Secrets, lies, blackmail, and malfeasance. It was just another week in Port Charles, as dirty deeds were covered up and bad actors seemed to rule the day. Is it time for Michael to return home and rescue his children from their mother’s poor choices? Will Ava prevail in her quest to solve her financial problems? Let’s discuss in this week’s General Hospital commentary for the week ending April 11, 2025.
Folks, I work part-time in retail at a department store. Several of my coworkers are tickled pink that I write about General Hospital because they are avid viewers. Nowadays, from 2pm to 3pm, General Hospital is on in the breakroom, and I will get updates from my coworkers about what is going on if I’m on the floor working. This week, everyone was talking about two things: Drew and Kristina. Sonny might be a mobster, but it’s Drew and Kristina who seem to have the criminal intentions these days.
Dawn of Drew
How do we know our intrepid General Hospital writers are intentionally writing Drew to be a Shiloh 2.0? They have characters make the same observations about him — and Willow — that we the viewers have made for months. During a conversation with Jason about Willow, Sasha cautioned Jason not to confront Willow about moving in with Drew. Sasha warned Jason that anything he might say to Willow would fall on deaf ears because Willow is now in the cult of “Dawn of Drew.” Sasha is, of course, right. Willow is beyond reasoning with as evidenced by her exchange with Carly on that very topic.
For Willow, up is now down, and Drew is a poor unfortunate soul who is unfairly treated by — well, everyone.
What’s not best for the children
I can’t tell you how much I hate that Willow has moved her kids into Drew’s home. Her divorce isn’t even final. What bothers me more than that is Wiley’s unrealistic reaction to it all. He was positively giddy over getting bunkbeds. This is the same child who — only a few months ago — was happily waiting for Santa to deliver presents one minute then ripped out of his bed in middle of the night the next minute to be taken to his grandmother’s place. His world was destroyed in the blink of an eye because his mom had an adulterous affair with his great uncle.
The last time Wiley saw his father, it was Christmas morning at a restaurant. They spent an hour over breakfast and opened presents. Weeks later, Wiley learned that his father had to go away without much of an explanation beyond that. Since then, Wiley’s creepy great uncle has been kissing and pawing Wiley’s mother every chance he gets. How could that not affect a kid?
The only logical explanation for Wiley’s easy acceptance of everything is that Willow has indoctrinated her son into the cult of Dawn of Drew. Is that what the writers are suggesting here? If so, that’s another strike against Willow’s fitness as a mother. She’s no better than Harmony was. Drew oozes malevolence and criminal intent. The idea of Mr. Hand-to-the-chest Cain playing replacement-daddy to those precious children sickens me. Shame on Willow if she thinks that’s okay. It’s not.
Grandma Bear to the rescue
Folks, for years I hated Carly with every fiber of my being, but in the past couple of years that has turned around. I know. Color me shocked too. The best thing to happen to Carly was getting out of Sonny and Jason’s orbit. Nina has grown on me too, but that’s for another column.
During Friday’s episode, I cheered Carly on like she was scoring the winning point of a final championship match. Carly’s verbal smackdown was a thing of beauty because it was so well-deserved. Willow looked pathetic and out of her league trying to match Carly’s energy. It was downright laughable. My favorite part was when Carly vowed to get those kids away from Willow and to make certain that Willow never saw them again. The cherry on top was Jason dragging a snarling Carly out. Soapy deliciousness at its finest.
I am rooting for Carly to find a way to keep those promises. If Willow wants to play “house” with Drew, then she should do it without the kids. Willow’s argument that there was trouble in her marriage before she and Drew started swapping spit is self-serving poppycock. The only problem that I saw was Willow’s inability to keep her hands and lips off of Michael’s uncle. Carly might have hit Willow below the belt with that reminder that Willow isn’t Wiley’s biological mother, but Willow is delusional to suggest that she’s putting her kids first. She hasn’t since July 04, 2024.
The prodigal son should return sooner not later
I loved Chad Duell as Michael Corinthos (sometimes Quartermaine). He did a magnificent job of transitioning Michael from rebellious teen to loving family man, but it would be unfair to keep the character in limbo until Chad can return to General Hospital. Michael is a core legacy character who has so much more story to tell. His absence from the canvas has left a gaping hole and so many loose ends.
I don’t care how many times Drew and Willow justify their selfish behavior by arguing that others have done wrong too. Whataboutism is a lame attempt at deflection. Two wrongs don’t make a right. I want them to pay for what they’ve done. Michael is no saint, but Willow is the one who cheated. As far as I’m concerned, Michael was a free man the second that Willow started talking about having feelings for Drew. She carried on an emotional affair for months. Michael did not owe her his fidelity, especially in a moment of weakness when he was reeling from her betrayal.
The affair blindsided Michael. He knew there was more than just a couple of kisses between Willow and Drew. Michael and Sasha had a one-night stand, while Willow and Drew carried on a torrid affair that continues to this very day. The two don’t compare.
General Hospital’s resident menace, Kristina
I can’t wait for Kristina to pay the piper for her latest deadly impulse. Her enablers need to go down with her. I don’t even feel sorry for Alexis and Lucky because both made their choices knowing good and well that Kristina had acted with criminal intent when she cut the brake lines of Ric’s car.
Kristina knew it was wrong too. Not only did she look around to make sure no one saw her before she grabbed those wire cutters, but she later had a change of heart. Kristina acted in a moment of anger. It was the same rage that fueled her confrontation with Ava in the hotel room all those months ago.
Kristina has been a reckless angry mess for quite some time, so this destructive behavior predates the pregnancy by years if not decades.
Alexis does damage control — again
I’ve come to the conclusion that Alexis has a gift for making a bad situation infinitely worse. She’s the poster child for what not to do if things go wrong. With the stroke of a pen on some commitment papers, she has betrayed two daughters and possibly jeopardized her career. Again. Neither daughter is going to be happy with her.
Why Alexis didn’t go to Sonny is a mystery to me. Sonny would have paid Ava the money and made sure to get his hands on all traces of evidence. Instead, Alexis turned to Diane. I’m not sure how appropriate it was for two attorneys to conspire to help someone avoid legal responsibility for some serious crimes by having her committed to a sanitarium behind her back. It feels unethical, and I honestly hope that both Alexis and Diane face some consequences for what they are about to do.
Alexis might be able to convince Kristina that she did it for Kristina’s own good, but Kristina is going to push back. That’s Kristina’s nature. She’s volatile and impulsive. It’s why I do agree that she needs intensive therapy. But she also needs jail time. Sending her off to a country club sanitarium and thinking that makes up for the attempted murder of three people is not justice. It’s bull*censored*!
This is exactly why Kristina is such an entitled trainwreck and rotten human being.
Ava’s folly is our gain
Ava acted with criminal intent too when she marched to Alexis’ office to engage in a little blackmail. It was a baffling move to me. Why not go straight to Sonny — the man with millions at his disposal? She would have walked out with a big fat bank account and possibly even a more favorable custody agreement.
That said, I loved the scene as Ava purred her threats while Alexis blinked like a scared little mouse. The expression on Alexis’ face when she saw that recording of Kristina with the wire cutters marching to the front end of Ric’s car was priceless. I had no pity for her. She and Sonny created that little monster.
Sidwell family drama
Speaking of criminal intent, I’m confused about Marco and Jenz’s relationship. Marco seems like an upstanding guy — at least I hope he is for Lucas’ sake — but he also appeared to be close to his father. How does that work? Does Marco know about Jenz’s dealings in Africa? I hope Marco and Lucas can get into that discussion soon. If anyone might understand Marco’s position, it’s Lucas, son of Julian Jerome. Lucas’ true dad will always be Dr. Tony Jones, but Lucas did grow to care about Julian.
I have to admit, one of my favorite scenes of the week was the conversation between Marco and Natalia at the Metro Court restaurant. I can’t stand Natalia. She is a loathsome creature with an ugly soul, and she’s been getting a free pass on all the hurt she caused when she first darkened our television screens. Hurt that ultimately chased her daughter away. I was pleasantly surprised and quite pleased when Marco (formerly referred to as “Eloi”) called Natalia out on her homophobic views and past.
l can easily forgive characters for their past ugliness, but I need to see the work and real growth. It’s that journey that wins me over. Natalia hasn’t done that. As I said in my previous column, all I’ve heard from her are excuses and justifications. She claims that she has changed, but we haven’t really seen that put to the test. Believe it or not, I’m rooting for Natalia to win me over. I love Eva LaRue and I feel bad that she’s been saddled with such an awful character to play.
Luckily, nobody does a redemption storyline better than General Hospital.
A new direction for Jordan
Jordan has a new man and a new mission. Let’s start with the new man, Dr. Isaiah Gannon. He’s good looking, has an impressive career, and most importantly, he’s into Jordan. I’m so happy for her. I hated seeing her secretly pining for Curtis, even though it’s been years since their divorce. Jordan is a gorgeous woman who has a lot to offer. She deserves to be understood, accepted, and loved. Curtis did the latter, but never the first two, which is why I always felt that he was not right for Jordan.
I have high hopes for Dr. Gannon, and I’m eager to learn more about his family in Llanview. Hint-hint, writers.
Now, let’s address Jordan’s mission to take down Jenz Sidwell. If it were anyone else, I would say it was a crazy plan. But Jordan is different. She’s a force to be reckoned with, and Sidwell appears to underestimate her. If he’d done his homework properly, he would know that. However, his arrogance will make it easy for her to find dirt on him.
Is it possible that Jenz is truly reformed? Of course not. On General Hospital, men like Jenz are never reformed. They always have criminal intent and inevitably act on it.
It’s for that reason that I am eager to see Jordan be the key to his downfall. What’s a little malfeasance between friends (Jordan and Laura) if it helps take down a bad guy? Maybe when this is all over, Laura will decide to retire from office and endorse Jordan to run for mayor.
I would love to see Jordan usher Port Charles into a new era.
General Hospital Quick Takes
Our newly minted spy Josslyn landed her first assignment — in Port Charles. Agent 99 has been tasked with spying on Professor Dalton at Port Charles University. What could the WSB possibly want with a college professor? Also, does Super Spy Vaughn own any other type of clothing besides active wear?
Kai’s parents need to show up at least once for their son. It’s downright cruel that they haven’t so much as popped in for a weekend. Nothing short of me dying would have kept me from my kid’s bedside if either of them had been seriously injured like Kai was.
I saw more chemistry between Lulu and Cody than I have Lulu/Dante and Cody/Molly combined. This is the soapy relationship the writers should explore. Dante might have moved on from Lulu, but he won’t like seeing her hooking up with his childhood bestie.
Has Charlotte snatched Ace and run away to the Quartermaine mansion? She moved into Grandma Laura’s place and vanished right along with her little cousin. Now that I think about it, Kevin appears to be missing too.
And just like that, I’m rooting for Portia and Brad to get to the bottom of what is going on with Drew. Will Brad find evidence that the man calling himself Drew Cain is in fact Shiloh Archer? I want frequent updates between these two
What General Hospital viewers are saying
Re: Lucky covering for Kristina
Re: Ava’s decision to blackmail Alexis
Be sure to check out Dan’s latest Beyond The Gates commentary. We had quite a lively discussion about how much fun it’s been to watch a soap grow from the ground up, and the interesting storylines and clever dialogue that help to paint a vivid picture of the past, while world-building in the present.
Also, if you follow Dan on social media, the kits and their fox parents have left the Gardens at Kroll Manor. The bunny families are elated.
As always, happy viewing!
Liz

Go, Liz! Everything you said about the willow/drew situation was spot on.
Thank you! Someone pointed out to me that Shiloh had a history of sleeping with all the women in his orbit, and there’s Drew standing in the living room with two ex-lovers and his current squeeze. Coincidence? NOT!!
Confused why does it say 2 comments there is only 1
I think the web site counts the pingback as a comment. So 1 pingback plus 1 comment = 2 comments.
EC is correct. The pingback counts as a comment. ๐
What is a pingback.
Basically, it’s a pinned link to another column on the site.
Is it possible that the writers see Kristin as a sympatheitc character? I just want to see her in jail or in the nut house or both. If I have to hear “Adela” one more time………
No, I don’t think so. I think they see her exactly how we do. It’s why Molly (and for a time T.J.) would make all the same observations about her that we have.
What I suspect will happen is that Kristina will finally get some real professional help (I think she lied to Alexis about going to therapy) and she will be diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I think that is where the writers are headed with all of this.
I disagree with you when you said, “Iโm not sure how appropriate it was for two attorneys to conspire to help someone avoid legal responsibility for some serious crimes.” Isn’t that what Diane has been doing for Sonny and Jason for YEARS? Diane knows Sonny MURDERED John “Jagger” Cates and still represented him when questioned by police. That’s just one of Sonny’s crimes and EVERY single time he is accused of doing something she knows he IS guilty of, she helps him “avoid legal responsibility for some serious crimes.” That’s what a lawyer does and even though Alexsis is Kristina’s mother she is also a lawyer. It’s their job to keep Kristina out of prison, even knowing she’s guilty. By having her committed, they are getting Kristina help. Therapy, not prison is what she really needs.
You are right, but Sonny and Jason were actually her clients. Diane was not hired by Kristina to represent her in this case. Kristina is an adult, so Alexis doesn’t have the authority to hire an attorney for Kristina and make decisions for her without consulting her. I don’t know if that is illegal, but it definitely feels unethical.
For what it’s worth, I actually thought that Diane was sincere in urging Alexis to see Kristina has serious mental health problems that need in-patient help (I happen to agree, I just wish they had decided to commit her before she did the attempted murder.) I think ‘selling’ it to Alexis as also helpful to her client’s eventual defence was a way to get Alexis to open her eyes to it.
Okay, I LOVE Diane, she is one of my very favorite characters ever so maybe I’m predisposed to have a favorable view…but that’s how it struck me!
Greetings and Salutations, Y’All!
This Week, on, “The Obvious”,
Lucky Rips NutKrissy A New One, and Informs her that Yes, This IS Your Fault and you MUST Take Responsibility.
Of course, Sonny and Alexis will Coddle NutKrazy Krissy and Protect Her From the Law.
I’d love to see NotKrissy in a cell.
Too bad Heather’s free.
~~~
LooseLips to Trina and Kai:
“What do I have to do to get you two to Perform??
Kai: “Stop Wildly Flapping your Giant Hands around, Please!! You nearly sent Trina Flying with an Enthusiastic Left Hook!”
~~~
Now that Ava and Ric have figured out that NotKrissy cut Ric’s Brakes, this should be a Ton O Fun.
However, what Salvage Yard would destroy a car that’s in a Police Investigation?
And why WOULDN’T there be an Investigation??
Oh, right, because this is Port Charles, where State and Federal Laws Don’t Count.
Speaking of Law, I was Delighted to see Diane Miller almost First Thing on Tuesday’s Episode!
Okay it was the Third Scene, but it was before the Opening Credits so yeah.
~~~~
I really hope Lucky tells Liz it was NutKrazy who cut her brakes.
Ric and Ava already have it figured out.
Oh, of course Ava wants to use this “Accident” to her Advantage.
So, as of Tuesday, NuLu the Shrew STILL hasn’t secured a spot in the Opening Credits!!
In case Y’All were wondering.
And now she’s bugging Dante In Person about his Teenage Fling with BLQ.
I’m hoping she lets it slip about Dante’s Unknown Spawn.
I’m also hoping that Lois Spills The Tea to Olivia.
Of course, at that point they may as well hire a Skywriter.
~~~
How come Marco’s name isn’t Sidwell?
Why do all of Natalia’s kids have different names?
Mami Dearest Indeed!
Oh and Sonny can’t be Friends with her now that he knows she’s Sidwell’s Ex.
Hypocrite.
~~~
Sasha said to Jason what we’ve been thinking all along.
EwDrew is Willow’s Current Cult, “Dawn of Drew”.
~~~
I personally would rather see Liz with Ric than with Lucky.
Lucky is a Tool.
Hey, listen, I had a Great Love when I was 18 or so, and after many many years and Alternate Relationships, we are STILL Friends, Married to Other People for Many Years, live in Different States, and both realize that though we’ll always love each other, it never would have worked.
But I digress.
I mean, Ric’s a Tool, too, but he makes Good Money.
I know, that’s awful, but it’s true!!
Why do you think Ava’s all over him like a Hummingbird to Nectar?
I rather enjoyed Ava showing Alexis the video of NutKrissy rummaging through the Conveniently Left Tools in the Garage.
Now here’s the thing.
Did Ava ask the Junk Yard Dude for something in WRITING that the Brake Lined were cut.
After all, we know she was lying when she said she had the car towed “elsewhere”.
The Dude told Lucky the car was crushed.
Which I still find hard to believe they’d do that so quickly.
We’ll see. Maybe.
Um…in case anyone was wondering, NuLulu STILL hasn’t garnered a Spot in the Opening Credits.
And don’t even get me started on the Lack of Stethoscopes at GH.
~~~
I have No Idea what Trina and Kai were talking about at the Restaurant with the Inexplicable Map of the Long Island on the Wall, because I was too distracted by her Hideous Shirt!!
My Mother had a Dress in that pattern in 1972. I hated it then and I hate it now.
Please make that shirt go away.
~~~~
I don’t think what Emma did was so bad.
I mean, it’s not like she burned down the school or anything, right?
~~~
NutKrissy, however.
Diane: “You Need to Have Kristina Committed”.
Ya Think???
I Love Love Love Diane Miller.
Always have, always will.
Listen to Diane, Alexis!! Stop bailing NutKrissy out!
~~~
I’m glad Nina summoned Jason.
I really wish SOMEONE would tell Willow about Ninny and EwDrew’s Rug Rash Reggae Sessions!!
Of course, Brillo won’t believe it, because she’s That Stupid.
~~~
Porthole digging up Dirt on Drew?
Should be fun.
And, Brad, don’t forget when he was “Jake Doe”!!
I’m convinced that they are reading what we are saying because so many things I’ve seen posted about Drew and Willow have ended up in the dialogue.
Yes!
So many times we’ll make observations, predictions, suggestions…
Or one of us will come up with some absurd(or good) idea, type it out, and several weeks later….
Coincidence?
So when is EwDrew going to *finally* be called out on the carpet (I’m NOT referring to him Shagging Ninny) and thrown in Jail?
Won’t happen.
Can he drown or something?
That would be Ironic.
I forget, how DID Shiloh meet his Timely Demise? If he really is dead, that is.
I just noticed a bunch of Typos in my post.
But there’s no “edit” option!
Feh.
Jason chased him down a spiral staircase. Seems like it was dead, but you never know.
I thought Sam shot Shiloh & he fell off the Haunted Star and died. Isnโt that why Sam went to jail for killing him?
We saw Shiloh in the body bag. So youโre right, seems dead.
We’ve seen plenty of characters “dead” only for them to turn into soap-zombies and pop up down the road. Stavros, A.J., Peter August, and Duke Lavery to name a few.
Shiloh was in cahoots with the Cassadines, and they are infamous for cheating death.
Speaking of the “totaled” car, if the insurance company totaled the car they would take possession of it and
salvage every part possible. They even want the owners manual. They would never send it to the crusher.
Our truck was totaled and we went back and forth with the insurance company over the upgrades to it. Things like sliding back window, DVD player, etc.
Itโs funny how workplace gossip mirrors the drama on GHโmy coworkers and I have been obsessing over the same thing. Do you think Kristina will ever turn things around or is she too deep in the mess Drewโs leading her into?
Liz, Ninaโs grown on me too, but I partially blame her for willowโs blindness of who drew really is. If Nina had told willow the truth months ago about her and drew, willow wouldnโt be as entrenched with him as she is now. Now, I think itโs too late.
The best thing to happen to Nina and Carly was getting out of Sonny love orbit. Something about loving Sonny makes his partner delusional. Distance seems to give them clarity.
I agree. She could have spared Willow all of this upheaval — and the fallout that is sure to follow when Willow finally sees Drewloh for who he really is — if she’d just been honest and told Willow about the monkey sex she’d had with him while he was filling Willow’s head with sweet nothings.
Given Willow’s penchant for playing victim, I suspect Nina will pay a high price for that. Higher than she should.
Loved it when Carly compared Willow to Nelle. You can tell that Willow hates that! Nina was biting her tongue as well.
I liked that too. But this is at least the third time someone has made that connection, and I think they need to be more specific. Because Willow just dismisses it. Willow is not homicidal or revenge minded. But that insistence that sheโs the victim, inability to take responsibility for anything sheโs done wrong, claims that other people are judging unfairlyโthatโs all Nelle.
Unfortunately, I suspect that when she eventually sees Drew for who he is, thatโs just going to give her new reasons to avoid taking responsibility for her choices. Then it will be all his fault. And maybe, as Ryan says, Ninaโs
Willow may be the one who finally kills Drew. She’s getting as nutty as Kristina. Who knows how she’ll react when she finds out the truth.
If someone has already pointed this out, I missed it, but โ am I the only one that thinks they named the spy trainer-handler Vaughn as a nod to Alias? (Although Iโm pretty sure Sydney Bristow had more than a couple weeksโ trainingโฆwe havenโt even seen Joss in a disguise yet!)
I loved “Alias” so I would love for this to be true. Great observation!!
