General Hospital Commentary: Bad company in the New Year

Things are quite messy in Port Charles as friends and family ring in the New Year with bad company. 2025 kicks off with adultery, vengeance, dirty deeds and a possible serial killer. Letโ€™s discuss that and more in the latest General Hospital commentary for the week ending January 03, 2025.

Happy New Year, dear readers and fellow General Hospital fans. I hope 2025 is filled with good health, prosperity, and blessings for each of you. Sadly, it didnโ€™t get off to a good start for the poor souls in New Orleans. My heart goes out to the victims and their families of that senseless terrorist attack. I will never understand the mental gymnastics it takes to plot something that evil on innocent people, especially in the name of religion. That sounds more like the devilโ€™s work.

Naturally, the terrorist attack dominated the news, so we had an unexpected pre-emption of General Hospital on Wednesday, leaving us with just three new episodes for the week. But, boy were those episodes filled with juicy developments.

Willow and Drew have zero shame. Worse, they see themselves as victims even though their nasty little romp on the nursery floor — not to mention their months long emotional affair — imploded Willowโ€™s marriage to Michael. Nope, in their delusional world, Michael is the bad guy. He is the one who put the nanny cam in the nursery — to monitor the new nanny — which captured Drew and Willow having illicit sex. Willow is mad that Michael didnโ€™t immediately tell her about the recording, and she blames him for Tracy inadvertently playing the recording for all to see at the Christmas party.

The truth is that Willow needs for Michael to be the bad guy because it lessens the sting of her own misdeeds.

Willow and Drew are being pitched as a supercouple in the making, but General Hospital viewers aren’t buying it. | PHOTO: ABC

In a recent Soap Opera Digest interview, Katelyn MacMullen (Willow Corinthos) spoke about the end of Willowโ€™s marriage. I realize that the actors are going to put the best spin on things, and that they often parrot what the showโ€™s powers that be say. I have nothing but respect for Katelyn, but I donโ€™t see things the way that she does.

Katelyn said of Willow, โ€œSheโ€™s in the frame of mind of not ever having dealt with this kind of thing; sheโ€™s a little in over her head and overwhelmed.โ€ According to Katelyn, โ€œSheโ€™s like, โ€˜Whoa, whoa, whoa, Iโ€™m not ready for a lawyer. Michael and I will work this out, weโ€™ll talk about it, weโ€™ve always been able to figure things out and I know we can make this fair.โ€™ But then, of course, events transpire to change that.โ€

Thatโ€™s not what I saw unfold. Willow knew her tryst in the nursery with Drew would be the end of her marriage, so she decided to give her kids one last happy family Christmas before coming clean to Michael. But who knows if she would have. She spent months waffling between confessing about the kisses and keeping mum for the sake of her marriage. She might have done the same about her infidelity.

I don’t think Willow ever wanted to save her marriage. She was just biding her time waiting for an excuse to leave Michael where she could play the wronged party. When Tracy accidentally outed the affair during the Quartermaine Christmas party, Willow went straight home. It didn’t take much for Nina to persuade her to pack up the kids and leave. The next day, Nina hired Willow an attorney, and Willow greenlighted Martin filing for divorce.

There was never any conversation with Michael. Never any attempt to save her marriage.

I realize that both Katelyn and Cameron Mathison are at the mercy of the writers, but itโ€™s a bad romance. Drew comes across as calculating, selfish, and overall gross for pursuing a relationship with his nephewโ€™s wife. Willow might be naive about Drewโ€™s true character, but she is not innocent. She was quick to judge and condemn Michael, while taking no accountability for her own transgressions.

Willow acts like her affair with Drew couldn’t be helped, and that they should get credit for trying to fight their feelings. She makes excuses for allowing her lover to spend Christmas Eve with kids, while relegating Michael to a measly Christmas morning breakfast in a hotel with Wiley and Amelia.

I loved Lucas storming in and calling Willow out like that. He spoke for so many of us.

Willow spent months being dishonest by hiding her growing feelings for Drew and twice acting on them. Actions have consequences, so seeing Willow play the victim feels a bit like gaslighting. The writers are not winning viewers like me over by doing this. I can only speak for myself, but I don’t see a whole lot of support for Drew and Willow online.

Nina is just as manipulative as Drew. Nina isnโ€™t looking out for Willow or the childrenโ€™s best interests by pushing Willow to file for divorce and custody of Wiley and Amelia. That benefits Nina because she has always resented having to share her daughter and grandchildren with Michael. Having been robbed of raising her twins, Nina is desperate to have Willow, Wiley, and Amelia all to herself.

What Nina is doing is all about Nina. If it was about Willow and the kids, Nina would have been honest with Willow about sleeping with Drew the moment Willow told her about the kiss. She would have helped Willow see Drew for the sleazy dirtbag he is and given Willow a real chance to save her marriage. Willow wouldnโ€™t have been mad because Nina was sleeping with Drew long before he kissed Willow. Had Nina been honest then, she would have spared herself all the heartache that is to come.

I canโ€™t wait for the day that Willow learns Nina lied to her too.

I realize that Michael isnโ€™t without sin. He had a tequila fueled one-night stand with Sasha that resulted in an unplanned pregnancy. However, he wouldnโ€™t have been sitting in that bar in the first place if he hadnโ€™t been blindsided by Willowโ€™s infidelity.

Like Willow, Michael decided to wait to tell Willow about Sasha until after Christmas. He wanted to give their children one last happy family holiday. As a parent, I understand that. In this instance, both Willow and Michael put their childrenโ€™s happiness first.

Unlike Willow, Michael continues to do that. Well, he did up until he learned that Willow took Wiley to Washington, DC for Drewโ€™s swearing in ceremony. Not only that, but she posed for pictures with Drew, which were plastered all over the news websites. Talk about flaunting your affair.

Michael explained that he didnโ€™t want to take the children away from Willow because she was a good mother. He also didnโ€™t want his kids to endure what Michael, and his siblings went through during Sonny and Carlyโ€™s tumultuous breakups. I commend him for that. I also respected Michael for not being vindictive toward Willow. He offered her far more grace than she did him. Unfortunately, Willow’s latest move was the last straw.

Does Michael owe Willow the truth about what happened with Sasha? No. Not anymore. Willow walked out on the marriage and has filed for divorce. He owes her nothing. Willow burned that bridge when she had served Michael with legal papers without so much as a conversation.

Will Sasha ever be happy for more than 2.3 seconds? It’s General Hospital… so probably not. | PHOTO: ABC

Folks, I adore Sasha. Sheโ€™s flawed, but she owns it. She also makes an effort to do better. That said, I hate that she wants to cut Michael out of their babyโ€™s life. Itโ€™s not right, and itโ€™s not what is best for the baby.

Sashaโ€™s arguments ring hollow to me. Michael has shown in the last couple of weeks that he puts his children first, and that heโ€™s a good man. Heโ€™s not vilifying Willow or talking about her disparagingly. He respects her as a mother and wants whatโ€™s best for his kids. Why would Sasha not want a man like that as a father for her baby.

It was wrong of Sasha to tell Michael that she doesnโ€™t want him to be a part of their childโ€™s life because of his father and his family. Sheโ€™s punishing him for the actions of others. He canโ€™t help that he was born a Quartermaine and raised a Corinthos any more than Sasha could help being Holly and Robertโ€™s daughter. Given Hollyโ€™s history — and the fact that Sidwell was recently seen seated in church behind Sasha — I would say the baby is in far more danger from Sashaโ€™s familyโ€™s enemies than Michaelโ€™s.

I know much of this is being dictated by Chad Duellโ€™s exit from General Hospital in the coming weeks, but the writing makes Sasha look selfish and unfair. A child is not a procession, and Michael has as much right to be a part of the babyโ€™s life as Sasha does.

Children need both parents to step up and do right by them.

Braedyn Bruner is the new Emma Drake on General Hospital. She made her debut on December 23, 2024. | PHOTO: ABC

Whatโ€™s the deal with Emmaโ€™s new attitude? Donโ€™t get me wrong, I love that Emma is back and appears to be sticking around. Itโ€™s great too that sheโ€™s spirited, but itโ€™s the same tired schtick weโ€™ve seen for decades going as far back as Lauraโ€™s introduction.

Emma was always a kind and intelligent child. Often far wiser than the adults around her. Surely that Emma would have known that Anna would eventually figure out that Emma had been kicked out of school and moved to Port Charles without running it by her parents first. Why lie about it? Last I checked, Emma was an adult and free to choose her own path in life. The Emma I knew and watched grow up on General Hospital would have been upfront and honest about something like that.

Emma also wouldnโ€™t have picked someoneโ€™s pocket to right a wrong. She would have called that person out — loudly and proudly. The only thing that is consistent with the old Emma was her dislike for Josslyn.

Itโ€™s nice to see that Joss is going to have a little competition, but can the writers please tone it down a bit and let the real Emma shine through? After all, variety is the spice of life.

Is Cyrus an Angel of Mercy serial killer or are his reasons for injecting people with deadly doses of Digitalis more personal? I suspect the latter. Sam was healthy and would have made a full recovery but for Cyrus. The same is true for Dex.

Iโ€™m more certain than ever that Cyrus tried to kill Lulu by turning off her ventilator, and that he murdered both Sam and Dex to keep his secrets buried.

Just before Dex was stabbed, heโ€™d had a tense exchange with Cyrus about Cyrusโ€™ presence at the hospital during the incident with Luluโ€™s ventilator. When Dex survived the attempt on his life, he was murdered the same way that Sam was. Thanks to flashbacks, we know that Cyrus was responsible for Samโ€™s murder, so itโ€™s safe to assume that Cyrus was also behind the deaths of both Dex and Elizabethโ€™s other patient months earlier.

What secret is Cyrus hiding, and is he intentionally framing Elizabeth?

Elizabeth is up to her neck in trouble. As the investigation ramps up and new victims are uncovered, all eyes turn to Elizabeth as a prime suspect. Elizabeth has been the one common denominator in all of the deaths, so it doesnโ€™t look good. At least not on the surface.

However, the people at General Hospital are doing a poor job of investigating because a quick look at security footage would exonerate Elizabeth and implicate a mystery doctor entering the victims’ rooms in the minutes before each died of a heart attack. Yet, no mention has been made of those tapes except a few weeks ago when Portia claimed they were being reviewed. I have my doubts.

Instead, Terry and Portia seem to be zeroing in on Elizabeth as a person of interest. As her best friends, you’d think they’d know better.

I was so disappointed that both Terry and Portia let their friend walk in on an ambush. With friends like that, who needs enemies? I know that Terry and Portia have a responsibility to General Hospital, and that they were asking questions to get to the bottom of things, but it was not an informational meeting. It stopped being that when the hospital’s lawyer showed up and questioned Elizabeth like a suspect.

I was never so happy to see Ric as I was when he walked in and cut the meeting short. Go Ric!

Lulu managed to reconnect with Charlotte, but things ended in disaster when Jackโ€™s assassin Colette Moreau took aim from a sniperโ€™s nest. Fortunately, sheโ€™s a bad shot and missed her target. The only damage was to a window, but the commotion gave Valentin an opportunity to make a clean escape from the Prague restaurant, He also managed to take Charlotte with him, which left Lulu stomping her feet in frustration.

After ditching the AirPod that Lulu had planted in Charlotteโ€™s bag, Valentin and Charlotte hopped into a car and took off. Once the coast was clear, Valentin pulled to the side of the road and had a heart-to-heart talk with Charlotte about her future. He gave her a choice: stay with him or go to her mother.

It was clear that some of what Lulu had said had gotten through to Valentin, but instead of being the adult and doing the right thing, he let Charlotte make the decision. Naturally, Charlotte chose Valentin because itโ€™s been just the two of them from the start.

Itโ€™s just been Valentin and Charlotte for all these years because he selfishly cut Lulu out of Charlotteโ€™s life since conception. Not only did he hire a surrogate to carry Charlotte, but he never told Lulu that an embryo had been created from her stolen eggs. Worse, he lied to Charlotte by allowing her to believe that Claudette was her birth mother.

If Valentin truly wanted what was best for Charlotte, she would be returning home with Lulu and Dante. But heโ€™s a selfish man who uses guilt to manipulate his daughter into staying by his side. Charlotte will never be free to spread her wings and be her true self as long as she lives in hiding with her father.

In an interesting twist, Sonny suffered two incidents of chest pains. The last one dropped him to the floor. Luckily, Dr. Isaiah Gannon was on hand to assess the situation and get Sonny some fluids. But he warned Sonny that it was not an isolated incident, so Sonny needed to get checked out at General Hospital. Sonny was resistant at first, but Isaiah made it clear that Sonny could end up suffering a fatal heart attack or stroke.

And that is what it took for Sonny to finally consider retirement. Not just consider it but to start making plans for it. Sonny had hoped to pass the reins to Jason, but Jason wasnโ€™t interested. Jason explained that he would step up and temporarily run things, but he had no desire to take Sonnyโ€™s place. Good for Jason. Then again, he was always more comfortable following orders than giving them.

Iโ€™ve waited years to see this storyline. Will Sonny and Jason be able to walk away, and who will take their place? We will have to stay tuned!

Lulu wakes up from a coma and a few days later, sheโ€™s galivanting off to Prague with a valid passport. How? Oh, and she had the time to brush up on the latest technology like AirPods, which hit the market a few months after Lulu fell into a coma.

Who are these mysterious Cassadines who voted for Ace to become the new heir to the Cassadine empire? Also, why would they pick Ace when heโ€™s not even a legitimate or legal heir? Nikolas and Esme were not married at the time of Aceโ€™s birth, and both Laura and Kevin adopted Ace.

Anna needs to resign as police commissioner. Tasing Jack was completely unnecessary and downright illegal. I hate this version of Anna. It does such a disservice to her history as a crime fighter.

Liz, I bow down to you. Everything you said about Sasha, Michael, drew, and willow was spot on. The one thing I will say is that I wish that Michael had fought harder to convince Sasha to let him be a father to their baby. But after what Sasha said about why she didnโ€™t want that, I think he felt like it would be selfish to fight her on it. I donโ€™t agree. However, she definitely manipulated and guilted him into doing what she wanted. If I could change one thing about Michael, it would be how easily manipulated he is sometimes. People take advantage of his kindness and his people pleaser personality.

    • Kam

It was actually the night of Sam’s death, not the night that Lulu’s ventilator was tampered with, where Dex saw Cyrus at the hospital. Dex commented that it was Halloween that he saw Cyrus there, which was the night that Sam died.

This whole Cassadine heir storyline makes no sense. Alexis mentioned something about Ace becoming the heir to the Cassadine estate after Nicholas was presumed dead, and then later Spencer was proclaimed to be dead. However, Ava got her divorce settlement while Nicholas was still alive and well in Port Charles. Only whatever was left Cassadine estate that she was not given would have belonged to Nicholas. After he was presumed dead it would have gone to Spencer, but now it belongs to Ace since Spencer is now deemed dead. They can’t just include what was given to Ava in her divorce settlement as part of Ace’s inheritance. Once the money was given to Ava in her settlement, it became HER money. Also, she had already sold the Cassadine mansion but we never found out who bought it. If it was bought by whoever was running the Cassidine estate before giving it to Ace, then sure Ace owns that that mansion, but not the money that was legally given to Ava before Nicholas died.

      • CeeGee

Also, as Nicholas is demonstrably alive wouldn’t he still be in charge of the Cassadine fortune? And Ace be his heir? Definitely does not make any sense!

        • JDF

Yeah, where did all these new Cassadines come from anyway? I don’t remember anyone telling Mikkos, Stavros, Stefan or Nikolas how to run the estate. They are supposedly a “royal” family ,
connected to the Romanovs, and the estate and title of Prince is passed from oldest son to oldest son. That’s the way royalty works, it’s not defined by any court.

          • Terry

They tend to make up the Cassadine fortune like ELQ stock. You’re right that in the 90’s it was passed down from oldest son to oldest son until a few years ago when it became the oldest child. However, in the 80’s Stavros was a cousin of Mikkos, not his son. That’s what Laura told Luke when she returned in 83.

      • JDF

Let’s not forget that just last year, Ava sold Charlie’s to Sonny so she has that money. I guess they also forgot that last year Sonny gave Charlie’s to Phyllis, but now he’s giving it to Kristina.

      • Liz Masters

Thank you for the clarification! Honestly, the timeline has been confusing since Lucky’s return. We have one day play out for an entire week and then suddenly it’s two weeks later.

      • Terry

When Nicholas was presumed dead, the estate fell to Spencer. That changed when Nicholas tried to let Laura know he was alive by withdrawing funds from the estate. If the estate officially went to Spencer, how was he able to do just that. Nicholas is alive so why does it go to Ace. Have then even done a DNA test? None of this makes any sense. Unless the heir cannot be in prison. When would a Cassadine not be in prison.

I do recall a time when the estate was low on funds. There was a group higher up that almost required Nicholas to marry a woman from another family estate.

        • Liz Masters

And now that group turns out to be a front for Sidwell. Why would Sidwell want to buy Wyndemere? How can he even move in when he’s wanted by Interpol and the WSB?

          • Kam

It sounded like Sidwell gave the name “Charles” to Lucy, so he’s clearly using a fake name. Also, it wouldn’t be the first time that a government organization on a soap dropped the ball for keeping tabs on a highly wanted criminal.

          • JDF

Ava got Wyndemere in her divorce settlement . It seems like it was sold well before Sidwell arrived on the GH scene and I’m sure that the writers had no idea who the new owner was going to be at the time it was sold. Sidwell would also be wanted for kidnapping by the FBI. Would the writers have the nerve to actually have this guy parading through Port Charles? Sidwell did not impress as a master villain.

        • Liz Masters

Didn’t Martin tell Alexis that all the Cassadine money, including Wyndemere, awarded to Ava in the divorce settlement reverted back to the Cassadine estate to be held in trust for Ace?

Alexis replied something along the lines of, ‘You should have led with that Martin,” as she signed the official document naming her the Executor.

          • Kam

I can’t remember if Martin said Wyndemere or Cassadine Island. But it seems Sidwell now owns Wyndemere, and I guess they’re trying to make it seem like he was the one whom mysteriously bought it all those months ago, even though It’s likely his character wasn’t even created yet at the time

  2. Ryan

Liz, did you hear about the accidental spoiler that came out today?

    • Liz Masters

Thank you! I have a feeling I will be having much more to say about Drew and Willow in the coming weeks.
No, I didn’t hear about an accidental spoiler. I was focused on writing my column. What’s up? Please share! ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Ryan

It revolves around Michaelโ€™s exit. Are you sure you want to know?

  3. JDF

Two patients die in GH, one after the other, of a digitalis overdose and it was not a precribed medication. No one with half a brain would think a mistake was made. They would think we have a murderer on the loose. The Cassidine Estate has become as confusing as ELQ shares. Is there a lawyer in the house? I don’t know how anyone can take money out of someone elses bank account except for the IRS and even they will notify you first! Alexis sais the court in Greece made the decision and “it’s the law”. In Greece, maybe, but the last time I checked, NY state is not in Greece. Is Port Charles not on the Greek side of the river? Is Wyndemere in “international waters”? I think Anna is losing her mind. What would Brennan want with Emma?

    • Kathie

For sure the Cassadine inheritance rules are fluid. When Stefan and Nikolas first came on it was said the hard and fast rule was oldest son to oldest son. No exceptions, no place for a succession if there was no oldest son. Thatโ€™s why when it was thought Nikolas was Stefanโ€™s son, the inheritance was opened up to all comers. That has obviously been changed now that Ace is the heir as well as in the past years with the back and forth over Mikos naming Valentine the heir. The only consistency is that legitimacy is not required. If it were, neither Spencer nor Valentine could be heirs.

The idea of Avaโ€™s money being taken out of her accounts is, of course, hard to belive. As is the idea sheโ€™s apparently spent all of the money she had before her marriage to Nikolas in the, what is it?, two years since the divorce. Iโ€™ll admit that I am curious to see where this is going though. Is it just a setup for whatever storyline is in the works for Ava? Is a new Cassadine going to make an appearance and turn out to be who is pulling all these strings? Or is it one of the Cassadines we already knowโ€”Alexis, Nikolas or Valentineโ€”making some moves?

    • Liz Masters

Both deaths should be investigated by the police because regardless of who administered the fatal dose it’s foul play.

I’m stunned that Anna has not seen the security footage of Dex’s stabbing. How is that even possible when he was on duty at the time of the attack? Oh, yeah, she’s too busy tasing Jack and kidnapping Martin to do her darn job.

      • Kelly B

I think they said there was no security footage/ground cameras in the area where Dex was stabbed. What Brennan has is WSB drone video, which he lied to Joss about still existing. (But of course I agree with your comments about Annaโ€™s other extra-legal actions. Ridiculous, unnecessary, and make her look unhinged. And at this point, she doesnโ€™t really seem to care at all about Dexโ€™s demise.)

        • Liz Masters

It took Josslyn of all people to think of it, which is incredibly disappointing. I can understand Jack taking little interest in the stabbing of a cop, but not Anna. The way she sobbed to Jason about Dex, you’d think Dex was her son. She shouldn’t have left any stone — or satellite — unturned.

  4. JDF

I remember one other time when Sonny got out of “the business”. He wound up getting back in because the new mobsters were harrassing people that used to work for Sonny, like demanding protection money for businesses they had opened. So Sonny and Jason came back.

    • Kathie

Jason also left the business back when he was playing house with Robin and Michael. He got back in because someone tried to blow up Robin’s car or shot at her or something.

On the surface, it seems hard to free the show from the mob. For one thing, that’s the mob reputation that you can only leave in a coffin. And the whole “just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in” Godfather thing. On GH specifically, we’ve been told for the past couple of decades that mobsters Sonny and Jason are necessary to prevent Port Charles from being overrun by drug lords, arms dealers and even worse mobsters. But it is a TV show–and really it’s supposed to be about a hospital. If the show wants to write out the mob, they can write out the mob. Fact of the matter is Maurice Bernard isn’t getting any younger. Sooner or later, he’s going to want to retire. So whether it’s now or then, GH will have to make a decision whether or not they want to continue with the mob stuff or write it out and move on.

  5. Ryan

Liz, what did you think of Nina saying yesterday that willow is better off without Michael? To give her a little credit, she did acknowledge that drew is worse, but her dislike for Michael is infuriating and purely for selfish reasons. Like you said, she dislikes Michael because she irrationally blames him for the distance between her and willow. I wish this witch would start taking responsibility for her own actions.

    • CeeGee

Ryan, so true…even worse, Willow went from hating Nina’s manipulations and blaming everyone else for everything to emulating her!

    • Liz Masters

I think Nina is about to be in for a rude awakening. I can’t wait.

  6. Humor Me

Dear Liz – Happy New Year!
I am amazed at how we see the show alike – one exception.
Emma – now a forthright teenager who is not afraid to right a wrong or take a stand when she feels she was wronged. I love this Emma. I can see her doing what she did – because of the fact she is Robin’s daughter and Anna’s granddaughter. Remember – the one who insisted on going on a caper with Anna because she was needed to pull it off (a teenager visiting a new boarding school). Emma is spy in training and has learned her lessons well. The shoplifter? Taken care of and the vendor’s wages restored. What is wrong with that? Being kicked out of the school due to a party gone wrong? Not surprised as I have watched friends’ college children drop out and do the same – stay put, work to earn their living until it is time to face the music. The days of parental notifications are gone due to identify fraud – they deal with the student, not who is paying the bills. Emma is of legal age. This is a different Emma and I am all for it. She was the perfect child back in the day – and that does not necessarily stay going forward. She may have been the perfect child having a small party in her dorm room and it got out of hand by malecontents. That is not entirely Emma’s fault but she got blamed. The lesson – choose your friends wisely. Plan better. I digress…..

I am not sure I am ready for a love sick Gio, but whatever. Anything is better than what we have at present.

Mega kudos to Chad Duell for his Michael for all these years. I am sorry to see him leave, however the solace is it is on his terms. I am not happy about the purposed send off.
At least we still have a show……

    • Liz Masters

Happy New Year to you too!

I think Michael nailed it during Monday’s episode when he said that Willow molds herself to whoever people want her to be. It’s how she is easily manipulated, and it gives her a measure of protection from her own poor choices. She’s always the victim because she allows herself to be one.

  7. CeeGee

I wrote in the Nice list comments about how this incarnation of Willow one thousand percent confirms she is related to both Nelle and Nina…and she keeps reinforcing that this past week with her every utterance and action. As for Drew, I have resorted to hoping he was either replaced with an evil clone or brainwashed during one of his last stretches of being away, and we’ll somehow get a Drew who bears ANY resemblance to the character that Billy Miller originated. Even if that were to mean recasting the role again. Cameron Matheson is a very good actor but for me has never really had the true Drew vibe.

Either way, Liz you are so very right that the Drew/Willow pairing isn’t one that I see ever feeling anything other than ick about. Aside from the many obvious gross aspects of putting these two characters in a romance together, these two actors have no chemistry with each other. It truly *does* feel like someone’s uncle by marriage is creeping on a delusional and not entirely well Willow (yuck!)

    • Kathie

To be fair, Willow is not manipulating anyone to further some calculated agenda. She is also not vindictive nor homicidal. But I agree with you that weโ€™re seeing some signs of kinship with Nina and Nelle. Primarily, the inability to take responsibility for her actions and that need to be the injured party (plus the dishonesty). Like the columnist I am looking forward to her finding out Drew was once banging her mother. As well as that Michael knocked up Sashaโ€”I donโ€™t think Willow is going to take too well to losing the favorite baby mamma status now that the Quartermaines and Corinthoses arenโ€™t too happy with her. Problem is both of those things will just give her another chance to take that aggrieved victim attitude. Which is really annoying.

  8. Ruthie

Years ago, when Cameron Mathison was on All My Children, I had a dream in which he appeared as Satan. I thought that was so odd that he could be so evil, but now I see it on the screen every day!

    • CeeGee

Ruthie, we’re now relying on your dreams to come up with better storylines for characters they are ruining! ๐Ÿ˜€

  9. Ryan

Liz, whatโ€™s happening to Michael was the accidental spoiler I was referring to.

  10. Ryan

Iโ€™m so tired of the victim blaming Iโ€™m seeing against Michael. I just was a part of a live gh chat where the host basically said that Michael asked for what happened with drew and willow because heโ€™s weak and lets people walk all over him. Heโ€™s also pathetic for stealing Drewโ€™s company rather than punching drew in the face. Apparently, being a nice guy who falls in love with women who he then wants to take care of is a crime.

    • Liz Masters

No one asks to be betrayed. He trusted his faithless wife. That’s not weakness. She’s the weak one. She gave into temptation rather than address the troubles in her marriage, so she and Drew are to blame for the affair not Michael.

It’s a soap, so their marriage was unlikely to ever last, especially since this has become a pattern for Willow.

I really appreciated Michael’s insight and honesty when he talked to Sonny. He wasn’t trying to vilify Willow, but he was spot on when he said that she molds herself to be the person people want her to be. That’s the legacy of Harmony and Shiloh. It doesn’t mean that she gets a free pass on her poor choices, but it does explain why she is so easily manipulated by people like Nina and Drew.

I can’t stand Willow. I hate that she’s going to get to have her cake and eat it too.
