Nathan’s big moment this week was taking Curtis in for questioning on Thanksgiving Day and hammering him with questions as to his whereabouts on the day Drew was shot. Trina is leaning on Kai because her world is blowing up around her. And we know that Trina still has one more shocking piece of news to absorb. While Trina is blaming Jordan for her parent’s marital issues, she is unaware that Portia is having a full-on fling with Isaiah. And that Isaiah may be the baby daddy to her new sibling. Frankly, I hope he is. Then Curtis can be free of Portia and go back to Jordan. If Jordan will have him after he confessed his Ms. Wu plan to her.
Britt’s drunken escapades
Britt reached her breaking point and went out for a few drinks to take the edge off but accidentally had too many. She slurred and stumbled around the Brown Dog, and threw herself at Cody right as Molly walked in. The near misses are getting too Hallmark-y for me. Can we finally let this couple do it already?
After Cody rejected Britt, Jason made sure she got home safe, rescued Britt when she was unable to give herself an injection (let us not forget that Jason Quartermaine was a med student before Jason Morgan was a mobster!) Britt taunted Jason to kiss her, but he would never do that while she was drunk and unable to give consent, but if she asks him again when she’s sober, I think he wants to kiss her as much as she wants to be kissed. She has been holding him at arm’s length, and I hope Friday’s episode was evidence that we might be moving forward finally.
Laura’s nightmare
Readers, when Cyrus showed up at Laura’s door I screamed at my TV! My initial thought is “Oh no! Cyrus is still alive — and Brennan has Joss thinking she’s paying penance for killing Cyrus, but he’s still alive!” That does not seem to be the case, but it’s still within the realm of possibility. And then Esme showed up! I loved Avery Pohl’s villainous nature on General Hospital, but sprinkled with heart, like a younger Ava. Evil, but she also wanted to be a good mom and a better person. I was happy to see Esme even though she was haunting Laura.
More please
My co-scooper Liz talked last week about filling out Laura’s family by bringing Nikolas and Spencer Cassadine home and I second that emotion. If Laura actually had to go to prison, maybe we’d discover that Spencer has been locked up all this time and he’d fight his way out to save Ace? I don’t know, I just know I want some Cassadine men in Wyndemere instead of Sidwell.
The bad guys
How DID Sidwell get that footage? Drones? How did he know the exact spot Laura would pull off the road to fix her flat? Some tech people explain this to me please.
Now that Valentin is hiding in Carly’s house, what will she do? What if Jack shows up for a booty call and finds Valentin there? Maybe Carly will start making out with Valentin just to stick it to Jack and then decides she likes it.
Readers, I feel bad for Lucas because he believes that Marco is far removed from Sidwell’s business, but we know that Marco is not. When Lucas discovers that Carly was right all along, he will be crushed. Is it time for Parry Shen to come back and reunite with Lucas and be besties with Britt? I’m ready.
A little redemption
Okay, readers, here is a topic for discussion. I know some of you will get all stirred up at the mere suggestion, but a couple of times recently I have seen scenes with Liz and Drew where she is acting as his Jiminy Cricket, his moral guide and compass and urging him to be better. Do you think Liz could reform Drew the way she did Franco? I mean sure, Franco had a brain tumor, but who’s to say Drew doesn’t? It would explain a lot.
Also, I loved the Ric and Sonny scenes this week. I hope the writers love these two brothers as much as I do and build a cozy little bromance for them to finally find peace. Maurice Benard and Rick Hearst have such amazing chemistry together onscreen; their scenes are always electric. I hope this is genuine and not an angle Ric is working.
What will happen tomorrow dear readers?
Will Portia find out she’s having twins from two different dads? Will Sonny keep all the dogs and give them to Donna for Christmas? Is Ned going to step into the role of Q family patriarch while Tracy is away? Will Ava continue to sip martinis and stir the pot with Portia and Nina? (PS I love Nina’s new haircut!)
Will Laura and Sonny take their families and go to his private island to avoid Sidwell’s blackmail? Will Laura’s next ghost be her son Nikolas who is wasting away in prison without ever getting a visit, or maybe her old pal Heather Webber? Is Joss going to be sent to Finland and meet a Nordic version of Vaughn to sleep with?
Will you be sure to check out Dan J Kroll’s latest Beyond The Gates Commentary: Add It To The Long List of Mistakes I’ve Made?
Only tomorrow knows dear readers and I will tune in as long as there are tomorrows.
Tamilu

Ohhh this is awesome stuff.. two things I remember Maxi’s portrayer said that she would be back by December but that was before she had brain issues or something. And also Nathan I remember Ryan saying he was not going to come back for a vanilla storyline so something has to be coming up.
Next on “The Show Where The Writers Make Stuff Up As They Go Along!!!
From the things I’ve seen this week, I really believe that to be true.
I see they let Leo out of the Attic for Thanksgiving!!!
And Ned’s home.
When is he going to mention How and Why he suffered that “WidowMaker”?
Does No One care that Drew stole Tracy’s Boxes of Q Paraphernalia ??
Aren’t they going to DO something about it?
They care more about that Damned Turkey!
And again I ask, WHY is EwDrew hobbling around like Ebenezer Scrooge?
I still liked MY idea, for OutKast to steal the Turkey (cooked, of course), and bring it to the Critters in Dalton’s Lab, they would be Rescued, and OutKast would be the Hero!!!
Then Everyone could Celebrate with Pizza!!
What about the Critters??
Porthole and Gannon are Nauseating.
Trina needs a Smack.
Kai is Dull.
And don’t even get me started on Anti-Stella, Porkpie, Curtis, and Jordan!!
And Y’All thought the Quartermaines and Corinthii were bad!!
At the Moment, the Ashford’s top the Annoying Hypocrite List.
But really, if Curtis shot Drew, dontcha think he would have aimed correctly?
How can “Nathan” claim that Drew was shot by a “Professional”?
A “Professional” What? A Professional Wounder?
“Yes, I want you to Shoot the Conniving Congressman, but don’t aim well. Just make sure you leave him with a Pathetic Limp!”
~~
Oh Boy!!
They let Ace and Kevin out of the Attic as well.
Geez, how did Ace get to be so Blonde?
I’m glad Laura is telling Kevin the “Truth”.
~~~
Madame Wu!! So good to see her!!
However, we’re now supposed to believe that Curtis hired Selina to have Drew executed??
He really needs to demand a Refund!!!
Oh, damn. He chickened out.
~~~
And it’s about time Emma remembered that there’s Critters to be Rescued!!
I hope this goes well.
~~~
I like Jacinda, but she needs a lighter shade of Lipstick.
The dark colors make her lips look very thin.
A nice Frosty Plum might do the trick.
Or even a Muted Pink.
~~~
Next, on Tool Time!
You know, I was Delighted when Emma and Gio arrived at Sonny’s with The Dogs.
Gio lives there. Why did he knock/Ring the Doorbell? He lives there!!
Omg I want them all!! Especially the BIG Dogs!!
Then, not only is Ric a Party Pooper,
Dante is worse.
He Does NOT live there, yet he walks right in.
And Immediately starts in on Gio.
What a Tool.
Dante deserved a Left Hook.
Ric and Sonny were Refreshing!
I can see that both actors were great with the Dogs, which, of course earns my Vote!!
I need Fast Forward just for Trina And Kai .
Boring, Annoying, and Tedious Tools.
Omg I Despise all their scenes together.
I’m sorry that Chick cannot act.
While I HATED Molly walking into the Brown Dog and seeing Britt drooling all over Cooty (So. Predictabe).
I LOVED the Stone Cold and Britta scenes.
I really wish they would admit to each other they need to Jump Each Other’s Bones.
Smiley Cyrus! Now there’s a Nightmare for ya.
Esme looks Good, for Dead.
But, Not Dead for Good.
Is ANYONE on GH??
Dead for Good, that is.
Valentin!!!
Um, did you pop by to use Carly’s Shower?
Val can use My Shower any time!
