There’s no holiday cheer in Port Charles these days. The evidence is piling up against Willow, Sonny and Laura are caught in Sidwell’s net, and Portia’s family is unaware of the bombshell she’s hiding. It’s a bah humbug kind of General Hospital commentary for the week ending December 12, 2025.
It feels a bit like the Grinch stole Christmas from General Hospital. Christmas is two weeks away, but nary a Christmas tree can be seen. No cheerful lights, no mistletoe, no Poinsettias in sight. Not even a strand of garland twinkling to signal that soon St. Nick will be visiting. Instead, we get eyelid mites and Pascal serving up Petits Fours with an evil sneer. What’s up with that?
Who shot Drew?
It’s only been a little over three months since someone took two shots at Drew – and still managed not to kill him – but it feels like it’s been 84 years. I think it has something to do with just how detestable Drew has grown since his brush with death. Every second that Drew is on my television screen has been like nails on a chalkboard. Drew no longer hides the evil in him. It hovers around him like a noxious cloud. More than ever, I believe that Drew only sees Willow as a means to an end. That end is to take everything that Michael holds dear.
I don’t see love when Drew looks at Willow; I see desperation. Drew will say and do anything to get Willow, not because he loves her but rather because he has to have her. For all of Drew’s insistence that he’s certain Willow didn’t shoot him, I’m starting to think that he simply just doesn’t care if she did. Drew’s only objective is for Michael to see that Drew won; Drew has Michael’s wife – and soon he will have Michael’s children.
It’s vile and diabolical. I hate that poor Scout is stuck with that monster for a parent and Willow for a stepmother. I want the General Hospital writers to find a way to give custody of Scout to Alexis. They owe us that for ripping Sam out of that child’s life. I watch soaps for adult dramas, not to see children suffer.
Side note: Every time Drew hobbles into a scene with that cane, I see in my mind’s eye Jason kick it out from under Drew. That scene at the Brown Dog lives rent-free in my head. 🤣
Poor unfortunate Willow
Things don’t look good for Willow. Not only is her trial for Drew’s attempted murder around the corner, but new evidence surfaced painting a damaging picture of her whereabouts that fateful night. Street cameras caught a distraught Willow on Drew’s street at the time of the crime, and leaving shortly afterwards. Willow insisted that she just drove by, but Willow is a proven liar when it comes to declarations of innocence. At least with the viewers.
Viewers know that Willow has slipped into the Quartermaine mansion on several occasions and messed with baby Daisy to teach Michael and Sasha a lesson. We’ve also seen her recent confession to Nina that she didn’t need to love Drew to marry him. For Willow, it’s all about getting her kids back. To do that, Willow needs to be acquitted of attempted murder. Willow is certain that a jury would be persuaded of her innocence if she walked in on the arm of the man she was accused of shooting. She assumes that a jury is as gullible as Chase.
A loyal lapdog
Chase has become Willow’s fiercest defender. Unlike Nina, who justifies all of Willow’s worst impulses, Chase genuinely believes that Willow is incapable of wrongdoing. Yet, he’s caught her twice now sneaking onto the Q estate. And don’t get me started on all the lies she’s told Chase over the years. Somehow, he’s forgotten all of that and is ready to put his career on the line to clear her name.
I was so happy that Brook Lynn walked in before the idiot let Willow sneak a visit with Wiley and Amelia. It seems Chase refuses to come between a mother and her children, but he has no qualms about coming between a father and his children. It’s why I have lost all respect for Chase. He’s blind to Willow’s faults much like he was blind to Nelle’s faults. Too bad he wasn’t around to hear Wiley’s conversation with Michael when Michael broke the news to his son that Willow had married “Uncle Drew.”
Out of the mouths of babes
If there was any doubt that the children needed to be safeguarded from Willow, it vanished when Wiley panicked at the thought of having to live at Drew’s house. Wiley made it very clear that he and Amelia didn’t like it there. It broke my heart hearing that, even though they are fictional children. Viron Weaver is such a good little actor. He owned that scene. 👏
Willow isn’t evil, but she is very much a broken person. She’s always been fractured because she was raised in a cult and groomed by a woman who had no business raising a child. Willow needs to face the consequences of her actions, get some real help, and make amends to those she has wronged before I want to see her around the kids.
It’s a soap opera, so all it will take is a well-crafted storyline by our talented General Hospital writers.
Baby, baby
Things are heating up at General Hospital. Portia’s baby secret is out. Well, sort of. Everyone knows that Portia is pregnant, but not that Isaiah could be the father. I can’t see that lasting much longer because Isaiah has it bad for Portia. It’s really kind of sad because viewers know that Portia has only told him half-truths since their affair started. Isaiah knows the woman that Portia wants him to see not the real Portia.
I had hoped that Isaiah would take a moment to question Portia when he learned about Drew’s blackmail. At the very least, have him question whether he really knew Portia, but he didn’t. What Portia did wasn’t a little thing. She falsified a patient’s labs and supplied a prostitute with a powerful drug to use on a sitting congressman. Portia could do serious time behind bars if she ever faced charges for those crimes. When he learns the truth, he’s not going to be able to brush it off or sweep it under the rug. If he does, he’s not the honorable man I believe him to be.
Curtis is no saint, but he was always the one left trying to clean up Portia’s messes. If Isaiah isn’t careful, he will be replacing Curtis as Portia’s clean-up crew.
Blind loyalty
I love Trina, but I’m incredibly disappointed in her these days. I miss the old Trina who could see through people’s bullcrap. She was always a great judge of character and could read people like a book. It’s how she knew that Esme was rotten to the core from the start. Trina was wise beyond her years, fair-minded, and she listened. I could never see the old Trina treating Jordan – her cousin’s mother – like the town floozy. Trina cares about people, especially family, and she has a kind heart, but she’s no fool. Until this mess.
I feel like our General Hospital scribes dumbed Trina down and have made her confrontational thinking that it makes her edgier. It doesn’t. It makes her judgy and wrong. Obviously, Trina is being set up for a big fall when she learns that it was her mother’s lies and secrets that led to the breakdown of her parents’ marriage — not Jordan — but it could have been done without making Trina look so incredibly wrong about everything.
The Justice-ish League
Sidwell set a trap for Laura and ended up snaring both Laura and Sonny. However, Sidwell bit off more than he can chew because there is no way he will prevail over Sonny and Laura – and Jason. That’s not how things roll on General Hospital.
I know there are those who despise Sonny because he’s technically a bad guy. It’s true that Sonny is a mobster and that both he and Jason have killed people carrying out their crimes. Not too long ago, we watched Sonny kill a federal agent in cold blood. But Jagger’s hands weren’t clean, so he got what he deserved. Sonny isn’t an ordinary bad guy; he’s an antihero. So is Jason for that matter.
Dirty fighters
I’m happy that Laura called Sonny when she found Dalton in the trunk. If she hadn’t, she would have been at Sidwell’s mercy alone. Sidwell is a dirty fighter, and he’s going to use underhanded tactics to carry out whatever evil he’s plotting. It’s going to take someone willing to go outside the bounds of the law to take Sidwell down. I say that simply because we’ve seen Sidwell get away with crimes that he shouldn’t have. Those same forces will continue to protect Sidwell as he wreaks havoc on Port Charles.
I love that Laura has Sonny and Jason watching her back. It’s going to be wonderful watching the three of them take Sidwell, and his little sidekick Pascal, down.
A gaged bird
Meanwhile, Anna is languishing in Wyndemere’s catacombs. Once she figures that out, Sidwell’s little birdy will fly the coop and join Valentin. I’m delighted that the writers are putting all the chess pieces into place for an epic showdown with all the town’s key players. I’m excited to see how it will all unfold because there are so many fantastic possibilities. What’s important though is that Sidwell falls. If he takes his minions Pascal, that weasel Ezra Boyle, Marco, and Drew with him even better. Wipe the slate clean just in time for the New Year.
I know, it’s wishful thinking, but this is General Hospital where anything is possible. Most importantly, justice always prevails and evildoers like Sidwell are eventually vanquished.
The infamous catacombs
What Sidwell fails to appreciate is that everyone in town is familiar with Wyndemere’s catacombs. Half the town has been imprisoned in them at one time or another and the other half has rescued people from them.
There’s also a good chance that Wyndemere’s former owner could realize that there’s something hinky about Anna’s sudden WSB assignment, figure out what Sidwell is up to, and pay the catacombs a visit. Or Valentin could just stumble upon Anna during a surprise visit with Sidwell. Either way, Anna will soon be gone and Sidwell will be a dead man walking. I can’t wait.
Who will be Sidwell’s undoing? Will it be Sonny and Laura, Valentin and Anna — or Jason and Britt?
How bizarre, how bizarre
This week, General Hospital gave us a PSA about Demodex Blepharitis also known as eyelid mites. It was strange. What prompted this? Is it Demodex Blepharitis Awareness Month? Usually, PSAs are about things that could greatly debilitate or even kill someone, not something that is easily treatable.
Also, what a waste of Becky Herbst’s talent. That’s the best the writers can come up with for Elizabeth? What’s next? Toe fungus? How about giving that lady a real storyline? I’d love for Jason to get tired of Britt’s BS and start looking in Liz’s direction. Put Ric’s redemption tour to the test.
Port Charles Potpourri
Some quick thoughts about other things going on in and around Port Charles.
Someone needs to clean house at the Port Charles Police Department’s crime lab. Not only have they seemingly not processed the bat found at the scene of Drew’s shooting that has Kai’s fingerprints all over it, but it seems they mislabeled a traffic camera. They really need to hire Spinelli.
I don’t understand why Britt is so reluctant to trust Jason to help her. Everything he told her during Friday’s episode was true. Something about that “medicine” she’s been taking is off, and the key to her freedom could be analyzing it. Either they will get the compound for the miracle drug or expose the lie for what it is. Come on, writers, stop writing Britt so weak – and stupid.
Why does anyone listen to Lucy? That woman only cares about herself, and she has proven herself to be a lousy businesswoman. How many times has she bankrupted Deception or nearly driven it into the ground? The only reason Lucy trusts Sidwell is because he strokes her ego and dangles his wealth. I really wish Brook Lynn and Felicia had refused to go along with Sidwell’s demands. Everything about controlling those shipments sounded sketchy and they both knew it.
What General Hospital Viewers Are Saying
We love reading what other fans have to say about the show, so please scroll down to the Comments section and share your thoughts. It’s at the bottom of this (and every) column.
“Agree so much with you, Liz, about Tracy not being told about Ned’s heart attack. That’s just wrong on so many levels. I loved that Laura won the election and love, love, love the scenes with Sonny. Really love Rocco, Danny & Charlotte, their love for one another & determination to protect each other. I’ve been watching GH 59 years now, and this is the making of our next generation of characters & the future of GH.” — Kay
“I just want the majority of the storylines to wrap – quickly. I want to see what happens with Sidwell, as it is the only thing worth watching. Add in Valentin, who has implied he knows more than he will volunteer, plus a missing Vaughn, and you have a great storyline for the next two months.” — Humor Me
Lucas ignoring red flags and good advice
(9+) Like every person he just wants love. They writers should really have someone worthy of him
Carly tries to call the shots when Valentin shows up on her doorstep
(9+) Jason is going to flip tables.
Cyrus and Esme make an appearance
Holly Knight on X: “@LizMastersSC That was so fun!” / X
(9+) I was blown away! And expected Spencer after Esme. No such luck!
Before you check out
Dan J Kroll’s latest Beyond The Gates commentary is sooo good. He talks about Greg Vaughn’s (ex-Lucky Spencer) new character, Kail! Yes, that’s really the way his name is spelled.
Click here to treat yourself to a great read.
Happy viewing,

What did you think of Nina’s nasty attitude towards Michael and jacinda on Friday’s episode?
You mean the Pot calling the Kettle Black?
LOL! Exactly!
Brennan was supposedly demoted to being a “local” WSB office chief, but he sure acts like he’s the head of the whole WSB. It is also odd, if not suspicious that Brennan really believes that Anna is on assignment with the WSB when in fact she is being held by Sidwell.
Marco has gone full blown gangster.
When TPTB decided to have Drew survive the shooting, they eliminated a lot of suspects. Curtis was a cop and knows how to handle a gun. He would not have missed. A professional hit would have meant one bullit to the body and one to the head. The PCPD and ADA Turner need to realize that the shooter is someone who can’t shoot straight or didn’t want Drew dead, just punished. That’s why I think it was Willow.
Willow keeps saying that she was just driving around and didn’t know where she was going. If you’re driving a car, you are paying attention or you’re having an accident. Later she flat out lies when she tells Chase and BLQ that the charges against her are being dropped.
I’ve mentioned before that I believe Willows’ future on GH is as a new , younger version of Heather Webber. Both are obssessed with their children and both are mentally unstable. I don’t think the character can be redeemed at this point.
Why did Gannon go to Portias’ room when he knew that both Curtis and Trina were there? This guy has issues. When you examine his short relationship with Jordan and his now short relationship with Portia, the guy seems kind of obsessive.
Chase is a fool, and not even a good detective. He is intent on proving that Willow is innocent by implicating someone else, but throwing suspicion on someone else doesn’t make Willow innocent. He is not looking for or following up on evidence that points to Willow. He is willing to investigate anyone but Willow. I do hope that Dante shows Chase the footage of her in her car at Drews. I can’t wait for him to explain that away.
Merry Christmas, Liz! Thank you for the shot out!
Happy Holidaze that Drew’s memories return and he does know who shot him (I still think it is that ringtone).
I cannot believe how STUPID and UNLIKEABLE Chase has become. He is an officer of the court but told Michael if he issues him a subpoena he won’t say anything. If Michael also issues a subpoena to Brook Lynn, Chase will have put her in a bad position. If Chase doesn’t tell the truth when he’s on the stand during the visitation hearing, Brook Lynn will either have to commit perjury herself to protect him or if she tells the truth, Chase will not only lose his job but go to prison for perjury. The fact that Chase would risk his career, his freedom AND Brook Lynn’s FOR WILLOW, is unconscionable. That should be a BIG red flag to Brook Lynn about Chase’s feelings for his ex-wife.
Soapy Greetings from the Cornfield Y’All!!
My Armchair Critic’s Opinions, jotted down as I viewed during the week.
Our Boyfriend’s Back and He Jumped Out Of an Airplane!
Heyla, Heyla, Our Boyfriend’s Back!
Val must have been watching “Air Disasters” while he was in Steinmaur.
Pretty Amazing Aircraft Athletics Val pulled off, there, taking over, Piloting the Jet to a Safe Altitude, and then jumping out (with a Parachute of course).
I’d love to see how he pulled that off.
~~~
I don’t like Marco.
(I never liked Marco.)
I really don’t like Pascal.
I don’t trust “Nathan” one bit.
Dante is still a Tool.
Sidwell Sucks.
Don’t even get me started on Wallow and EwDrew.
So, who needs to be Eradicated first?
EwDrew? Or Sidwell?
Does Nathan have the Hots for Lulu?
Technically, is he still married to Maxi?
If he really *is* Nathan, that is.
Is there a Seven Year Rule or something?
That’s for Missing Persons.
How about Dead/Undead?
Does it count then?
I Really Really Really wish Britt would just jump Stone Cold’s Bones.
You know she wants to.
I want Stone Cold and The Britch to be the Next Edward and Lila.
~~~
Well, there’s Anna!
Her hair looks better.
She needed to be offscreen for a few weeks for that Awful Hair Disaster to Grow Out.
Jesus Fruitcake Christ on a Green Elephant! This whole time Anna has been at Wyndemere?
And the Deception Broads are Right Upstairs having a Meeting with Sidwell.
Nice.
Say, that’s a Nice Bathrobe LooseLips Coe was wearing.
Ew, she kissed Sidwell!!
Ew, Sidwell Kissed LooseLips.
Double Blech.
~~
I repeat, how could anyone possibly think that Curtis shot Drew? He would not have shot so poorly.
He would not have a professional shoot so badly.
A professional would have killed the guy, not just wounded him for the Love of All Things Soapy.
So now they’re holding him for Obstruction of Justice?
We know Porthole didn’t do it.
She was Busy Getting Busy with Gannon.
Mikey going to NutKrissy for advice on how to tell Wylie that Wallow married his Uncle??
Or, better yet, SHE should tell him??
Oh, yeah, that’s great, have WhackaDoodle Aunt Krissy give the kid Life-Altering News.
Makes sense to me.
~~~
So NOW Portia wants Britt to be a Doctor?
When it suits HER needs??
I do hope Britt gets her License back, Via Soap Opera Means or Otherwise.
I’d love to see Britt and Terry be Co-Conspirators (oops I mean Co-Chiefs of Staff).
Where IS Terry??
Can someone let Terry and Yuri out of the Cornfield, please??
While they’re at it, PLEASE send Trina and Kai TO the Cornfield!!!
I’d say that would be a WONDERFUL Trade!!!
I must say that Kelly T is a Fabulous Actor.
When she was talking to Lucas about her friendship and influence with Brad and the possibility of getting her License back, I could feel what she was thinking just by her Facial Expressions.
One minute she has me laughing, the next minute I’m just a little bit Verklempt…
The Girl is Good.
Oh, Joy, Trina and Kai are here at the PCPD to Judge Curtis.
Where’s Anti-Stella? I’m expecting her to arrive at the PCPD Clown Squad Headquarters, Nose High in the Air, demanding her Sainted Nephew be released!
~~~
Mikey’s right. Jacinda makes that Red Dress look Stunning.
And she listened to me about the Dark Lipstick!!
The lighter shade she’s wearing in Thursday’s Episode is much more flattering!
Jacinda (as Mikey undresses her) “Oh No!! I CAN’T ruin this Gown!”
::Drops Gown on Floor in Crumpled Heap::
So they give Liz a Story for the first time in about a year, and it’s about “Eyelid Mites”?
Really??
~~~
Willow is Truly Delusional and Chase is an Idiot.
Why would he sneak her into the Quartermaine’s??
To see her Kids that she’s supposed to stay away from?
Talk about Counting Your Chickens Before They’re Hatched!!
I’m so glad they found that “Traffic Cam” footage.
~~~
I’m also glad Britt finally kissed Jason.
She really should have thrown him on the bed and taken advantage of him BEFORE she proclaimed “Not a Chance!”
Thanks for the shout out, Liz! I’m honored. Wishing you & yours, along with Tamilu and her family, the happiest of holidays along with everyone else here (I love reading everyone’s thoughts & comments,) & Dan for providing us all a place to discuss GH! I’m so grateful for the respite that GH provides in our lives and for the actors, writers, crew & show-runners. Speaking for myself there have been some really hard times in my life that GH gave me the break & joy I needed to just get through each day. On to comments about this week.
That eye mite PSA infomercial, especially immediately after the commercial aired in the break they came back from, was disrespectful to both Rebecca Herbst & Kristina Wagner. They are talented actresses, with long-standing characters they’ve given life to & those characters are strong women deserving of more respect. Tacky. Very tacky. As for myself, I think I would not choose to use any product advertised in such a heavy-handed way.
Please, please writers, let Scout live with Alexis and never, ever have to deal with her icky father & seriously in need of help stepmother. She’s suffered too much as it is.
I’m beginning to like Michael & Jacinda and hope they let that relationship develop. Nina needs to step down off her high horse. Good grief!
I think it’s a good thing that Dr. Kevin Collins has come home. There’s enough problems that his office should be a busy place for quite some time.
I wanted Brook Lynn to smack Chase upside his ‘let me rescue needy Willow’ nonsense head! I still think they intend to play fast & loose with that marriage and send Brook Lynn in Dante’s direction. I like Dante, but character still needs to deal with his anger & holier than thou attitude. Chase needs to get some therapy to find out why when he has a happy marriage, he feels the need to rescue other women. Why does he feel he needs continual hero worship from rescuing a needy woman? (Also, said needy woman needs to grow up & fix her own problems. Paging Dr. Collins, is a twofer rate available? Although, frankly I don’t care very much about, nor have any respect for those types of needy women who are always in search of a man to fix everything for them & more often than not, he’s someone else’s husband.) If he can’t, Brook Lynn needs to move on, he will continue to repeat this behavior going forward & she’ll be damaged from blaming herself for his problem. If she moves on with Dante, once he’s gotten his own head straight, so be it.
I’m just really pretty sick of the entire disaster that is the Ashfords at the moment. I love a lot of the actors & most of the characters, although at times a few of them work my last nerve. Trina was never the busybody in the family, Aunt Stella did that chore, but lately? Trina was always so bright, so caring, and now, she’s trying to run her parents’ lives, interfere in things she has no clue about the facts regarding them, & at times she acts like a grade school age kid angry at the parents for splitting & trying to run off anyone else who might be important to them. I know Trina is smarter than that.
This Nathan mess is frustrating and he’s giving all kinds of ‘interested in Lulu’ signals that are going to really mess with her friendship with Maxie when she returns. Not only that, if Nathan isn’t really Nathan, he needs to be exposed, because Spinelli loves Maxie, and she loves him, and they both love their kids and this is going to hurt them all badly, not to mention all this messing with James’ head if he’s not really his dad.
If it isn’t Nathan, then I hope they add that character to the pile that needs to go when this Sidwell & crew nonsense wraps up. It’s gotten way outta hand and I’m looking forward to Laura, Anna, Sonny & Jason kicking some butts & ridding Port Charles of the garbage. I’ve not yet made up my mind where Valentin stands in all of it. Was he at some point in cahoots with Sidwell? Is this leftovers from the other story that was dropped a while back? Can the writers please let Britt deck that detestable Pascal? Can they also let someone smack the smirk right off Ezra’s pompous face? Please send EwDrew & Wallow along with them! ICK! The only way I’m getting through the constant Snidely Whiplash Drew is to go replay Jason kicking his cane out from under him. Much needed laughter & comic relief.
I have a feeling that once the warrant for the rest of the traffic cam footage comes into play, they’ll find out that Michael was also on Drew’s street. Whether that’ll make them decide to go after Michael or still pursue Willow, that is the question.
While I don’t agree with Britt and her behavior towards Jason, I’m going to try and play devil’s advocate here. I think that while she might believe that he does want to help her, she feels that if something were to come up regarding Sonny or Carly, he would put her aside for the moment to go and help them, leaving her to possibly fend for herself. She probably feels that it’s better to fend for herself from the get-go rather than to put her trust in someone, and then have them leave partway through and not be sure when or if they’re going to come back to help her, especially in time. It doesn’t justify how mean she is towards him, but it might be where her head is at.
Great write up – thank you!!
WRT Dirty fighters section. I don’t believe ANYONE on GH has been held accountable for all their bad deeds and with the world as ugly as it is I am becoming a bit disgusted with these writers. To date:
Kristina
Alexis
Sidwell
Sonny
Drew
Willow
Martin
Ava
And I am sure there are others. And how do 2 dead people magically come back to life and no one even attempts to figure out how and why.
The writers need to fix these things or I am close to just not watching. There need to be consequences!!!!
