The spy games are heating up in Port Charles, but will justice ever prevail? Now that Willow has gotten away with attempted murder, will Michael become the prime suspect? Let’s discuss in an all-new General Hospital commentary for the week ending January 6, 2026.
Dear readers, Valentin made a pertinent point this week on General Hospital. He pitched his plan for Carly to break into Jack’s suite and take photos of the documents Jack was hiding. When Carly hesitated, Valentin said, “We could just stay the course, and you could continue to sleep with a man you despise.”
The spy who (hasn’t) shagged me
But does Carly despise Jack? I think she is furious at him for recruiting Joss, but I don’t think she despise him. Not in the gag-reflex way that Killow(Willow) despises Drew. But I digress.
Carly let herself into Jack’s suite and accidentally overheard Britt and Jack scheming. She quickly put on a bathrobe and tried to make it seem like she stopped by for secret sexy time with Jack. When IS the last time the spy actually shagged her? Carly has been pretty dodgy lately, like Pepe Le Peu’s cat girlfriend.
Spy games
Even though Carly was mostly naked, Jack was furious that she was in his suite. He made it clear that she could never do that again. So, whatever photos Carly took are the only ones she will ever get. No doubt Jack will move his hiding place, and Carly won’t dare go back.
I am so happy that James Patrick Stuart is back. I know he has other projects and he comes and goes, but I get downright giddy every time he is on my screen. He has that je ne sais quois of Tony Geary. A little lethal, but with a twinkle is his eye. I can’t adequately explain that quality, or why I am so drawn to it, but suffice it to say I’d let Valentin hide out in my attic, too.
The spy who loved me
Readers, I loved Anna and Valentine. Hopefully, he is the one who finds and rescues Anna from Pascal, the new slimy WSB Director Ross Cullum, and Sidwell, but do I think they will reunite as a couple? I don’t. I think I’d rather see Carly and Valentin have a fling. Their chemistry is unique and I’m invested.
Is JPS back for a long time or a little? I hope long. If we have to get rid of the whole lot of them, Jack, Pascal, Sidwell, Marcos, and Cullum to keep Valentin, I am okay with that.
Lies, spies, and Marco
I really like Marco, but he’s not good enough for my sweet Lucas. The worst part is, I am rooting for Brad even though I know he is also up to some shady things. But helping Selena run a poker game in a bar is better than holding people hostage in your basement, imho.
I have to admit, I feel a little sorry for Jack Brennan. He really can’t trust anyone. Collette was a double agent, unbeknownst to him, Cullum is also dirty, and even Jack’s girlfriend — whom I believe he genuinely loves — is working against him. Did Jack recruit Joss for the WSB? Yes, he did. But she did, in fact kill Cyrus and Jack did cover up for her. What Carly doesn’t know is that without Jack, Josslyn might have spent life in prison for murder.
Yes, I know that Joss killed him in self-defense, but she had no witnesses or proof of that, so it could have gone either way in court. Brennan offered Joss a way out, and she took it. Certainly, he has been lying to Carly all this time, but Joss is also lying to her mom. As Carly recently pointed out to Valentin, she is used to hanging out with criminals, all of whom have lied to her at some point.
Revisiting General Hospital’s past
Is what Carly is doing akin to Brenda wearing a wire on Sonny?
Carly could have just confronted Jack or Josslyn at any time, even though Jason warned her not to — because when did she ever listen to Jason? I feel like if Joss said, “Hey mom, I know you’re angry, but I murdered Cyrus and Jack got rid of the body.” Maybe Carly wouldn’t be so mad.
No killer consequences on General Hospital
But with all the lying liars in Port Charles, no one tops Willow.
Willow shot Drew twice in the back and has managed to fool the entire town into thinking she’s a poor innocent waif framed by her evil ex-husband Michael. The day the truth finally comes out, and Drew knows Willow shot him in cold blood and then married him to get away with it, I am going to toast the sky with Champagne.
I want Drew to know his angel Willow is a wannabe killer. I want him to know that Willow hates him as much as everyone else in Port Charles does. Oh, the look on his face will be priceless.
No redemption
Despite the fact that Alexis’ superb lawyering skills got Willow a “Not Guilty” verdict, we know that Willow is guilty. How can she ever be redeemed? How can we root for Michael to reunite with a psycho who is a danger to him, Wiley and Amelia? We can’t. She is now in the Nelle category, unable to be rehabilitated. She has gone from heroine to villain with no clear path back.
Certainly, a clever writer could write a very soapy plot to get her there, a DID storyline, a brain tumor, a brainwashing by Helena’s ghost, etc. But it would take something truly extraordinary to get Willow back to the troubled but sweet lady we once rooted for.
Primal fear
All that having been said, Katelyn MacMullen has been playing whatever craziness they throw at her with mad skill. All this time there was plenty of reasonable doubt that Willow shot Drew. We knew it was possible, but not everyone was convinced. Like in Primal Fear, when Ed Norton goes from shy, stuttering boy to maniacal killer, Willow had the flashback of shooting Drew, and it took my breath away. All that time she spent speculating on who may have done it, knowing full well that she did it. Willow has ice water in her veins.
Eyes wide shut
I am also looking forward to the day Chase discovers that Willow is guilty. He jeopardized his career and made waves in his marriage by trying to help and protect Willow. Everyone in town, up to and including Sonny, cannot conceive of the fact that Willow could have done this. When Chase with his sweet, innocent eyes looked at Alexis during Friday’s episode in the courtroom and thanked Alexis for getting Willow off because he firmly believes that Willow could not have possibly done such a thing, I bet Alexis threw up in her mouth a little.
Trouble on Spoon Island
Across town, a genuine heroine, Anna Devane, is fighting for her freedom. She tried to convince Pascal that she needed medical help — and was successful in getting the best of him — until an entirely new villain, Director Ross Cullum thwarted her efforts. I thought for sure Valentin would come barreling around the corner and find her, but that was not in the cards. It’s not that Valentin didn’t try to get into the secret tunnels of Wyndemere, it’s that Ava took his button away and sealed the entrance. A very unfortunate circumstance.
Head games
Pascal has apparently given Anna something that caused her to hallucinate Liesl Obrecht and to hear Faison’s voice. Since there was a cigarillo burning in the ashtray, I can only assume they are purposely trying to gaslight Anna and drive her mad.
Readers, maybe I am naïve, but is it possible that Sidwell is unaware of this side project that Pascal is working on? Sidwell is holding Anna hostage, yes. However, he’s made her fairly comfortable, ensured she was being fed, and as kidnappers go, wasn’t such a terrible host.
I think Pascal and our new creepy WSB Director may be the ones conducting experiments on Anna or gaslighting her into fearing a dead man. I will say it was lovely to hear Anders Hove’s voice, and I hope Pascal has some AI program that lets us “see” Faison like a giant Wizard of Oz head on Anna’s wall.
Anna got a blood treatment, and I was glad someone finally remembered she was sick.
Doctor, doctor
We have a new doctor that Anna thinks is Obrecht. However, the real Obrecht was at General Hospital making peace with her daughter Britta and making plans to cheer on Rocco’s hockey game. Definitely not doing anything diabolical at all.
I loved Jason and Britt’s date. I was very surprised that Carly was able to contain herself and not blurt out what she overheard Britt saying to Jack when Carly was eavesdropping. Thankfully, Britt and Jason got to have a nice evening out to remember those feelings they once shared and start rebuilding their relationship. I can’t be mad at Britt for keeping Jason in the dark about all the Faison stuff. She understands that he would be in danger if he knew. Jason keeps offering to help her, but Britt wants to keep him far away from Sidwell.
Readers, I am sorry that this is already so long and I have so much more to discuss. May I just say that General Hospital is so riveting to me right now. I am interested in every plot, and there are zero storylines that I am fast forwarding.
General Hospital’s love in the afternoon
I love the budding romance between Gio and Emma. I enjoyed Friday’s episode where they both spoke about one another’s lives and offered comfort, support, and help getting unstuck. Gio was so tender when Emma admitted that she missed Anna. I wish I could scream into the TV “Your grandma didn’t leave you on purpose! Go find her and spring her like you did the lab dogs!”
Meanwhile, Emma helped Gio see he could return to school and take some classes without committing to a future in music. He gave her the safe space to announce she has decided to become a veterinarian. They have such a healthy and sweet relationship. I love them together.
Molly and Cody
Truthfully, Emma and Gio are further along in their relationships than Molly and Codym who have just barely stumbled into the beginning of a real relationship after months of near misses. It took me a really long time to warm up to Kristen Vaganos, but I have come to embrace her portrayal of Molly. I needed to see the softer side of Molly and we are finally here.
The girl who wrote love stories in her teens is back at it and she has found her own real-life cowboy.
My one issue is not with this storyline, but with General Hospital’s penchant for disappearing characters never to be mentioned again. Molly was married to a guy named T.J. Did I miss their divorce? Did I miss him quitting his job at General Hospital? Where did he go? Maybe he’s hanging out somewhere with Trina’s father Taggert. The man who raised Trina for her entire life and then just got tossed aside the day Portia said Curtis was Trina’s dad.
That bugged me. Real Andrews deserved a better send off than us watching him chug liquor with a broken heart only to never be mentioned by Trina again. Now that Trina’s so mad at Portia for lying, it seems like Taggert would have been her first call. “Hey Dad, Mom’s at it again, cheating on Curtis and getting knocked up.” But no, he never seems to cross her mind. Poof.
You know I wish that I had Maxie’s guy
Now readers, don’t be mad at me, but I think we have another potential new romance on our hands. Lulu and Nathan have been spending lots of time together, and Maxie is still in a coma, while Lulu is free and clear of all commitments. I just feel like one of these long and lonely nights, Lulu and Nathan are going to kiss. (Which will probably happen like a month before Maxie wakes up, comes home, finds Nathan alive and kissing her BFF.)
Every time Lulu and Nathan talk about how similar their circumstances are, being taken from their lives and dropped back in years later only to find the world kept moving on without them, I feel like it’s setting the stage for that. I wanted Dante and Lulu to reunite, but he’s still reeling from the grief over losing Sam and trying to run the PCPD in Anna’s absence.
If Michael gets accused of Drew’s shooting, Dante will have to recuse himself from the case.
The truth is out there
But we know that Kai and Trina know the truth about who shot Drew. Kai is kind of a wimp and may not come forward, but Trina would not be able to live with herself if she let Michael go to prison for a crime she knows he did not commit. This story just keeps getting messier and messier!
I was glad to see Jacinda stuck around and didn’t take the money and run away. It would be very tempting to do so. Anytime I mention a place to travel, my husband always says, “I can be packed in 20 minutes.” Ha. The fact that Jacinda opted to stick around means her feelings for Michael are legitimate. And after having to sleep with Ezra Boyle for money, the girl deserves a happy ending.
Martin and Tracy bury the hatchet
Another happy ending of sorts, Laura convinced Martin and Tracy to call a truce because she can’t bear their one upmanship bickering anymore. It’s kind of a shame that Martin and Laura are siblings because Michael E Knight and Genie Francis would make such a fun couple.
Alexis needs a love interest
You know who else needs a love interest? Alexis.
I mean this woman has been through so much in the past few years. Didn’t Neil die in 2020? Has she had a love interest since then? There was a flirtation with Gregory, but that never went anywhere. Sure, she had Ric locked in her basement, but no one in her bed. I loved the scene with Alexis and Sonny. Maurice Benard and Nancy Lee Grahn have always had that chemistry, it’s never faded.
Sonny absolved Alexis for casting doubt on Michael to free Willow. He understood that Alexis was trying to save Scout. Could the two of them team up to save Michael if he is charged? After all, Alexis knows that Michael is innocent. That might draw Kristina’s parents back together again. Who knows?
What will happen tomorrow, dear readers?
Will Drew keep his promise to Alexis and let her see Scout, or will he snatch Scout away again? Will James get into more mischief that requires Lulu and Nathan to tag team parent him? Is Olivia going to get her newly gifted rifle out and finish the job that Willow started once Olivia stews a few more days about Drew leaving Ned to die on the sidewalk?
Will Liz and Jason get to have another conversation this year since they already had that one? Is Britt going to end up Chief of Staff again when Portia goes on maternity leave since Terry has vanished along with TJ and Taggert? (Hey, why is it all T names???) Will Liz’s kids ever come back home since summer is over and they should be back in school by now? (Jake should be 17, and Aiden should be 15.)
Will General Hospital just randomly decide they want Mercy Hospital and take it by force if they won’t sell? I hear that’s a thing.
Will any General Hospital villains ever pay for their crimes?
Only tomorrow knows dear readers, and I will tune in tomorrow as long as there are tomorrows.

Agree to disagree – Willow can be redeemed. She has descended into anger and payback, but it is all based off her Savior complex gone wrong. She got bored and placed her trust on the wrong man and it backfired spectacularly. It is not like Nelle – who held a grievence for decades and sttempt to take out three generations of family as retribution.
Willow has a chance to return to her former sweet self if she gets the mental health therapy she nevver received post leaving the cult, learning her bio son died, lossing her teacher career, her transference of all those maternal feelings onto Wiley and being a mom, her learning of her birth origin, and….dealing with Nina, her birth mother, and ….dealing with Cancer, and then Drew’s stalking of her. (Yes, she was an active part of that and I blame the cult/ Savior complex). That is enough to cause anyone to go off the rails. IMHO – We don’t know why Willow stole the gun. she must have felt the need for lethal protection means available in her car? But the decision to shoot Drew was made in the heat of anger at starting over on the custody trial and that anger was all Drew.
Willow’s climb out of the pit she has dug for herself would be good to see – because NIna is still trying to control her, and Drew is not yet ready to give her up. K MacM could rock this climb with all the pathos and anger of seeing what she did to herself and then learning to live as her own person. This is something that I would watch.
Willow CAN be redeemed. But there’s what can theoretically happen, and then there’s what’s practical. I’m inclined to agree with the columnist.
First of all, because of Willow. The main thing she has to do, before any psychological counseling, is admit she’s made terrible mistakes and take responsibility for them. Right now, it’s Michael’s fault she can’t see her kids, it’s Nina’s fault she threw away her marriage on Drew, Carly’s mean to her, etc. This persecution complex is one of the ways she is exactly like Nelle. Another is that she’s a shameless liar. There is no hint of guilt with her. This makes me think the show is going to take her as far as they can as a twisted schemer.
Because GH does not have good recent history of redeeming characters. They hinted at it with Nelle, Esme, Julian, Cyrus and Peter to name a handful, only for every single one of them to go completely off the rails before their deaths (or apparent deaths). Britt was pretty well turned around before her “death”. She’s so prickly and involved in something so clearly unethical right now, it’s hard to tell which way she’s going to go though. I think she’ll probably end up in the Sonny/Ava camp where she doesn’t particularly want to do awful things, but there are times she can’t help herself. The only completely reformed character in recent history was Franco. And he got a terminal brain tumor and bullet to the chest for his efforts.
I main the minority on this, but I find the WSB storyline boring. I like Carly and Valentin teaming to take down Jack, but the rest of it puts me to sleep. Send Joss back to med school. 😆
Agree!!
TJ and Molly were not married. TJ and Molly were “domestic partners”. They never got tired of using the term to describe their relationship.
Chase to BLQ, “You must really think I’m a fool?” YEAH!!!!
Alexis is a fool if she really believes that Drew is going to allow her, Molly, and Kristina see Scout. Drew will always use Scout as a weapon.
I was disappointed that Willow was found “not guilty”. She is really deserving of a major smackdown. But, I understand that the verdict gives the writers more leeway for future story lines. Now that Willow cannot be tried twice for the same crime, perhaps she can “confess” to Drew that she shot him. She would probably enjoy telling him. I so want to see Drews’ face, and that of Chase, when it is revealed that Willow did indeed shoot Drew.
Kai and Trina should have gone to Turner or Dante with their evidence against Willow. What’s a little B&E when it helps you convict an attempted murderer? Now that Trina and Kai are out there, I don’t see how they can charge Michael. Even if they did, Diane would defend him and she knows about Trina and Kai and their evidence implicating Willow. This where it gets interesting. What Trina and Kai know will ensure that Willow
never gets custody of Wiley and Amelia. The writers could be setting up Willow for another giant meltdown, just when she thinks she got away with every thing. She’s probably as over confident as Drew right now.
Diane does NOT know about Kai and Trina. Alexis never mentioned their names. She only told Diane someone came forward and told her about the ringtone.
This information can’t be used in the visitation hearing to keep Willow from seeing her children. Michael doesn’t know about it and Kai and Trina won’t tell him.
Willow is not going to want anyone to know she shot Drew. It would not help her custody case. And she wants Michael to take the fall for the shooting. I wonder if she could still be charged for crimes aside from attempted murder as well. The obvious one would be stealing the gun. A decent lawyer could probably argue that is too close to the attempted murder charge to get around double jeopardy though.
Even with the advantageous verdict, I don’t think everything is going to go as Willow hopes it will. When those three idiots Drew, Nina and Willow were discussing how Michael would go to jail and Willow would get her kids back, it was almost laughable how delusional they are. It is a practical impossibility to try two different people for the same crime unless there had been exonerating evidence at the first trial. Which there was not. The case against Michael would be just as circumstantial as the one against Willow, and all Diane would have to do to offer a plausible alternative suspect is to repeat Turner’s closing argument from Willow’s trial. There’s your reasonable doubt, and Michael goes home. Not to mention Sonny would never let him get convicted. If he bribed/threatened a juror in Trina’s trial, just think what he would do for Michael.
As for Turner, she makes political decisions, but she’s also an ethical and sensible person. She’s not going to go around charging all of the suspects until she can convict one of them. Especially one who is a father with young children. And who I think she likes better than Willow and certainly much, much better than Drew.
Greetings and Salutations!
Random Observations, jotted down while viewing:
Okay, the Expression on Willow’s Face after she rejected EwDrew and his suggestion that “…the Shirt can Wait…Mrs. Cain!….” was hysterical.
She was literally walking away saying “Eeeewwww!”
I’d feel bad for her, except she’s dug her Own Proverbial Grave

So Obnoxious Kai and Trina go to WHO with their Evidence?
The Broad who’s trying to get Wallow Acquitted???
Duh.
~~~
Spit it out, Ned!!
Drew left you for DEAD after stealing your Family’s Tchotchkes!!
Good! He finally told them.
Now maybe Livvie can Cast a Spell on Congressman Jazz Hands and Send him to Mars or something.
Though I did enjoy her wielding that Shotgun.
Send him to Mars with that!
Anna’s exhibiting concerning symptoms.
She had that blood disorder; has she been getting treatment in the Catacombs?
Or does she have Some Other Disease now?
Yay! Diane’s back!! Broken Leg and all!
I was wondering if Ms. Hennessy had injured herself on the Trapeze (She’s an Expert!) but, alas, it turns out she was trying to avoid her dog and went flying.
Sort of an Ironic, Alanis Morrisette Kinda Thing.
Darned Kids.
Hey, maybe Diane can run EwDrew over with her Turbo-Charged Wheelchair!
She could be like, “Oops!”
Ruh Roh.
Carly and Val, AND Anna are Snagged.
Boy, Droopy Dawg sure is Crabby!!
And who is Sidwell’s Creepy New Fiend?
Oh Boy!! Now Ava has made Pascal think that she knows about Anna.
Of course, she was referring to Val.
Betcha Val finds Anna.
Not if Jenz finds him first.
Oh No! Looks as if Anna really IS Stricken with her Exotic Blood Disorder.
I wonder if the Writers (who Hate Us, BTW) even know what’s gonna happen next?
Perhaps Kai and Trina will figure it out.
Brad is an Idiot. But I like him onscreen.
Britt was cute when Jason asked her out.
I’d love to see them be the Next Big Thing, but since The Writers Hate Us And We Can’t Have Nice Things, well, Y’All know the rest.
This New WSB Dude is Creepy.
He looks like a Wax Figurine.
So.
If Jason is such an Excellent Marksman, why did he Fail Miserably at Ax Throwing?
Ah, he Let Britt win, huh.
Is Anna hallucinating or is Frau Blücher really there?
Wait, she’s at GH at the same time.
A Liesl Doppelganger?
Or is Anna dreaming?
Nah, she was just hallucinating.
Courtesy of Pascal, evidently.
Evidently the Wax Figurine from the WSB is having Pascal Gaslight Anna.
You know who I wish would go away?
Kai and Trina.
Who died and left THEM Judge and Jury?
I don’t care if Trina’s correct in everything she’s saying to Alexis…again.
She’s WAY Out of Line.
These kids needs to Stay In Their Own Lane, or take that Fork in the Road Straight to the Cornfield.
I’m pretty sure everyone else is too busy Living Their Own Lives to miss them.
I know I wouldn’t.
Those Idiots should have gone to Turner.
Speaking of Idiots.
Chase.
I like that Emma wants to get into Veterinary Medicine.
One of my Best Friends from High School (back in the Stone Age) was a Total Animal Person, he raised and showed German Shorthaired Pointers and went to Veterinary College.
For a while, then he switched to Human Medicine and became a Chiropractor.
Why?
Veterinary Medicine was just Too Difficult!!
And this is a Smart Guy!!
I can see Emma doing that.
GH needs more Doctors!!
Molly and TJ were never married. Molly didn’t feel the need. They were domestic partners and therefore no divorce was necessary.
I agree that Carly is furious with Jack for recruiting Joss, but I don’t believe she despises him. Once she learns the whole story, she might even be grateful he saved her daughter from possible prison time. Besides, Joss is a grown woman who can make up her own mind. Joss chose to become a WSB agent. Jack did not force her. He did not threaten to expose her for killing Cyrus if she didn’t agree to become an agent. It gave her a purpose and she needed that. After this mission is complete, she may decide life in the WSB isn’t for her. She can leave. Anna did.
The way Valentin manipulates Carly is really interesting to watch. His comment about ‘sleeping with a man she despises’ seems to have hit a nerve. Do you think Carly will eventually confront him about this? Or is she too wrapped up in her own vendetta?
Take Mercy hospital by force, hahaha, Tamilu, you are funny. Remember when Stefan was running GH? I could see him saying “we can do this the easy way or we can do this the hard way”. LOL
I still think that it is possible that Michael saw Willow shoot Drew as he looked through the window (which he does a lot.) He might have some control over her in the future if that is true. I would like that twist.
I’m so not on board with this idea that Brennan somehow ’saved’ Joss and that she would have gone to prison otherwise. She shot a SERIAL KILLER who was coming directly at her and for her, and who was being actively pursued by multiple law enforcement agencies. If Brennan hadn’t been there, already lurking after manipulating her into being exactly there, she would have called any one of a number of people who actually cared about her and would have guided her far better in her state of shock (on top of her grief over Dex.)
There’s not a prosecutor who would have pursued murder charges and even if there were, not an attorney who wouldn’t make mincemeat of the case nor a jury who would have convicted her.
Brennan straight u, coldly, and deliberately manipulated Joss into this, after weeks of deliberate grooming, starting with his ‘what a great guy/listener’ conversation with Joss at Carly’s for the holidays. She was in no way in any kind of mental state to make a sound decision. It’s despicable.
Sorry Ruth, this was meant to be its own comment and I must have tapped wrong to make it a reply by mistake! 🙂
Jack Brennan led Jocelyn on the path to investigate Dex’s murder because he saw her potential as an agent. That path led her to kill Cyrus. He may have covered it up after the fact but that wasn’t for Carly that was protecting his new asset.
Now that we know Willow shot Drew, I will say that I do believe that she was genuinely surprised when she was arrested at the therapy session with Michael and the kids after they found the gun in her room at Elizabeth’s. I believe that she had put the gun back at the Quartermaines, so she knew there was no reason for them to find it in her room. For that reason, I do believe that Michael did plant the gun in Willow’s room. Maybe he truly believed that she killed Drew and after finding out about the warrant, suspected she put the gun back in house. Or maybe he just didn’t trust her judgment after getting back with Drew and wanted to protect the kids, so he planted the gun on her to solve that issue.
Jason already knows that Britt is involved with Sidwell and whatever he’s up to. If Carly let it slip what she overheard in Jack’s room, all that would do is make Jason want to help Britt even more. It means that Britt is in even more danger with Sidwell, and he would also want her out from under Jack and the WSB’s thumb.
Molly was never married to TJ. One of their big issues earlier on in their relationship is that she never wanted to get married. They registered as life partners I believe.
I have tended to believe Michael planted the gun at Elizabeth’s too, given how surprised Willow was that it was found in her room. But a question I have: How did Michael know which gun in Edward’s collection to plant? How did he know which one was the weapon used to shoot Drew? Unless he did actually see Willow at Drew’s with the specific gun in her hands. I wish he had, and then planted the gun after he realized she returned it, and I had hoped they were going to show us that Michael saw her. That would’ve made the whole dynamic between Michael & Willow more interesting. I guess they could still go down this road, but it will have lost some of its impact – this should’ve happened during the trial, when they revealed Willow as the shooter.
Reposting this on its own because I accidentally made it a reply to an unrelated comment the first time, oops!
Thanks for another great column.
I too am fast forwarding a lot less than in recent memory (but still do it a bit because I find it hard to hear/see DrEWW and the Kai/Trina sitting-and-talking scenes seem like filler that don’t progress the narrative or their characters/relationship).
LET US NEVER SPEAK OF THIS (THEM AGAIN)
I agree with your comment about the complete silence about TJ and Taggart.
It especially bugs me because it would be SO EASY to address – by just sprinkling in a mention or two with an explanation for their absences (both of which could be as simple as taking a special assignment (medical or law enforcement) to recover from life-shattering personal matters).
This situation is akin to the slew of dropped story lines that never resolved and continue to bug me (Austin Gatlin Holt’s murder, Austin Gatlin Holt’s ‘she’ boss, Cyrus’ murder, Jagger’s murder, Ava’s stalker, Willow’s visions of Harmony, and I could go on). I just want to know what the (mostly former) writers were originally planning.
WAIT, I HAVE A THEORY (ok two)
1. I think gaslighting Anna might be because they think she has info about Faison that the bad guys need.
In any event, I hope they give a reason for it. So many things in the real world seem random/meaningless. Part of why I like soap and fiction is general because it tends to have more reasonable (or sometimes ridiculously outlandish) explanation.
2. I still think Willow might have DID.
At least that would explain why all of the recent eye rolls and behind-the-back ‘yucks’ aimed at DrEWW haven’t been going on all along.
(Or maybe the writers just expect us to assume she’s felt this way the whole time and the camera’s just not been showing her face.)
