The first in a series of commentaries about The Bold and the Beautiful from a familiar name: Chanel S. Garner.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

The Bold and the Beautiful<\/a><\/em>\u2019s Finn and Ridge are neck-and-neck in the Captain Clueless pageant, and Finn just might win the crown. While he insists Hope tried to \u201ctrip seduce\u201d him in the office, Ridge woke up and smelled the fresh ink on Carter\u2019s duplicitous paperwork. Ridge might still fall for Carter\u2019s lies, but will Finn figure out that Hope fell \u201con\u201d him, not \u201cfor\u201d him?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ridge wants two things: to avoid taxes and to support the daughter he thinks he failed. Should he have converted the company from a corporate entity with shareholders to an LLC with members? I don\u2019t know. Should he have discussed it with the shareholders and created an operations plan in which those shareholders became voting members? Probably. Should he, at the very least, have told Carter who the manager should be before things got this far? I\u2019d say so\u2014if he knew anything about LLCs, that is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I find it hard to believe the shareholders would support such a drastic change in the company\u2019s structure just to avoid taxes in some countries, but you tell me. I\u2019m not a business tycoon. I suspect Ridge wouldn\u2019t want this any more than he\u2019d want to turn Forrester\u2014a couture design house\u2014into a Spencer-style conglomerate, slapping their name on trinkets. Even if he did want the LLC, the family should be as gravely concerned about this as they were when Brooke took majority ownership of the company, when R.E.S.T. was formed, or when Nick and Bill briefly ruled Forrester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let them eat pie (charts)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Okay, so no more percentages. Ridge wants to throw out the pie charts and form an LLC. His disgruntled BFF wants his secret girlfriend to stay employed. Carter thinks the best way to achieve this is to hope Ridge\u2014after years of friendship and loyalty\u2014will trust him enough to sign documents without reading them. Oh, and Carter\u2019s secret girlfriend is Hope, the same Hope who tripped all over Finn. But Finn can\u2019t see past his wife\u2019s jealousy to question what he thinks<\/em> happened when Hope emerged from behind the paravent in lingerie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Ridge poised to sign the document giving Carter control over the company, questions plagued me. Would a judge uphold this nonsense? Doesn\u2019t Carter have a fiduciary duty to ask the Forresters whether they want a member-managed LLC or a sole manager? Doesn\u2019t Carter have a duty to disclose that he selected their structure without their feedback and gave himself all the power?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thankfully, Ridge noticed Carter\u2019s name on the managerial line, so those questions no longer need answers\u2014for now. But if Ridge signs the document anyway, I\u2019ll have more questions. Doesn\u2019t Carter still have an obligation to act in the company\u2019s best interest? Is it really in the company\u2019s best interest to go against the wishes of all the members by changing the company\u2019s structure or rehiring his girlfriend, who oversaw a failing line?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bold and the Beautiful (but maybe not-so-smart) Finn<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

That brings us back to Finn, the beach-boy dunce who believes Hope was trying to seduce him when he showed up unannounced at the office. Sure, he doesn\u2019t know she was in lingerie for someone else, but couldn\u2019t Finn at least recall the many positive things he\u2019s said about Hope, her line, and her message over the past months? Maybe realize something feels off here? Couldn\u2019t he consider the fact that he didn\u2019t say his name, so Hope couldn\u2019t have known it was him? After all, he doesn\u2019t even work there. Could he at least tell the difference between someone coming on to him and someone tripping and falling onto him?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deep down, Finn probably realizes Hope didn\u2019t intentionally hop all over him in that office. It comes down to what he said the other day: \u201cThank God Steffy believed me.\u201d Because if she hadn\u2019t, Finn would be alone at the cliff house crying while his wife ran off on him\u2014again. Heaven forbid a woman express interest in Finn, even though Liam salivated over Steffy for an entire year without her telling Finn about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m torn about this storyline. On one hand, Steffy is acting like a jealous fool with no right to scorch the earth over this after letting Liam kiss her, a married woman, in her lingerie. She deserves her cumupance for that. On the other hand, Carter and Hope are behaving like snakes, and the rest of the Forresters don\u2019t deserve the fallout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
