It&#8217;s an easy question, but the answer is&#8230; <em>complicated. <\/em>We&#8217;ll try to look at it from all sides in The Bold and the Beautiful commentary for the week ending November 29, 2024.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Al Green <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rqqAnjY2Rmo\">sang it best<\/a>: sometimes love will make you do wrong\u2014or make you do right. Love drove Carter to seize power from Ridge Forrester. Love compelled Brooke to expose Carter and Hope\u2019s plan. Was Carter right or wrong to wrest control from the Forresters? And what about Brooke? Should she have told Ridge, or should she have stood behind her daughter?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ridge showed a wide range of emotions upon learning that a man he sees as a brother betrayed him. While it may seem cruel what Ridge said about Hope, from his standpoint, Hope has been a divisive force in his family. From her struggles with Thomas over Douglas, to Thomas\u2019 obsession with her, to Hope\u2019s insistence on having Deacon in the family home, and her tense relationship with Steffy\u2014it\u2019s easy to see why Ridge believes Hope is the spoke around which most Forrester problems revolve. Now, Carter, who already caused turmoil in both the company and the family by bedding Quinn, has fallen for Hope and latched onto the idea of a coup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-then-there-s-maude-brooke\">Then there&#8217;s <s>Maude<\/s> Brooke<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Then there\u2019s Brooke. She has suffered the consequences of many of Hope\u2019s life choices. Brooke wouldn\u2019t have knocked Thomas off the ledge if it hadn\u2019t been for Hope\u2019s unhealthy entanglement with him. Brooke wouldn\u2019t have needed to keep the secret of Thomas\u2019 acid bath \u201cdeath\u201d if Hope hadn\u2019t been wrestling him for custody of Douglas. And Brooke also had to choose between Ridge and Hope when Hope insisted that Deacon visit Brooke and Ridge\u2019s home. It\u2019s no wonder that this time, she chose to stand by Ridge, whom Carter betrayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some viewers think Brooke should have stood by her daughter or tried to talk Hope out of it before going to Ridge. However, time was of the essence, and Ridge needed to know before Carter filed the paperwork. Besides, when was the last time Brooke successfully talked Hope out of anything? Hope wouldn\u2019t compromise on Deacon, Douglas, or Thomas. She didn\u2019t heed Brooke\u2019s warnings about Finn. There\u2019s no reason for Brooke to believe she could redirect Hope now\u2014nor any reason to burn \u201cBridge\u201d over Hope\u2019s latest tryst with Carter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-proud-mary-brooke\">Proud <s>Mary<\/s> Brooke<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m proud of Brooke for correcting Hope instead of blindly condoning her actions, the way Taylor and Ridge do with Steffy and Thomas. While Steffy and Ridge might not be right about <em>Hope for the Future<\/em>, it\u2019s ultimately their company. They have the right to decide the direction of their business. Hope and Carter have no right to surreptitiously circumvent them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ridge is willing to let the whole thing go if Carter agrees to let Hope go. Ridge can\u2019t tell Carter who to love, but he does have a valid concern about Carter dating women from the company. Look at what happened as a result of Carter\u2019s relationships with Zoe, Quinn, and Paris. With Zoe, they lost a lead model. With Quinn, they lost their jewelry designer. And Paris, Carter left her at the altar. Now, because of Carter\u2019s whirlwind romance with Hope, the Forresters stand to lose their business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-business-bedfellows\">Business bedfellows<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Carter doesn\u2019t have to stop dating Hope, but if he forges ahead with taking control now that Ridge has opened negotiations, then Carter is no better than Steffy\u2014letting personal feelings dictate business decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What do you think?
