Although the arc was too dark and violent for me, there were interesting neuro-psychiatric comparisons.
- Jason had brain damage that altered his personality forever.
Jason killed for a living and was stone cold with a depraved indifference for human life, when doing the deed.
Franco killed and raped for a living also with a depraved indifference for human life, but unlike Jason, he gloried in those acts and taunted the surviving families.
Franco always had an issue that his twin was considered the golden boy and protector through his killing while Franco himself was despised. He had a fascination with the twinning effect and comparison of the two.
Record scratch, back up, Franco was not his twin, he was a cousin. Drew was the twin.
Now Drew has a brain injury from his beating (I believe) and his personality is also altered. Whether it's altered forever has yet to be written.
But Drew does not kill. He just exhibits coercive control and cannot keep it in his pants. He is condescending and arrogant, but has not crossed the line into murder unlike his twin.
Yet once again, Drew is despised and Jason 'only kills bad people.'
If only the studies and contrasts could be written into the current show, I think that the episodes would be a lot more interesting.
