Does the WSB’s sudden interest in JJE have anything to do with Jerry Jacks? How much longer can Willow keep her secrets hidden when so many know the truth about her? It’s time to dish about all the soapy goodness in the latest General Hospital<\/em> commentary for the week ending August 28, 2026.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Buckle up folks, we’re in for a bumpy ride. There’s a lot to unpack between Alexis’ heated confrontation with Willow, Nina’s crumbling alliance with Brennan, Ava and Drew’s plans for Sonny, and of course the WSB’s sudden interest in Jasper Jacks Enterprises. General Hospital<\/em> has a lot going on, but this week, I’m going to kick things off with some speculation because something big might be afoot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here You Come Again<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Who did Hudson Parker call to report that Josslyn had taken the job… a job that Hudson and the mystery person agreed they did not want<\/em> Josslyn taking. More importantly, why is the WSB interested in Jasper Jacks Enterprises? All roads appear to lead to Jerry Jacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jerry Jacks Theory<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Both Carly and Josslyn stated that Jax had been talking for years about hopping on a boat and sailing the ocean blue. Yet, oddly, when he actually decided to do it, he did it without telling anyone. I’m no sailing expert, but don’t you have to prepare for a trip like that — especially if you are going solo? I’ve always been suspicious of Jax suddenly taking off and leaving his company in Josslyn’s hands without so much as a conversation. It was all so reckless and irresponsible. That’s not how a person becomes a billionaire, but it certainly is a great cover story to hide a crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did Jerry Jacks kidnap his brother and take steps to try to seize control of Jax’s empire and his billions? It certainly sounds like something that Jerry would do. What better way to accomplish that nefarious deed than to take advantage of your brother’s lifelong dream to take a solo trip around the world in a sailboat?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then there’s Hudson. We know — from his encounter with Ethan — that Hudson is a violent man. We also know, based on the things that Ethan has said, that Delilah was hiding from her baby’s daddy. Ethan told Ava something to the effect that Phoebe was better off without her father, and implied the man was very dangerous. That, and Hudson’s mystery call, all point to Hudson being a very bad man. Is Hudson reporting to Jerry?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Man, The Myth, The Villain<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

For those who are not familiar with Jerry, allow me to bring you up to speed. Jerry has moments of goodness, but at his core he’s bad. So bad. He had close ties to Helena Cassadine and Cesar Faison, and he’s been involved in some of their most infamous crimes such as kidnapping and programing Drew Cain (back when Drew was a hero and someone we all rooted for), little Jake, and Jason. Jerry also staged Robin Scorpio’s death (she was kidnapped and held prisoner by Helena and Victor). Then there was the time Jerry (as James Craig) orchastrated the Metro Court hostage crisis, which ultimately led to beloved Alan Quartermaine’s fatal heart attack. Finally, Jerry once poisoned the town’s water supply with a deadly biotoxin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jerry did offer the counteragent in exchange for $88,000,000, but he rigged the briefcase containing the lifesaving serum with a bomb. That’s how evil Jerry can be. His other associates included: The Balkan (Theo Hoffman), Claudia Zacchara, Ewen Keenan, Shiloh Archer, and Franco (back when Franco was an active serial killer). In 2015, Robert and Anna were instrumental in Jerry’s capture, and Jerry was taken into custody by the WSB and shipped off to Steinmauer. I was surprised by how many people on social media thought that Jerry was dead. He’s not. In 2019, Jax revealed that his brother had escaped Steinmauer a few years earlier and was on the lam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jerry is very much in play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter The WSB<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

My soapy senses didn’t just tingle, they zapped me, when Jack informed Josslyn that her new WSB assignment was to play CEO of Jasper Jacks Enterprises. I have no idea why Josslyn was completely mystified by the WSB’s interest in JJE. Really? Your uncle is a notorious supervillain who escaped WSB custody, and you are confuzzled as to why the WSB might have their eye on JJE? Some on social media were quick to point out that Josslyn didn’t really know Jerry since she’d been a baby when she’d last seen him, but I take issue with that. Josslyn is a spy. Her job is to know all the bad guys out there, and her uncle is at the very top of the WSB Most Wanted list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, there’s Jax. Jax has always loved his brother despite all the awful things that Jerry has done. He has even helped Jerry when Jerry had no one else. There’s no way that Jax didn’t talk to Josslyn about Jerry. If for no other reason than as a cautionary tale. Same goes for Lady Jane (Josslyn’s beloved grandmother) when Lady Jane was alive. It’s very unlikely that Josslyn grew up without any awareness of Jerry’s infamy, especially in Port Charles where he committed his worst crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My husband had two great uncles who were shot down running bootleg during the Prohibition era. We never met them, but we’ve all heard the family stories about Uncle Blackie and Uncle Chuck. Josslyn knows about Jerry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To Recast or Not To Recast<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Now, about the role of Jerry Jacks. The role has been played by Sebastian Roch\u00e9 since 2007, and he’s always been my favorite version of Jerry because Sebastian plays Jerry so deliciously evil and unhinged, but in the most charming and entertaining way possible. However, Sebastian was a recast. Julian Stone originated the role in 1998.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would love for Sebastian to reprise the role, if Jerry is indeed behind this new twist. Soap viewers are nostalgic by nature, so seeing that particular familiar face would be a wonderful treat for many of us. Plus, if there are plans to recast Jax (more on that in a bit), having Sebastian in the role of Jerry would greatly help the transition. But life is complicated, and actors like Sebastian are not always available. A recast might be unavoidable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Now?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

I think it’s been clear for quite some time that Ingo Rademacher will never ever be back on General Hospital<\/em> again. Bridges were burned. However, the show must go on, and, in this case, that means Jax will need to be recast. We’ve come to the point where it’s kind of necessary because his absence and lack of presence in Josslyn’s life over the past few years has been pretty glaring. She has lost two great loves — Oscar and Dex — and she’s gone through a lot of life changes. There’s no reason that Jax couldn’t come visit his daughter, and I think it’s pretty crappy of him to go off sailing rather than taking the opportunity to spend time with Josslyn and perhaps find out from her why she joined the WSB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Josslyn was Jax’s world. They had a bond that no one could deny, and that no one could break. It’s long past time for Jax to return to General Hospital<\/em>, so what better way to usher him back on the canvas than for Josslyn to rescue him from the clutches of his diabolical brother?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hudson, The Wild Card<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

I’ve also seen plenty of speculation that Hudson might be more than Jerry Jacks’ agent; he is Jerry’s son. I love that theory. It further bolsters the idea that Jerry is poised to return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I Will Always Love You<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On a lighter note, some of Port Charles’ singletons appear to be gearing up for a game of musical partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ric loves Elizabeth, and Elizabeth loves Ric, but that isn’t enough for Ric. He is wildly insecure because he’s worried that he will lose Liz to Dante. Even Ric can see how the winds are blowing on General Hospital<\/em>. Now Ric is taking romantic advice from Lulu, which, let’s be honest, is hilarious. Lulu is as bad at reading people as Ric is. But that’s the least of their problems. In the land of soaps, whenever someone gets a helping hand in the romance department, things get messy quick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liric: Take 5-ish<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

I loved Ric and Elizabeth back in the day. He was such a welcome change from Jason, who was fully committed to Sonny and only Sonny. Even Carly took a back seat when it came to Sonny in those days. I was excited when Ric hit the scene. He was handsome, a successful lawyer, and he was completely besotted with Liz. But we can’t have nice things on General Hospital<\/em>, especially if it makes Sonny and Jason look bad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ric ended up doing some pretty heinous things, including to Liz. After kidnapping a pregnant Carly and stashing her in a panic room, he secretly fed his beloved Elizabeth birth control pills to keep her from getting pregnant again. Liz suffered an embolism, nearly died, and had her life blown up again when Ric’s dirty secrets came to light. Time and again Liz forgave Ric for all the terrible things he’s done, and each time Ric inevitably found new ways to betray her trust. It was hard to watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Ric, love was never enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A New Ric<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

I do believe that Ric is trying to be a better person. He really does seem to have turned over a new leaf and is genuine in his quest to mend fences. But I just can’t get into his rekindled romance with Liz. I don’t think she can either. Liz cares about Ric, but I don’t think she’s as into him as he is her. The impression I’ve had is that Liz enjoys the companionship, and the romance is part of the package. I don’t see passion between them. I see two people who are very comfortable with each other. Then Dante began to show an interest in General Hospital’s head nurse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s been flirtatious banter and glances, but more so on Dante’s part than on Elizabeth’s. She appears to be oblivious to Dante’s crush on her, but she does light up around Dante in a way that she doesn’t with Ric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, Lulu was added to the mix. The writers weren’t subtle about it either. Valentin and Carly suggested that Lulu get a life and maybe jump into the dating pool and the very next scene Lulu was meeting with Ric. Ric implored Lulu to help him put the kibosh on Dante and Liz. You don’t need a soapy crystal ball to see where all of this is headed. The best-case scenario is that Ric will self-sabotage, Liz and Dante will end up together, and Ric will find an unexpected romance with Lulu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Admittedly, my initial reaction to Ric and Lulu was absolutely freaking not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two Wrongs Make A Right<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

To my surprise, the second time that Ric and Lulu met, I found myself enjoying their interaction. Lulu was actually pleasant and Ric was wonderfully vulnerable. She offered him good advice without being pushy, as she is prone to do, and he was open to it. Do I want to see a romance between them? No, but I wouldn’t mind a friendship. We’ll see where things go from there. Truthfully, I think both could use a friend right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Few Old Memories<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Valentin helped Anna through a panic attack. He knows she’s in deep trouble, but Anna is downplaying things. What’s an ex-lover to do? No one knows Anna better than Valentin, except for maybe Robert, but he’s not around. Meanwhile, Jason is worried about Carly because it didn’t escape his notice how quickly Valentin sprang into action to help Anna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Folks, Carly has grown. Color me shocked too. Her talk with Valentin at the end of Friday’s (August 28) episode was so refreshing. I believed Carly when she assured Valentin that she understood his love for Anna because it mirrored her love for Jason. She couldn’t fault Valentin for doing what she would do if their roles were reversed. Wow. That was such a breakthrough for Carly who has always battled her jealousy demons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My favorite part was when Carly told Valentin, “I’m not interested in litigating our past or the people in them. I’m choosing to move forward and to trust you.” I really love what Valentin and Carly have. They are good for each other and i can’t help but root for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna’s Cries For Help<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

But Anna is a mess, and it’s obvious that she is unwell. She’s pale, constantly on edge, and distracted. She even had a moment when Anna, Justine, and Laura met in Laura’s office with Ezra. More and more, Anna’s thoughts are on Peter’s insidious words. If Sonny notices that she’s struggling and advised her to see a therapist, why aren’t those closest to Anna aware?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is it going to take to get this woman the help that she so desperately needs? Why isn’t her therapist in France blowing up everyone’s phones because of Anna’s lack of follow-up on out-patient treatment? It shouldn’t be up to Valentin or Sonny to ride to Anna’s rescue when Anna has people in her life who see her every single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Fool Like Me<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Curtis is settling into life at Pentonville. Do I feel sorry for him? Not at all. Curtis only has himself to blame for his lot in life. I don’t like Curtis because he’s a self-righteous jerk who refuses to consider the possibility that he’s wrong about something. In this case, he was wrong about everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even when the warden expressed concern about Curtis’ safety, Curtis arrogantly assured the warden that he can take care of himself. Can you Curtis? What if there’s a gang of ten closing in on you with shanks and deadly intentions? Luckily for Curtis, the warden decided to put Curtis in special secure housing unit with fellow high-risk inmates. At the end of Friday’s (August 28) episode Curtis met his cellmate, but we have to wait until Monday (August 31) to find out who he is. My money is on Jenz Sidwell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chasing Down The Truth<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

On the outside, Chase is on a mission to get to the bottom of Jordan’s accident. He is determined to clear Willow’s name by finding the driver who left the scene of Jordan’s accident. We know it was Brook Lynn — or do we? Something occurred to me while I was watching Thursday’s (August 27) episode. Danny and Charlotte were on the same stretch of road that night, at the same time that Curtis and Jordan crashed. It’s why Carly and Valentin came across the scene of Jordan’s accident when they went to pick up the kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do our General Hospital <\/em>scribes have a little twist up their sleeves? What if Charlotte and Danny’s car troubles hadn’t been a red herring? What if it had been Charlotte and Danny’s car that Brook Lynn had nearly collided with? Would Brook Lynn be so quick to believe that she was the other driver if she knew Charlotte and Danny had been on the same stretch of road that night? Not that it matters, since no one actually broke the law except for Jordan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Halos and Horns<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One of my favorite scenes this week was the confrontation between Alexis and Willow. Alexis embraced her inner Cassadine, stormed into Willow’s office and put Willow on notice for threatening Kai and Trina. Willow claimed that she’d just been trying to scare Kai into keeping silent by pointing out that Kai might become a suspect in Drew’s shooting, but Alexis wasn’t having it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Willow’s True Colors<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Willow tried to defend herself, but Alexis wasn’t fooled. Willow keeps saying that she would do anything for her kids — except be a decent person. I loved it when Alexis reminded Willow that Willow is the kind of person that mothers protect their children from. Later Alexis asked, “What are you going to tell Amelia and Wiley when they are old enough? Gonna tell them that you did all of this on their behalf? That you framed their father and tried to kill your husband? I wonder what they’ll think of their mother then.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone Is To Blame — Except For Willow<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The problem with Willow is that she takes zero responsibility for her choices. She calls them mistakes, downplaying the awful things she’s done. A mistake is overpaying a bill or missing a spelling error. Sleeping with your husband’s uncle on your children’s nursery room floor is a choice. A bad one. Instead of taking accountability, Willow blames everything on Drew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drew made Willow fall in love with him by filling her head with things she wanted to hear. Drew escalated the animosity between Willow and Michael with bad advice. And, when Michael went to Germany for treatment, Drew kept on lying to poor unfortunate Willow. Willow also blamed Michael for putting her in an impossible position by accusing him of holding the kids over her head and forcing her to move into the gatehouse. She conveniently left out the part where Michael explained that he doesn’t trust his homicidal ex to have unsupervised visits with the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thankfully, Alexis was having none of it. “You put yourself in an impossible situation with every ill-fated decision that landed you right here,” Alexis said. Of course, Willow’s fallback excuse is that she did what she had to in order to be in her children’s lives. “You’ll never hear me apologize for that,” Willow insisted. As if that makes her a good mother. It doesn’t. “You wanna go slay all the monsters? Have at it. But just remember, you are a monster too,” Alexis told Willow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kudos to Brennan Too<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Another wonderful scene was Brennan calling Nina out when she demanded that he get something incriminating that Willow could use against Michael. “My God, you really don’t see it do you?” Brennan said. “See what?” Nina asked. “Who and what your daughter is,” he told her. He realized that Nina would keep enabling Willow until Willow destroyed Nina. “And when she does, mark my words, she will not shed a single tear.” Brennan warned. “Not a real one,” he added. It’s true. Willow’s love for Nina is purely transactional. Nina is useful to Willow, but as soon as Nina stands up to Willow, Willow will cut Nina out of her life without a second thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nina is another one who needs to go away. She takes enabling to a new level, and I hope it blows up in her stupid face. The audacity of Nina calling Serena out for being a nepo baby who is unqualified for the job at Deception. Did Nina forget that she was gifted Crimson<\/em> even though she had zero business or fashion experience? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nina is such a hateful creature. She’s only nice to those who indulge her narcissistic delusions. Nina and Willow have that in common.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Port Charles Potpourri<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Some quick thoughts about other things going on in and around Port Charles.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Friend Like You<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Things are looking up for Lucas. He might have finally found a good guy. Dingbat Lucy took time out from running Deception to rent the same apartment to both Lucas and Joe. When the men found out, Lucas took pity on homeless Joe and offered to let him stay, since all of Joe’s stuff had already been dropped off in the new apartment. I like the slow burn on this romance. Lucas has a bad habit of rushing into things, which inevitably lands him in toxic relationships, so this is a nice change of pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’re Gonna Be Sorry<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

I love Ava, but she really has no room to point fingers at Sonny. She’s lucky he hasn’t killed her. It was Ava who tampered with Morgan’s medication that sent Morgan into a manic spiral that took a tragic turn when he stole Julian’s car and got blown to smithereens. It was also Ava who recently tampered with Sonny’s medication that sent him into a manic spiral. How does she think Avery will feel when Avery learns about those awful things? Does Sonny talk to Ava like garbage? Yup, and I can’t blame him. Ava keeps stabbing him in the back even though he keeps giving her chance aftr chance to have a relationship with Avery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sonny puts Avery’s needs first. Ava puts her own needs first. It’s her greatest flaw. Aligning herself with Drew was a huge mistake and just might be the final straw for Sonny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I Remember<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

It was bittersweet to read that General Hospital<\/em> has written Robert Scorpio’s funeral episode, but the scenes haven’t been taped yet. I hate that it was necessary, but life can be cruel and Tristan Rogers passed away August 15, 2025, so it’s definitely time. Will we see Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio) and Sofia Mattsson (Sasha Gilmore)? I hope so. It would be such a sweet tribute to Tristan’s legacy as Robert to have both of Robert’s daughters there to comfort each other at their father’s funeral. Plus, I’m sure Emma would love a visit from one of her parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goodbye Dolly<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

If you didn’t know, my column’s title and the subheadings were a tribute to Dolly Parton, who passed away earlier this week at the age of 80 after a short battle with cancer. I am not a country music fan, but I loved Dolly Parton. Growing up my mom, would play Dolly and Kenny Rogers cassettes during long car trips and we’d all end up singing along. Those are such sweet memories, so whenever I hear Dolly sing it makes me smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From music, movies, literacy programs, family vacations, and even holiday baking, Dolly has been a part of so many of our lives in ways we might not have always known. For me personally, Dolly is attached to many of my most cherished memories growing up. It’s why learning of her passing hit a little closer to home than most celebrity passings. Dolly was an incredibly beautiful soul, generous and kind. She did more for humanity than most people, and she was an inspiration to all of us. Her bright light will be greatly missed. Godspeed, sweet lady.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I was so happy when Curtis was found guilty. There have been too many crimes happening on this show, all of which have been going unanswered. While Curtis\u2019s crime is the lesser of all of them, at least somebody is paying for their crimes for once.” — Kam<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I don\u2019t like the hints that Michael and Willow will get back together. I don\u2019t want Michael with the person that Willow is right now.” — Ryan<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Did anyone catch Molly telling Cody that Sidwell had confessed to being behind Maxi\u2019s heart attack? I\u2019m glad it FINALLY came out but why would Sidwell do that? It was so unnecessary. Why give the police more to put on his rap sheet? But it leads me to wonder why Sidwell didn\u2019t at least TRY to get immunity by ratting out Willow for drugging Drew? It seems as though it would be a bigger feather in Justine\u2019s cap to bring down a sitting Congresswoman than even an international criminal like Sidwell, especially since it\u2019s WILLOW.”  — SFan<\/p>\n\n\n\n
