Will Elizabeth be the key to Willow’s undoing and Drew’s salvation? How far will Cassius go to protect his secrets? Would he kill Josslyn? Big things are happening, so let’s get into it with an fresh new General Hospital commentary for the week ending May 01, 2026.

General Hospital appears to be kicking off May Sweeps with some interesting twists and turns that are sure to make for a soapy summer. Jack knows that Carly has another man in her life, Britt dropped a bombshell on Cassius about Josslyn, and then there was all that blinking at Drew’s house which caught Elizabeth’s attention. Let’s start there.

And Then a Hero(ine) Comes Along

Our intrepid scribes were busy moving all the little chess pieces into place this week. It felt like a turning point for many, including Drew who has been a prisoner in his own body — and wheelchair — for months thanks to Willow and her trusty syringe. Elizabeth paid Drew a surprise visit and quickly picked up on his plea for help. Unfortunately, Liz didn’t realize that Drew is in actual danger, so she inadvertently tipped off his <strike>captors </strike>caretakers that Drew was trying to communicate. Nina panicked, babbled, tried to downplay things, and did everything except reassure Liz.

Fortunately for Drew, Elizabeth isn’t easily dissuaded. She wasted no time in broaching the subject with Willow at General Hospital. Liz urged Willow to look into getting Drew an eye tracking device to help him, but Willow was having none of it.

The Wrong Message

According to Willow, she had looked into it – twice – but ultimately decided against getting Drew help. Willow explained that she didn’t want to send Drew “the wrong message.” Yeah, she actually said that, and more. “I know Drew. His goal is 100-percent recovery, nothing less. An eye tracking device …he would take that as me not believing in him,” Willow went on to say. Willow insisted that she couldn’t “crush Drew’s spirit” like that because he was such a proud man.

The side eye that Elizabeth gave Willow spoke volumes. If only Willow had listened. Liz knows something is off. What loving wife would deny her husband the ability to communicate? I can’t tell you how much I love the idea of Willow being brought down by her bestie – and only friend – Liz. I know Liz. She won’t let this go. At some point Liz is going to find a way to have a little chat with Drew, even if she has to learn Morse code.

A Scandalous Summer Affair

Trouble is brewing on several fronts for Willow. Not only is Elizabeth growing suspicious, and both Kai and Trina know that Willow shot Drew, but now Michael is conspiring against his duplicitous ex-wife. What’s a girl to do? Willow opted to align herself with an enabling mother who can’t seem to appreciate just how dangerous Willow actually is. It’s a recipe for disaster.

On the bright side, we might get a two-for-one payoff. When Willow’s house of cards collapses — and it will — Nina will be carted off to jail right along with her daughter. Even if Willow’s crazy plan to get incriminating evidence against Drew to use for blackmail succeeds, she won’t be able to keep others from talking. Too many know the truth about Willow’s crimes.

Willow’s Champion

This week, Chase showed up at Willow’s office with a huge bouquet of her favorite flowers to thank the congresswoman for her help with getting Phoebe placed with Chase and Brook Lynn. Willow did nothing, but he was grateful for her willingness to help. Did he thank Michael for suggesting it? Nope. Chase insists that Michael was never good enough for saintly Willow. Chase is such a sanctimonious jerk.

Michael realized that he could use Chase’s infatuation with Willow to his advantage. He intends to fan the flames of the spark that is already there. Michael hopes that by exposing Willow as an unfaithful wife, cheating on her tragically stricken husband with the cop who defended her, will not only tarnish her image, but create enough of a scandal that it would hurt her in court if she should try to sue Michael for custody of the children. A threat that Willow recently made after a confrontation with Jacinda.

But What About Brook Lynn?

I don’t have any issues with Michael’s plan. Carly asked how Michael justified hurting Brook Lynn, having gone through something similar when Michael caught Willow stepping out with Drew. “As awful as that was, I’m better off now because I know the truth.” Michael told his mother. He conceded that he had never really known who Willow was. Not really. “Just like Brook Lynn doesn’t really know who Chase is.”

Michael was spot on when he told Carly that Chase was someone who was thoroughly convinced of his own moral superiority. Michael was careful to assure Carly that he wouldn’t force Chase to cheat on Brook Lynn, but he would “construct circumstances that were favorable to an affair.” If Chase cheats, that’s on him. I wholeheartedly agree with that.

A Black Heart

I loved what Michael said about Willow too. He pointed out that she was alone right now, and Willow doesn’t do well when she was alone. “She needs someone with her. Someone to reinforce her belief in herself,” Michael said. He’s right. “And Willow desperately wants to be the person that Chase thinks she is.” I see that too.

Willow’s heart is black, and I really detest the idea of her being around sweet Wiley and Amelia. I don’t care what it takes. It’s time for Willow to pay for all of her crimes. If that means Chase loses everything and hits rock bottom for it to happen, so be it. Brook Lynn is better off without him anyway.

A Fall from Grace

It’s obvious where General Hospital’s writers are headed with Chase. He’s currently sitting on top of the world with a loving wife, a new baby, a career that he managed to hold onto by the skin of his teeth, and he’s got an unshakable belief in his keen instincts. It’s a perfect set up for a spectacular downfall. Pass the popcorn please. I’m so down for this.

For months, Chase has put Willow ahead of his own wife and career. It happened time and again despite the evidence against Willow. The gun, her lies, the video footage of Willow at the scene of the crime – which mysteriously vanished during the trial– were all dismissed by Chase simply because he couldn’t fathom Willow doing anything like that. But Chase didn’t stop there. He went a step further and accused Michael of Willow’s crimes. Chase went to great lengths to try and get the crime pinned on Michael too.

A Happy Homelife?

I think Chase has been unhappy for a long time. His father died, his brother and niece moved away, God knows what happened to Jackie Templeton, and then he learned that he could not father children. It was a lot. Then along came Gio, his wife and best friend’s secret love child. It was too much, and it seemed to me that was when things shifted for Chase. Suddenly, he was in Willow’s orbit. There are no coincidences on General Hospital. I knew there was a reason for it.

Now, trouble is brewing, and Chase’s marriage will be tested once again. I can’t see Brook Lynn keeping the secret about the night of Jordan’s accident from Chase for long. Brook Lynn has a terrible poker face and a guilty conscience. On top of that, Dante is looking for the driver of the other car, which means she might soon end up in the hot seat.

Will Chase tamper with evidence to protect his wife? If that happens, will he resent Brook Lynn for putting him in that position and go cry on Willow’s shoulder – and in her bed?

From The Frying Pan Into The Fire

The irony is that Brook Lynn at her worst can’t hold a candle to Willow’s messiness. Willow is diabolical. Brook Lynn makes poor choices, but she would never try to take someone’s life. She certainly wouldn’t inject anyone with a paralytic and play with her victim like a cat does a mouse before it devours it. Chase is in for a rude awakening, and it can’t get her fast enough as far as I’m concerned.

I Spy Trouble

General Hospital’s resident junior spy has landed in a heap of trouble. This week, Josslyn seemed to be everywhere, not-so-subtly asking questions about “Nathan’s” mysterious return and relationship with Faison. It put everyone on alert, except Cassius who saw Josslyn as a harmless “ditzy” college student. Britt was forced to put her brother on notice. She warned him that Josslyn was a WSB agent working for Jack.

Cassius realized that Josslyn could blow his cover, so off to Josslyn’s apartment he went. Friday’s show ended with Cassius warning Josslyn that it was too late to leave as he grabbed her arm to keep her from going to the door. Wouldn’t you know it, Josslyn left her duffle bag filled with weapons and ammo stashed in another room.

What Will Cassius Do?

I don’t think General Hospital has any plans to kill off Josslyn. That would be cruel to do to Carly. She lost Morgan to a madwoman’s evil plot, so I don’t want to see her lose another child to a madman. It would also mean that Cassius is beyond any hope for redemption, and I’m not sure I want that. He might not be as good as Nathan was, but I suspect he’s not as bad as Peter.

My best guess (I try to avoid spoilers) is that Cassius will kidnap Josslyn and stash her in a secret location. If he takes Josslyn to the catacombs on Spoon Island, Pascal will recognize Josslyn from the Five Poppies. Britt mentioned that Josslyn was at the resort, so Cassius would know that he would be signing Josslyn’s death warrant if he takes her to Wyndemere.

The Beginning of The End?

It finally feels like we’ve reached the beginning of the end for Sidwell’s reign in Port Charles. Britt keeps mentioning that they are very close to completing the cold fusion project, and now Cassius is on a WSB agent’s radar. An agent who made sure to throw her own mom under the bus earlier. People are going to be looking for Josslyn, starting with Carly.

Your Cheatin’ Heart

For the life of me, I couldn’t understand why Josslyn would betray her mother the way that Josslyn did Carly by telling Jack that Carly was seeing someone else. There was absolutely no benefit to telling him that other than to hurt Jack.

That was dirty. Carly didn’t deserve it, and it was pretty short-sighted. Did it ever occur to Josslyn that she might be putting both her mother and Valentin in danger if Jack caught them together?

The Spy Who Shagged Me

Jack has no room to act like Carly owes him anything. Not only did he recruit her daughter under her nose, but he has been lying to Carly for months. He also conspired with Nina to get rid of incriminating evidence against Willow, which made everyone suspicious of Carly’s eldest child. Jack has been a terrible boyfriend, who repeatedly betrayed Carly at every turn.

It was not cool how Jack broke into Carly’s house and stormed up to her bedroom when he saw the two glasses of wine. They aren’t married. He doesn’t live there. Come Monday, I really hope Carly tosses Jack out and tells him not to come back. It’s not like Carly has kept it a secret that she’s been struggling with their relationship because of the lies she’s caught Jack in already. Carly has been slipping away for months, and Jack knows it.

Free Valentin

It’s time for Valentin to stop hiding in Carly’s attic. I want him and Carly to enjoy an evening without Valentin having to duck out because Carly’s place has turned into Grand Central Station. Let Valentin earn his get-out-of-jail-free card. Maybe Valentin can clean up Jack’s mess and rescue Josslyn from the enemy’s clutches.

Port Charles Potpourri

Some quick thoughts about other things going on in and around Port Charles.

Rosen Up Your Bow

Can we please give Gio his violin back? Was it because he had helped Rocco? Perhaps if Brook Lynn had looked in the rearview mirror, she might have seen a third car on the road. The plot thickens.

O Brother

I couldn’t help but chuckle when Nina was waxing poetic about “Jay” and how well she knows him.
